Thanks for posting the boat sign, Tink's pixieduster--this is just what I was lookng for!

We stayed at POR for 8 nights in June 06, and leaving again in 10 days for 7 nights. Last time we were in Parterre Place, Room 9536, a corner king river view.

We're hoping to have it again this time! I know some people claim the rooms don't meet their expectations for the cost, but we were very pleased.

Being on the corner wasn't nearly as noisy as we were afraid it would be. We heard a bunch of people coming past the first afternoon, and some people leaving the room next door just before midnight one night, but otherwise we were usually out of the room by 7 or 8 in the morning and didn't get back until 10, 11 or 12 at night. The two times we were stopping by for a quick change, it was quiet as well.

(I've got some pictures but I have to get to 10 posts before I can link to them. I probably should have broken this up into more posts but that seems like cheating! :) )

We fly from Detroit to Orlando on Saturday. Going to be at POR for 7 nights. :woohoo:

Anyone have any questions that I can get answered while I'm down there? Want me to investigate something for you?

Let me know.

You lucky ducky. We have to wait until June. So, I guess you can fill us in on:

1) If you utilized DME how was that and how long did it take to receive your luggage?

2) What kind of room did you reserve, your actual requests beforehand, and what kind of room you were given.

3) How were the busses?

Thanks so much and have a WONDERFUL vacation! :thumbsup2

They had hair wrapping when we were there in July 2005. I can't remember how much it was though. My DD got three colors and beads and I believe it was around $25. Hopefully popinl will be able to get updated info for you :)

I've got a friend at work who's going to POR on 3/23 and she's absolutely frantic that they won't be able to eat breakfast at the food court before heading to the parks. Anyone recently returned who can fill us in on what is actually available for food and seating at the food court??

I'll see what I can find out about braiding...I don't think my 3 ds's will be interested though, I guess I could get one!!!

As for breakfast I have read that there are pre-plated hot meals available for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and I believe the people that had then said that it was okay. I've also read that it is reopening around March 23rd

i love disney's Port Orleans Resort-Riverside. The best hotel in Disney World.

Hi!
There is still hot food being served in the area outside what must be the food court. They have set up temporary fridges with drinks, milk and sandwiches etc. and drinks stations.
The sit down restaurant is still open.

Thanks, Lynn. I'll let her know. We're leaving the 17th (just a week away!!), and she's leaving the following Thursday, so I wouldn't be able to let her know in time. She says she has decided to "go with the flow" -- it's her DH who's all upset about the food court.

OK, finally. Here's some room & view pics from our June 06 trip. This was a 1st floor corner king river view in Parterre Place.

I haven't read this whole thread so not sure what has been posted about the Food Court renovation, but FWIW, a CM I spoke with yesterday told me that the Food Court construction at the POR is scheduled to be completed by March 30th.
