Sorry, but it's time for my annual rant. 'Ohana is a Polynesian place...Not an Irish pub, as in Darby O'hana.

There, I feel better.

Really? I thought for sure I had green beer there once. Or was it blue? Yeah, yeah, it was blue with a little umbrella in it, for some reason . . .

But I like Ohana's along with Fresh's and Maya Grill's and Concourse Steakhouse's and Yacht Club Gally's as well as Chef Mickey and Mama Melrose.

I take it you mean 'Ohana rather than O'hana and not the style of food, right? ;) It kinda makes my face twitch a bit to see O'hana too.

Hey, my post was RIGHT!!!!!!!!!! doing the spelling correctly dance... :dancer:

I remember an old rant! I never even noticed it until you said something. I hope I get it right most of the time and maybe sometimes I just call it Ohana with *nothing*. But after reading another rant from a year or so ago, I have never, ever forgotten it!!!

Thanks, your post made me :D

You're absolutely right. 'O'hana's is a Polynesian restaurant, that's why it is located at the Polynesian Resort. And by the way, 'O'hana's is our very favorite restaurant, followed closely by Boma's. :Pinkbounc :cheer2:  :teeth:

YES!!!!!!!!!!!! I just favored DH with a rant about this the other day.

The only restaurant I love more than O'hanas is Palos!!!

GRRRRRRR!!!!!!

Thanks. I feel better now too.

<<According to most studies (Partnership for a Drug Free America, NIDA, NIH) the number of 12th graders who have tried marijuana is around 40%. While your signature has the best of intentions, it's wildly inaccurate.>>

LOVE IT!!! thank you!! i have been meaning to check those other stats and post something similar for a year or better! LOL! glad you're less of a procrastinator than i am! :rotfl:

Is there a rant that includes the "Poly" vs "Polynesian" ?

I remember the 'Ohana rant as well, and I'm only good at remembering the rant, not the "correct" spelling... however when someone "ranted" that to shorten it to "Poly" was an "insult" I've been using the full Polynesian ever since!!

LOL! :rotfl2:

I first saw those 98% signatures pop up last year and they were driving me batty! Glad I'm not the only one who saw it and noticed a little problem...

"Relaxation

Simple relaxation tools, such as deep breathing and relaxing imagery, can help calm down angry feelings. There are books and courses that can teach you relaxation techniques, and once you learn the techniques, you can call upon them in any situation. If you are involved in a relationship where both partners are hot-tempered, it might be a good idea for both of you to learn these techniques.

Some simple steps you can try:

Breathe deeply, from your diaphragm; breathing from your chest won't relax you. Picture your breath coming up from your "gut."

Slowly repeat a calm word or phrase such as "relax," "take it easy." Repeat it to yourself while breathing deeply.

Use imagery; visualize a relaxing experience, from either your memory or your imagination.

Nonstrenuous, slow yoga-like exercises can relax your muscles and make you feel much calmer.
Practice these techniques daily. Learn to use them automatically when you're in a tense situation"

thought this might help those who can't handle misplaced apostrophes :)

Wow, and I thought there were more problems in the world to worry about.

People get a grip. Not everyone is well versed in spelling like you all.

Then I guess we have no need whatsoever for a frivolous board like the Dis.
