IT'S OFFICIAL!!!****OCTOBER 2014****...ROLL CALL!! Join the party!

The Food & Wine special events are usually released in early August. Lat year, information on the wine tasting events, cooking demos, and other special events were only released several days before you could begin to make reservations. Compouding past issues of obtaining reservations, last year DVC members, Disney Visa cardholders, and annual passholders were able to make reservations a day before the general public. Many of the popular events were already sold out by the time general reservations could be made for the events.

A good website to watch for Epcot Food and Wine fest info is www.disneyfoodblog.com.

Ok, thank you for the info. I am a frequent visitor to Disney Food Blog:thumbsup2

HELLO everyone!!!

I will be going to DisneyWorld in October too! :cheer2::dance3::yay::thumbsup2

I am driving from Manitoba to Minnesota (9 hours) to meet up with Melissa (the blond in my profile pic!) and from there we are going to NASHVILLE! YAY! Spending the night at our friend Shannons and then a whirlwind sightseeing day in Nashville! Then off to WDW!

We are checking in at the BCV on October 2nd until the morning of the 6th. And then we're going on a 4 day cruise on the Disney Wonder with a double dip at Castaway Cay!

I have a pre-trip report started in my signature if you're interested. We're pretty crazy/fun and addicted to BITSTRIPS. lol

Looking forward to getting to know you guys! ALL the best people I've met have been on the DIS and are now some of my bestest friends!!! :group hug:

I'm sorry if this was asked before, but is there a list of everybody heading down on this thread? I'm just curious. Sunny and 67 in Philadelphia, Go Flyers!

Yes, go to the first page of the thread, we have quite a long list for October!

Just in case anyone is interested in booking the Illuminations Dessert Party at Epcot, you have to call WDW Dining, you can't book it on the website. It makes no sense that the event is listed on the website and if you try to book it, the site says its sold out.

I just checked and tried to make an ADR for BOG, as the CM told me I could start booking on April 22. Well that date was greyed out and it took me a couple of minutes to realize today is not the 22. Duh. Double duh to me because I should know its the 21st because today is my birthday. We have a stat holiday so I am off work and doing some Disney planning this morning (DFi is working). Bad point of today? I now have to start saying I am "in my thirties"...I totally milked the year of being 30 because I insisted I was not technically IN my 30's yet, I was just barely at 30.

Anyway, guess I can make my BOG tomorrow. Anyone know how long it usually takes to eat dinner there? Just wondering if I am better off with a late dinner near park close? I don't want to waste alot of precious park time in the restaurant, esp. if the reservation system works as I understand it, which is that you get the next available table after your reservation time. basically, I am wondering if I get a 5:00 reservation am I potentially there till 8 or 8:30?

:rainbow: Happy Happy Birthday!!! party: :cake:

Good luck with BOG tomorrow!

Had to change my dates since our original dates were the same as the Gartner Symposium events...we'll be there September 28th-October 4th!

I think this is the first time my dates have spanned across 2 months so IDK if I belong in the October thread or the September thread lol! We should be staying at AKL we'll see if the AP rates are good!

We're in! Just booked Oct. 27- Nov. 4th, AKL Jambo house. Can't wait! I've never done the Halloween party, so I'll devour this thread when I'm more awake, hopefully there's good info.

Heading to WDW October 16-22, staying at Saratoga Springs!!!! My DD is hoping to get a meeting with A&E while we are there and we all are looking forward to our first MNSSHP!!!! And hopefully a afternoon/night with the wife at the food and wine for her 30th birthday!

Super excited- Our last night of our 9 night/10 day adventure, DH and I decided to do a few hours of EP/Food and Wine Fest, alone- kids are booked at Sand Castle Club at Beach club pixiedust: I think by then, they may be ready for a night of relaxing and playing with out walking. my kids loved the Club at AKL but Sandcastle is so easy, we can walk over to Epcot.

Can we join in too?? party: We are going September 29 - October 9! Right now we are booked at AoA standard room, but I keep looking to see if we should switch resorts.

Well, tomorrow is my ADR day.

We are on quick service plan, so only making 3 ADR's. We will eat at non- reservation places the other nights if we feel like it - Crew's Cup, the lounge at Brown Derby, etc...

Making ADRs for -

Via Napoli - 8:15

California Grill - 7:30

Captains Grille (breakfast) - 10:15

:)

Had a little freak out today over my Columbus Day weekend trip! My original "bright idea" was that we would go at a less crowded time (we usually go early August and that is our main trip this year) and less hot time! Well, I have recently read that CD is both crowded and potentially very hot!!! Looked to see if I could change the flights to a later weekend in Oct. even though it would mean taking an extra day off work/school. well... WOW! Airline prices have about doubled since I booked it! Looks like we'll be staying with CD weekend and just dealing with it! Only thing is I'm not telling DH who only agreed to the second trip b/c it would not be as hot and crowded...oops! LOL! I still wish there was another MNSSH during my long weekend b/c I don't think we'll be able to do everything I want in one night!

It is still hot in early October but WAY less humid! We have been end of July and first of September and from our experience you will be able to tell a huge difference:) CD is crowded for October but still not Aug crowded
