My husband and I stayed at POR in the AB section last October for our Honeymoon and we loved it! Here are some of our pictures (sorry if I mess up posting, this will be my first photo post).

That is one of the buildings we requested. Was that section of the resort pretty quiet? Which bus stop did you use?

And to you and others that have stayed at POR...how bad can you hear people/noise/tv's in the rooms next to you?

Disgirl83 - great pics! I've been looking for pics of the main pool at POR - this is the best one yet. Thank you.

When we were there the food court was always packed; however, we hardly saw anyone walking around and never during a whole week even saw anyone when we were leaving or going to our room. We used the west depot bus stop. It was a little walk but completely shaded. We found the walk relaxing.

We also had no problem with any noise. The only noise we ever heard was the gurgling pond outside of our room.

We have stayed in buildings 14, 16, 25 and have been on both 1st and 2nd floors. We never heard any noise from outside or other rooms and we were there in the summer when the resort was full. I love POR! Your pictures make me wish I was there now.:goodvibes

That's reassuring about the noise. I can't stand if I can hear talking or t.v.'s next door. It keeps me up. I usually bring a white noise maker anyway so I don't have to hear my husbands breathing. Haha...I'm horrible.

Does one bus stop at all the depots or do different buses go to each? I mean...if I get one at one stop...are they going to go around to all the others? I don't mind walking to a farther away stop if it's a better one so I'm trying to figure out which would be best.

When we were there in 2005 all buses went from all stops and with the main building being the last stop. We had heard they also shared with POFQ but that never happened when we were there in the August!

So if i don't want to sit on the bus while it goes to every stop...it might be better to go to the main building bus stop? i'd rather walk/stand outside then sit on the bus.

In January, do you think the buses will too full therefore making me wait for another one to come?

You should be OK in January but in August the bus was pretty crowded by the time it got to the main stop!

Just wanted to tel DisGirl 83 that I loved her pictures and so appreciated her taking the time to post them.....:flower3:

Last Jan. we used the main stop every morning and we were usually the first on the bus! Sometimes we would then drive around POR and pick up at other stops or we'd just head to the park with usually only a handfull of guests. On the way back at night however... now that is a different story!

We just got back (Nov. 8-11) from POR and the bus situation was just horrible. We waited at least 25 minutes for a bus each time. Friday morning we decided to walk to the main bus stop for an MGM bus. We waited 30 minutes for a bus and saw 5 MK buses, 2 epcot, even a couple DTD buses at 930am. I talked to a family standing near me and they had been there for 10 minutes longer then we had so it was that we had just missed the bus. Another time it was 40 minutes to get a bus to epcot. The resort itself is wonderful and very pretty through. The room we had was great and I love the AB building we stayed in.

Does anyone know approximate travel times between the resort and each park? (Not including the wait time beforehand. Just the actual time on the bus.)

POR to MK?
POR to Epcot?
POR to MGM?
POR to AK?

We stayed in the AB section in building 18 and loved this location! It was not too far from the food court, bus stop, main pool. It was right next to a quiet pool.

Did the quiet pool--or the big pool--have a hot tub? thanks! :goodvibes

Yes there is an iron and ironing board, refrigerator, hair dryer and coffee pot.

Have a great time, we are headed out next Friday.

Can anyone tell me which buildings in the AB section used to be the ones that smoking was allowed in? Thanks

Here is the old info

GUIDE TO PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE GUEST AREAS
Riverside divides its rooms between two uniquely themed sections. Alligator Bayou is the backwoods “swamp” area. It is made up of 16 separate small buildings with two stories and tin roofs. Smoking is permitted in Buildings 17, 27, 28, 34 and 36

Have a great trip:goodvibes
