Subscribing for 9/3-9/15. So excited! Does anyone know where the butterfly garden is? Is there a building close by that I should request as I'll be butterflying every chance I get.

We stayed at POR for 8 nights in June 06, and leaving again in 10 days for 7 nights. Last time we were in Parterre Place, Room 9536, a corner king river view.

We're hoping to have it again this time! I know some people claim the rooms don't meet their expectations for the cost, but we were very pleased.

Being on the corner wasn't nearly as noisy as we were afraid it would be. We heard a bunch of people coming past the first afternoon, and some people leaving the room next door just before midnight one night, but otherwise we were usually out of the room by 7 or 8 in the morning and didn't get back until 10, 11 or 12 at night. The two times we were stopping by for a quick change, it was quiet as well.

(I've got some pictures but I have to get to 10 posts before I can link to them. I probably should have broken this up into more posts but that seems like cheating! )

I love your photos of your room. Was Parterre Place a non-smoking building? And how far was it from the food court/main building?
We've booked a water view room, hoping to get a view of the river, not the pool. Were you able to see the boats passing from your river view?

We've booked a water view room, hoping to get a view of the river, not the pool. Were you able to see the boats passing from your river view?

No, it's not far from the main building, though the other side of the building from the food court. Yes, it's non-smoking. Here's a clip from the resort map (below). Red X is where the room was. Green lines crossing the river are the bridges.

We're hoping to get the same room next week, or possibly something similar even farther south, and away from the main building. We prefer the quiet to the convenience. Please please please don't put us next to a pool !!!

Just remember, you book a water view or a king ... you can request a water view king but there's no guarantee you'll get it.
