Finalizing our plans for January and we’re wondering if the AK MM is worth it? Since there’s so few rides will the lines be ridiculously long? Does anyone have any experience with this? We would get there early in order to do safari but…..

Being able to experience Pandora after dark again was worth it to me. As for ride times, we walked on Everest two times in a row. That ride is so much better after dark! It's an entirely different experience. Navi went down unfortunately and of course that made FOP more crowded. Though we still only waited maybe 20 minutes or so. It was fun to go through the full queue again, because if we ride that we usually buy the LL. Dinosaur was a walk on, though my husband can't ride that due to his back so I skipped it. This was just before Zootopia opened so that wasn't an option.

All that said, we did not stay the entire time as there weren't enough rides open. We still had fun and enjoyed a snack at Pongu Pongu. It was our first Moonlight Magic event and we quite enjoyed it. I'm really hoping to get tickets to the HS one during our spring trip.

The entire AK is best after dark except of course the safari.

I understand closing earlier due to the animals.

It's another reason why I like the winter months with early sunsets.

It's free so definitely worth it :)

I love riding Everest and being able to look up at the stars. The lines are minimal. Free snacks, etc. You really have nothing to lose by going!

We I’ve been twice and are going again in January. We love it, ride waits are short, even for FoP. In fact MM is the only time we seem to go on FoP anymore because the wait is so short!

It’s fun and worth the time! I’d work our trip around it given the opportunity again. We tried AK MM last Nov 2024. The flow felt more similar to an After Hours party than an EEH to me.

A full 3 hours makes a big difference in how much you can get done. iirc the event started 1 hour after park closing, so a dedicated 3 hours with no overlap of day guests. Plus with special characters and free food guests are spread out doing different things. Super friendly atmosphere.

We took a mellow pace. Did Everest and Dino twice each with 5 minute waits, Fop and Navi boarded within 20 minutes, enjoyed our snack credits here and there, bought a few adult drinks, and 2 character meets. Could’ve done more if we wanted to push ourselves.
