Why does it seem that between smoking and smoking optional rooms there aren't any good buildings left? 14 is impossible to get and besides that I'd rather be in a more secluded spot. I was really liking building 38 until I read that it was smoking optional and I also loved the location of 27. 15 and 16, blah, we stayed in 16 before...I was going for a water view, hopefully river...24 and 25, seem too far 35 and 37 too...that leaves 39. Any suggestions? Where have you gotten good views from? Thanks

DD and I just got back December 27, and we stayed in a non-smoking room in Oak Manor, so yes, there are non-smoking rooms available. We absolutely loved the resort!

Yes, I know there are available non-smoking rooms, but from the looks of the map all the best buildings appear to be smoking or smoking optional...and we have to stay in the AB section because we have 4 children. Now I am thinking requesting either building 26 or 39 and asking for a "garden view" room. Neither of those buildings should have a parking lot view. It really won't matter when we get there, the resort is so amazing. Long walks don't matter much. But you always dream of having the "perfect" location.

We stayed in a NS room in Oak Manor and loved it! It was pretty close to the main building too!

It took 3 days to get thru this entire thread, but it was worth it. Thanks to everyone who contributed all of the great info on this resort. We just returned from a great week at WDW, and our stay at POP was ok, but after staying at CBR the previous year, I just really missed the relaxed feeling I got at a moderate resort. So DW has decided that POR will be our resort next year. I can't wait. We will hopefully stay in the AB section, don't really care which building as long as it is non smoking. Now, we only have 50 more weeks until we leave.

I need something that would sleep five and at first it says on the DIsney site that it sleeps five but when I go to room descriptions it says 2 double beds or a king. How does that sleep five!

Help what kind of sleeping arrangements does this resort have?

Some of the rooms in the AB section have trundle beds.

Thanks. From what I have read those trundles only can sleep a child.

I put 3 adults and 2 - 17's into the Disney reservation system and POR was one option that it offered. I really do not understand this room set up!

If you have 5 people, they will give you a room with a trundle bed or rollaway bed. In our case, AB was filled to capacity and we got a rollaway bed in the Mansions. The rollaway bed was very comfortable - I slept there!

just got back this afternoon from a quick getaway w/ dh. The CRO system apparently didn't record my request for a mansion-but since we paid for a king bed we were limited. We were in AB building 37- quite a hike from the main buildings/pool but since we drove it wasn't too much of a problem for us. Just drove our car to the main building in the morning for breakfast then hopped on the bus to the parks.

A few questions: are there elevators in this building???? we didn't find any!

Are all King bedrooms corner rooms? Does that make them bigger? We found it very spacious.

We loved the resort and concluded that we would easily bring the kids back- and since we bought FL Seasonal passes.... I know we'll be back!

We have a smoker in our party and I have requested building 18, ground floor, corner room. Is this close to food/pool/bus stops? Is this a good choice?

I believe we were in Bldg 27 in '04 and it was close to the food court. Bldg 18 is close, too, but I think that's a smoking building.

Just tried to read most of this thread...we are arriving on Thursday to POR and its our first stay at this resort...I can't wait!

Do they ever put a family of 5 in a mansion room? I really would love to request staying there instead of AB. I have an airbed so we don't need the trundle. Thanks for the info...
