Hello all!
I am a bit bleary-eyed after reading through these posts, so please forgive me if I ask a question that has been answered (multiple times).
Originally, I had booked an AoA (Nemo) suite for Marathon weekend (09-Jan to 13-Jan). Then the discounted rates were announced, and I jumped on a Pool View AKL room (for $200 LESS than the AoA). However, I have been having some second thoughts after reading about NOISEY pool view rooms. I requested a king bed with daybed (although TA said that they no longer have this room configuration), 3/4 floor, zebra trail, as far from lobby/elevators as possible. Is this a good idea? We don't mind walking at all, and would prefer a longer walk for a quieter space. I would really appreciate any advice. DH is running the marathon, I am running the 5k (still suffering PF injury, so half marathon is out), and DS7 is running Mickey Mile and 400m. Thanks for all/any advice!
Will the Christmas decorations at AKL still be up on New Year's Day? Or, do they take them down before then? We'll be flying in to Orlando on the 31st and wanted to check out resort decorations...we won't be checking into AKL until a little later in the week.
happysmyly said:We were there on Jan 5, 2011 and all the decorations were still up in all the parks and we went to Boma for dinner on the 9th and the tree was still up at AKL--during that week, the 2nd full week, was when they took them down all over--so the first part of our trip was still holidays and then it was back to 'normal'.
So you should definitely be good to go with getting there on the 31stEnjoy!!
Thank you! We'll plan on touring resorts to check-out the decorations - have never seen the Gingerbread Houses or chocolate Carousel!
