I have an iPod Nano and an iPhone. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get my purchased songs on both devices. They will only go on the nano. I honestly don't mess around with iTunes too much because I just don't have much time. Can someone give me simple, step by step directions to get my purchases on both using the same computer (Windows). TIA!

PS I really feel stupid (and old) not being able to figure this out

The should be an option for home share. You will need to enable it.

Also another easy way is to set manual sync on each

Where do you go for these in itunes? I thought I had manual sync for the iphone (everything was checked) but it only loaded two cd's that I had copied and none of my purchases. It is driving me nuts.

If I do the homeshare, wouldn't I need a second computer?

I really do apologize for being dense, but I am so confused!!!!!

Manual Sync means that you need to drag (manually) whatever you want to have on the device.

Apple has some great discussion forums, and great articles about their products -- you might want to visit.

The best recommendation I can give you is to take some time up front to learn the iTunes program -- it will save you loads of time and frustration later on. Best wishes.

I've only done it once, but it seems to me I didn't have to drag each item for the manual sync. I was using a PC, not a Mac. I wanted to copy everything from my itunes library to my ipod. I think I was able to do a Ctrl-A to select everything in my itunes library, and then do a CTRL-C to copy them all. Then I clicked on the ipod on the screen and did a CTRL-V to paste them all to it.

I would guess that the select, copy and paste features would be under EDIT if you're using a Mac.

Don't feel bad, OP. I found the whole process really frustrating. At the time, I swore I should have waited for my teenage nephew to visit so that he could do it for me.
