I just recently inquired about the bus from POR to FW but apparently they no longer do that...you now need to take a bus to MK & a boat to FW.

RATS! Oh well, we will have our car so we can just drive over. But good to know the other route too incase we decide to go that way. Thanks for the info!!

A quick question about the alarm clocks in the rooms. Are they just regular old radio alarm clocks, or are they the kind that you can play a CD in?

I see that check in at POFQ is at 3pm. We will be arriving at hotel around 1pm. Do you think we could possibly get an earlier check in? Has anyone?

You can check in any time you please. Your room may or may not be ready, though. However, bell services will hold your bags for you if your room is not ready so you can go about enjoying the World.

If your room is not ready, they will still give you your room key but not your room #. They will give you a # to call back if you are not at the resort and then they will give you your room # so all you need do is go straight to your room.

Has anyone ever gone fishing in the Fishing Hole? One of the main reasons we picked this resort was because of all the extra's, plus it was not too Disney for my DH. He is not a Disney fan even though this is his first trip he knows he will not like it. So he loves to fish so I booked him on a fishing excursion and I was just wondering how the fishing hole is. I know they use cane poles but something is better then nothing.

Also I am assuming DH can take a cab from POR to the GF for his fishing excursion since he has to be there around 6:45 and busses don't run that early.

We are staying Dec. 14-22. I want to stay at the mansions but can't seem to find a map.

Does anyone have any building suggestions for us? I don't want to be by a quiet pool. We just did this at OKW and it was not quiet at all. Is there a site with a map of POR?

Thanks, I had just found the map so I am feeling stupid. Now, which mansion do you suggest we stay in? Close to the main pool but also a walk way from the central area. Not too close for bus noise but not to far either.

I saw a beautiful picture of arches in front of a mansion, where is that?

My husband and I stayed in Parterre Place back in 1997 (before kids). It is the furthest from the main pool though. We really liked this location. Our bus stop was the the South Depot. Our room was standard but it did not face the parking lot. It had an obstructed view of the water. We did not have any traffic noise and we really liked it. Here are a couple of pictures of Parterre Place taken from the DownTown Disney ferry:

With kids, we just stayed in the Alligator Bayou section in June. I have to admit that this area was extremely relaxing and beautiful. I enjoyed it much more than the mansion area. If you would like any pictures of this area, I'd be glad to post them.

We stayed in July in the Parterre Place Mansions. room 9538 it was great. close to all. Pics ar ein my TR if you want to see it.
Highly recommend it.

With kids, we just stayed in the Alligator Bayou section in June. I have to admit that this area was extremely relaxing and beautiful. I enjoyed it much more than the mansion area. If you would like any pictures of this area, I'd be glad to post them.

I'm so confused as to what to ask for when we get there...AB or Mansions??? I like the look of the Mansion rooms better but I like the lushness &the greenery of the AB better!! Hmmmm.....

I know there is a bus to MK, but also to TTC and DTD. Are these all the same bus? It just makes multiple stops?

Or are there different buses for different stops?

Obviously a newbie

We will be staying at POR in Nov and I have a question. There are 4 bus stops on the map and I would like to know if the buses start at the main lobby and work their way around the resort or do they have a different order? Would it be better to get the bus from the main lobby area to guarantee a seat or was there always room no matter which stop that you got on? TIA
