Its working!!

I'm down one pants size in 2 weeks! I started the Addipex that my Dr. prescribed for me. I only take 1/2 a day and I know a lot of people are against diet drugs but I'm telling you I am thrilled!

I feel wonderful all the time and I'm not ever hungry. If my stomach growls I will eat a little bit of something and after a few bites I'm full.

I know that once I stop taking them that my appetite will come back so I am teaching myself to only buy healthy foods and to bake and broil and to drink loads of water!!

Anyway this morning I was getting ready to go to a meeting and I couldn't find any jeans that looked nice. I have a pair of Navy Jeans but less than a month ago they wouldn't even go up on me. So I though, nah there is no way but I got them out and put them right on, they weren't even tight!!

I'm so excited you guys!! I'm ready to be a "hottie" again .... LOL!!!! I've got a long way to go but I'm getting there

Believe it or not I weighed 210 pounds at age 23. I went to a doctor who put me on a very mild medicine that really cut my appetite. I lost 88 pounds in 6 months! Best yet, I kept it off until I had my child at 31. As long as it doesn't contain ephedra, I'd say go for it!

Beth, congratulations on your success. As long as you change your eating habits in addition to the meds, I think you'll do great. Also, a little added exercise is always helpful. It will help speed up your metabolism.

BTW: I think you are a beautiful person, regardless of your pant size. But, I also know how much better one can feel about themselves after losing weight. I know I felt better losing weight after my first baby was born. It made me feel very much in control and sure of myself.

Keli that is a major compliment coming from you, you have to be one of the prettiest people I have ever met in my life!

Lets see for those that wanted to know more, the medicine is called Adipex (you can search google and find more info) it is in the Phenterimine family. It is NOT Fen-Phen which was a combination of Pondimin and Phenterimine it was the mixture of the two drugs that caused all the problems. My Dr. said Phenterimine has been out for years and does not show any heart related complications. It CAN cause your blood pressure to go up, luckily mine hasn't gone up from it. It can also cause your heart to race a bit which is normal because it is speeding up your metabolism.

For me I am never hungry and I have tons of energy. I had to weigh the options of the few risks the meds have in relation to the risks that I would be facing if I kept this weight on any longer. My doctor told me straight out that if I didn't loose weight he would almost guarantee me that I would be a type 2 Diabetic within 5 years, have high cholesterol and high blood pressure. In my eyes I have to do something and these meds are helping.

For anyone that is really interested there is a discussion board that I will post the link too. I have only posted a few times but I have read and read and read other peoples experiences. I know that you can order it online but I don't know if I will have to do that or not, my Dr. seems pretty convinced that I will loose tons of weight in the 4 months that I am going to have the pills. Here in Mississippi you can only get a 2 month supply in a year because they are habit forming (Probably because they make you have so much energy and feel so good) I decided to only take 1/2 pill a day so I will have a 4 month supply.
