We just got back from the World- spent 7 glorious nights.... 3 nights at POR, 4 nights at beautiful Poly.... we had an amazing trip! :lovestruc

We took advantage of the new Disney design-a-tee store and also made our own Mickey ears! Super fun!

I was really impressed with POR- stayed at POFQ many years ago but never POR and I gotta say, I just loved it! The carriages ride at night, Yehaa Bob, the wonderful food court with the yummy Magic Cookie Bars!! We were on the 2nd floor of Magnolia Bend and it was a great location- right next to the quiet pool and just across from Ol Man Island.... a short walk to the lobby and food court..... walked over to French Quarter one morning for beignets.... loved having the boat to DD..... couldn't recommend it more, it is now my fave moderate!

However, we were just itching to get over to Poly for 4 nights and WOW, we fell in love! I stayed there in 2001 and my husband hasn't stayed there since early '90s and we were just in heaven our whole stay! I loved waking up and laying out on the hammocks listening to the boats go by..... loved watching Wishes every night from the beach and how they piped in the music from MK..... loved being able to walk to GF and T&TC for Epcot Monorail.... our only MINOR complaint was having to share bus service with Contemporary and GF, but in all fairness, Poly was the 2nd stop and it was fairly smooth..... the pool was wonderful, my husband had to be the oldest "kid" going down the slide! :rotfl:

I had booked a resort photo session at the Poly and IMO, the pics turned out wonderful! I'm so happy with them!

I planned a scavenger hunt at Epcot through GOAL as a surprise for DH's bday and it went awesome! It was themed around our german shepherd Brady who is our world! The idea was that Brady had hid a gift for my husband somewhere in the WS and we got sent through every country looking for clues to lead us to a gift that I purchased for him! It was so cool and very memorable! DH loved it! Jane was super great to work with also! She really customized our event!

We hit a few of the wonderful Disney restaurants.... old favorites we tried again- Ohana-always a great experience and one of our faves, Kona Cafe for breakfast- highly recommend the macadamian-nut pineapple pancakes- YUM!! Nine Dragons- I know it doesn't get good reviews often but we love it, especially when we get a window seat....
Some new ones we tried were Marakkesh- which I was just okay with but my husband says its a definite must from now on.... I really think he is only judging his opinion on getting to see a belly dancer rather than on the food! :lmao: We hit Chefs De France for lunch and I was THRILLED to see that Remy was still there even though I had thought he was supposed to leave on Sept 5th!! He sang happy bday to my hubby and it was too fun! The food was decent- I enjoyed the french onion soup and creme brulee the best! We tried the GF Tea for the first time and this was totally for my hubby because I am not a tea drinker.... DH thought the tea was excellent but didnt care for the sandwiches.... I ordered a mini castle cake and it was soooo good! We finally got over to Beaches and Cream for ice cream and as expected, it was great!!! Our top fave for the entire trip had to be the restaurant we hit our last night at Disney- Paradiso 37! My husband had been craving tacos the entire trip and we just couldn't seem to find them anywhere, not even Mexico in Epcot!? :confused3 so I checked allears on my phone and found that this new gem had what we were looking for..... we got a great table out on the lake at DD, I ordered the quesadillas, my husband got his tacos.... food was amazing! service was exceptional! view and atmosphere so great! 2 thumbs up! :thumbsup2 this is a definite must for us from now on!

Crowds were super light (except at DHS Thursday, and I believe that was because it was a Fantasmic night), and weather was fantastic! They were calling for rain every day and it only rained the day we left! Perfect! We had such a great trip and ended up booking 6 nights bounceback w/ free dining at Wilderness Lodge (never stayed here before and looking forward to it!) for next September! Now I'll leave you with some pics of our trip! Counting down the days till next year!
