Forget Popeyes, KFC, Church's, Burger King, Carl's Jr. And all, the Turtle Shack Poolside Bar at Old Key West winds hands down with thier Buttermilk chicken sandwich that use Olivia's chicken.

But Popeye’s exists on a plane unlike any other… now I have to go and compare!

There is no comparison, use Olivia's Chicken on a freshly baked bun, add cheese and gravy as well as lettuce, tomato and onion. Seriously, delicious, not sure why it is only sold at the pool bar and not the quick service that is closer to Olivia's, but still.

Even better than Chick-fil-A?

Wow, thanks for that ringing endorsement! We will be there in August and hope to try one.

Definitely, it wouldn't stand a chance, don't let the fact it is a pool bar fool you, it is great.
We ate at Olivia's for brunch in April and we both ate the chicken and waffles. Don't get me wrong, we both thought it was a really good piece of buttermilk fried chicken. Unless they do something different when they convert it to a chicken sandwich, I have had better fried chicken sandwich.

The chicken and waffles were just ok, is the dinner version that shines and I think it is partially the gravy, which they do put on the sandwich. The melted cheese and lettuce, tomato and onion add a lot too. It can also depend on who the chef was preparing it I suppose.

It was the waffles part that was a bit of a let down.

I will have to give the sandwich a try the next time we are down. Thanks for the insite and information.
