Glad you had a nice trip! Nice to meet you. How long are you going for in 3 months?

:wave2:

We're doing a WL CL & AKV split stay in March, for 7 days. AKL is my favorite (and the favorite resort of one DS), the other DS loves WL so this will make everyone happy!

I forgot I wanted to report back on the FP+ trial. We had chosen 4 FP for MK and 3 for DHS. While it sounded great in theory, we only ended up using 1 FP. We just weren't in the right park or by that attraction at the time we needed to be. We used the FP for the Wishes Preferred Viewing location in the Rose Garden. It was nice to watch Wishes without being crammed in body-to-body, but getting TO the Rose Garden was difficult with the way the traffic was flowing (or not flowing I should say!)

I also enjoyed the new TT. I was never a huge fan of TT, and I'm still not, but the interactive part is a lot of fun if you're riding with people you know. I'm not sure it would be as much fun if you rode single rider.

Thanks, Brandi!:cool1:

This trip is shaping up to be awesome!
Remember how stressed I was over airfare costs? It pays to be patient...I ended up being able to use airmiles toward the flight down, it's costing me $37:thumbsup2 And my flight home went down from $193-$118:cool1: I called and got a credit, gave my credits to Scott and his flight home is $43:thumbsup2

Plans:

Thurs 2/21: arrival day, should be to AKLV by 10:30am, heading to MK, lunch @ BOG!

Fri 2/22, I have friends I havent seen in years, driving down to meet me:grouphug: I have to go to the Princess Half Expo to get my stuff for the race, then I'll do whatever my friends want.

Sat 2/23, check out of my Jambo studio and into AKLV CL:cheer2: (unless my wait list for the 1st 2 nights should come through, then I'll already be there). I'll do whatever my friends want to do...Have to go to sleep early, 3am comes fast, LOL.

Sun 2/24, race day! What I do after depends on what condition I am in:rotfl:

Mon 2/25, my friends leave:sad:, but Scott arrives!::yes:: He wont get to AKL until about 5:30pm or so, we're just gonna chill.

Tues 2/26, Epcot all day! We have lunch ressies @ Nine Dragons

Wed, 2/27, DTD in the morn...Have the Jiko Wine & Cheese hr booked again:thumbsup2

Thurs 2/28-AK all day

Fri, 3/1. departure day:sad2: We have lunch ressies at Teppan Edo...We dont have to be back to resort until 6:30pm ME.

Great re spilt stay I love it! 7 days is a nice time ( living in WDW in better lol ) . Thanks for the FP+ report. I did not realise you could use it for a wishes preferred view! Do you know how they decide how many FPs you get?

Congratulations on your trip :)

I don't have kids myself, but everything I've heard about Simba's Club has been positive.

Jambo everyone!! We will be staying at AKL on Aug. 6-16:cool1: We are so excited:yay: I have one question. Are there microwaves available for use in The Mara?

I have no idea how the amount of FP was decided on. The only thing I know is that I was chosen based on my arrival date & use of Magical Express, along with many others.

The addition of a FP for preferred Wishes viewing is great! There were 2 areas, the rose garden just to the right of the castle, and then another area right by The Plaza restaraunt.

Hopefully we're there at about the same time. We check into AKV on Jan 30 for four nights, then we move over to BLT. We'll be coming from US/IOA! Cross your fingers that this time it works!

I think that wishes element is worth it alone! Hope they are still doing that in May I am so going to use that :-) thanks for the tip!

We used Simba's club last Friday. DS10 loved it. The staff was really great. This was our first time doing Kids Club, we usually get an in-room sitter so DS can sleep. But since it was his last night we let him stay up.

Just got back from an incredible stay at Jambo! Everything about the resort is wonderful! My heart aches to wake up and not have animals hanging outside our window. I hope to visit again soon! Ideally within a year, but within two years at the most!

Glad you enjoyed your trip! How many animals do you think they have at AKL? Did the CM say?

....so glad that you had a great time!!! Looking forward to your pix....;)

Glad you enjoyed your trip! How many animals do you think they have at AKL? Did the CM say?

....according to About.com Orlando:

i"...Of course the attraction that sets the Animal Kingdom Lodge and its park apart from other Disney properties is of the four-legged variety – animals – and lots of them - at last count nearly 200."

....also:

"...Opportunities to view animals abound on the 33 acres that surround the resort where the animals roam. Besides virtually every room having a view of a savannah and animals, there are plenty of other places to see and photograph your favorite animals – 24 hours a day. That’s right, remember in the hot Florida sun many animals are dormant or move minimally during the day, but at night become much more active. Don’t despair, Disney has got you covered. There are organized, guide-led viewing expeditions where you will use night vision (goggles) binoculars to view the animals. The same technology used by the US military in war in Iraq and Afghanistan is giving tourists at the Animal Kingdom Lodge the opportunity to view animals at night. Besides seeing the animals, the night vision binoculars themselves are a unique experience that I recommend all to experience. At various points around the property there are also handy animal identification guides that make it easy to explain to your family exactly what animal you just saw...."
