Its Time, Hockey Fans!!!

When did we lose to Florida before?

Flyfly_Eclipse, I will feel soooooo sorry for you when Calgary wins in 4 and brings the Cup back to Canada where it belongs!!!!! But I love that evil laugh of yours (ie. Muahahaha!!!!!!!!! )!

DSNY FN, I think Flyfly_Eclipse meant losing "against" a Florida team, not "again".

You two are taking me back on a trip down memory lane. I loved the old days. I remember watching my Flyers play host to the California Golden Seals at the Spectrum. And I must admit, my favorite hockey player of all time was a ...gasp....HAB! During a game at Madison Square Garden (as a young lad), I was hanging over the glass during pre-game warmups. I wanted a puck from one of the players real bad but no one even batted an eye. As the players were leaving the ice there was one player remaining. He was nice enough to loft a puck in my direction but alas, it went through my hands and I was out of luck. Not wanting to dissapoint a fan, this player skated over to me, swipped the puck up on the blade of his stick, took off his glove and handed this very grateful boy the puck. That is the moment that Yvan Cournoyer became my favorite player of all time.

I long for the days of Bobby Orr, Maurice Richard, Dave Schultz, Keith Magnasen, Tony Esposito, Stan MaKita, Bobby Clarke, Jean Rattel, the Mahovlich brothers and the list goes on and on.

What a great story, Adam!!!!!! Yes, I really liked Yvan Cournoyer too; what a great skater! And some of those other names you mentioned......those were the days!

Sorry about your Flyers, Adam, but you obviously had a great time at Game 6!

Hey Adam I went to a game at the Montreal Forum the first game Gretzky played there after being traded to LA. My cousing who works for the GOV in MTL got me tickets I had to wear a shirt and tye but it was well worth it. We were in the private lounge and I got to sit down and talk to Richard and Belivou a few of the others I really didn't watch much of the game. I remeber them talking to me like I was just one of the guys and it was no big deal I can honestly say I was star struck that night.

Good Flames win! They had a major case of the the clutch and grabs though. ;)

Ihope they win again tonight I just got home so I have not even checked the score yet.

The Flames are getting FLAMED tonight!!! Woohoo!!

Go Bolts!!

I watched the first two games and they look like games played back in the 80's. Yes, skating, shooting, great goaltending, high energy, hitting...wow!

The NHL better shorten the season, let's all tell Jacques Lemaire and all the other clutch, grab and trap teams to watch these teams. This is how the game is supposed to be played!

Now, let's have one of them 5 to 6 shootout games, eh? With the winning goal scored in an OT period.

Go Flames!

Go Lightning!

I'm just having a great time watching these teams go at it. :teeth:

So there is a canadian bar here in Paris that will be broadcasting the games live ... and with the eight-hour time difference between Calgary and here, the puck will be dropping around 4 AM! Wonder if I'll still be in the mood for a beer then! :)

Yesterday was just proof that it's anybody's series. When you see two one sided games like we did, how do you get a feel for the rest of the series? You would have to figure that it will eventually revert to the low scoring 2-1 typical playoff hockey; but when?

WOW, I guess tonight was the night! 1-0 Tampa Bay.....that was exciting! :hyper:

Very good game ... Calgary really needs to get more shots ON GOAL if they want to have a chance of winning. They were getting some great chances, but sending their shots high, wide, off the post, etc. Get the shots ON NET, and more of them will start to go in.

One thing I noticed right before the game (and the "Parade Behavior" thread kinda reminded me of this) ... during the Canadian anthem, one of the Calgary players started yelling to his teammates towards the end of the song ("glorious and free"). The teammate standing directly behind him (who had been singing along) kinda jabbed him in the shoulder and pointed to the flag. He shut up. And I don't know why I'm pointing it out, just an observation I guess.

Don Cherry's suit looked outlandish, even for him.

NHAnn, this is more like playoff hockey. I'm sorry to see Calgary come up on the loosing end tonight though.

Well, it's down to the best 2 out of 3 now. The Flames had more scoring chances but the Bolts got the win. It's back to the "soft" ice of Tampa now. Great hockey. Sorry to see it end and possibly not be back next year.:(

WOW! The score should have been 10-2 last night but Kabibulin was spectacular! I couldn't believe how Tampa stayed in that game and almost pulled it out. Can the Bolts win again in Calgary and bring a game 7 back home? I hope so!

Game On!!!

What a game.....:thewave:
(sorry Big Dude ;) )

glad it was a Saturday night ;)

Gotta love a 7 game final series!! :teeth:

Wow! That was an exciting game. Nothing better than taking it 7 games in the finals!
I agree Ann, I didnt make it to the very end, but I saw a lot more than I would have on a week night. ;)

WOO-HOO hockey fans!!
Game 7...doesn't get any better than this!!!!
:teeth:
