Well, I couldn't keep it a secret from the kids any longer. Had to explain why we weren't putting up all the Christmas decorations like we usually do. Plus I didn't want to pack on the sly...too much work.

One kid was ticked about not being able to spend the holiday with his best buddy, one was devastated that we were skipping Christmas until I explained to her that we were just celebrating Christmas in DW. At least one of my kids was ecstatic and reminiscing about her old friends, Goofy, Pluto, Mickey, etc. Anyway, they're over the shock and are now all excited, but I had to promise to take a tree (I have a small one).

So where do you all set up your tree and does anyone do stockings. If so, how do you get those up in your resort. Also, does Santa do anything special Christmas Eve/Day at the resorts?? We'll be at Boardwalk.

Thanks.

I believe Santa leaves stockings on the doors of your rooms- that'll be nice. Don't forget to take a string or two of lights to hang on your balcony and around your room- kids will love that. I'll bet if you looked into something like GofLT that they could arrange somethign very special an unusual for your family CHristmas morning. Good luck and enjoy yourselves.

See You There!!:wave:

Santa is in the lobby a couple of days before Christmas. Before the renovations some of the balconies were already decorated and they have had a tree lighting ceremony in the courtyard.

My daughter and I decorated small stockings and we use those suction cups with hooks to hang them on the mirror they usually have by the armoir(sp). Stickies on the window. Since we have a sitting area I bring down a slim 6ft. tree (target-$17) and send down a box with decorations and presents.

Look for our room should be on the ESPN side and I decorate the balcony(as has the room next door the last 2 years) and have a light up Mickey and Minnie I try to keep in view with the tree.

Have Fun!!!::yes::

We're taking a small tree (Disney themed of course) to set up on the table in our room at WL. DH has also packed a backpack full of lights........I think there has to be more in there but I'm a little afraid to look. I'm afraid he's going to get carried away with his lighting and get us evicted from the Lodge!

Santa will be bringing gifts for the kids to leave under the tree, but I'm leaving the stockings at home. The kids understand that Disney World is their real gift and that Santa can't bring anything huge or we wouldn't be able to fit it in the van for the trip home. ;)
