....according to About.com Orlando:

i"...Of course the attraction that sets the Animal Kingdom Lodge and its park apart from other Disney properties is of the four-legged variety – animals – and lots of them - at last count nearly 200."

Wow! That is amazing! I cant wait! Thanks for the info.

Thanks everyone!
And we actually viewed the animals at night and it was surreal! My DD (almost 3) just couldn't believe what she was seeing. And of course when we were in our room all she wanted to do was look at the animals. A common question she asked was "Now how do we get down there (to play with the animals)?" It was so cute!

Did they have night vision googles? I have heard they have them at AKL but not sure about the village?

I just realized my son has a cheap set if night vision goggles..... Might have to dig those out of the toy box in our long-forgotten playroom. ;-)

...we were told that the ones at AKL cost over $3,500 each....

I believe that both resorts have them in the common viewing area off the lobby, but don't know from experience.

....don't know where it's located at Kidani, but the night-vision googles viewing area is past the far side of the pool to the left, past the hot tub....

Thanks! I am so excited about that :-)

Hi everyone! My wife and I are planning on staying at AKL May 22-27. Whee! We had an amazing dinner at Jiko during our honeymoon in 2010 and she loved the resort so much that I convinced her to stay there on this trip.

I apologize if this is in the thread somewhere and I haven't gotten to it yet...I'm trying to figure out how many King beds there are in the standard and pool view categories. Does anyone know? I'm really hoping to get a king bed and don't want to do a pool view if it'll decrease our chances. Also, I'm on the lookout for pictures of the view from standard and pool view rooms. Earlier in this thread (or #7, maybe?) someone mentioned looking at pictures of worst views. Is there a link somewhere?

Thanks!

Unless you sit in your PJs in public lol..

:rotfl2:

....yeah....and don't walk around like THIS:
