OK - here goes - going to try to share a scanned in pic of the Activities sheet for AKL for Oct 2012

And here's a copy of a blank Hidden Mickey Safari--we got this a couple of nights before we left from a really nice older CM who noticed we were looking at the details in the main room--He walked up to us, gave us this and a little booklet on the art of AKL--am guessing you can get them from the concierge desk too :)

Here are a couple of pics of the laundry room that they have for DVC'ers to use who are staying in a Studio--it has 1 washing machine and 4 dryers - also not shown is a countertop, 2 chairs and a TV--wasn't bad - and I liked that it was on the DVC floor.

Thanks for all the pictures :) they must have taken out one of the washers, there used to be two of them.

Hmm... I think the questions I've seen here are which savannahs, and are there any refreshments? Do they cancel if it rains? Have they been filling up quickly? Thank you! :D

Here is what I have.
10pm to 11 on the Sunset savannah.
10 guest max
Wheelchair accessible
Giveaways are glow in dark bracelet and DWCF buttons
Rain or shine
Blankets available if colder than 60 degrees
Rain or shine. They provide ponchos.

No snacks
Hasn't been filling too fast but they don't even have brochures in rooms yet. CM gave me a sheet that was for CMs that's all they have printed.

$70 for adult or child

Thanks for the information. You got more info than I did two weeks ago from a CM at Kidani.

Has anyone figured out if it can be booked in advance or do you have to book it upon arrival?

Hello all!
I am a bit bleary-eyed after reading through these posts, so please forgive me if I ask a question that has been answered (multiple times).
Originally, I had booked an AoA (Nemo) suite for Marathon weekend (09-Jan to 13-Jan). Then the discounted rates were announced, and I jumped on a Pool View AKL room (for $200 LESS than the AoA). However, I have been having some second thoughts after reading about NOISEY pool view rooms. I requested a king bed with daybed (although TA said that they no longer have this room configuration), 3/4 floor, zebra trail, as far from lobby/elevators as possible. Is this a good idea? We don't mind walking at all, and would prefer a longer walk for a quieter space. I would really appreciate any advice. DH is running the marathon, I am running the 5k (still suffering PF injury, so half marathon is out), and DS7 is running Mickey Mile and 400m. Thanks for all/any advice!

You still have a pool view room booked? I don't think any rooms around the pool will have the same level of noise from the pool as they all more or less surround the pool, so all are equally close to it. But then, I never had issues with the noise from the pool. I found that the glass door is very good at keeping the noise out when it is shut. I only recently heard from someone who was disturbed by the noise of the pool party in the afternoon.

Will the Christmas decorations at AKL still be up on New Year's Day? Or, do they take them down before then? We'll be flying in to Orlando on the 31st and wanted to check out resort decorations...we won't be checking into AKL until a little later in the week.

We were there on Jan 5, 2011 and all the decorations were still up in all the parks and we went to Boma for dinner on the 9th and the tree was still up at AKL--during that week, the 2nd full week, was when they took them down all over--so the first part of our trip was still holidays and then it was back to 'normal'.
So you should definitely be good to go with getting there on the 31st :) Enjoy!!

Thank you! We'll plan on touring resorts to check-out the decorations - have never seen the Gingerbread Houses or chocolate Carousel!

Odd question for you all. We will be staying at Jambo in just over a month and we're working on our order for garden grocer. We are staying in a 2 bedroom with a full kitchen. Do we need to make sure we have dish soap and dishwasher soap, or will that be included with the kitchen? Thanks!

We will be staying in Clermont for a few days and our first stop will be AKL to see the tree and all the other decorations in case they are taken down before we arrive for our stay on the 6th. I can imagine how beautiful it is - the trees at Grand Californian are always magnificent - I just love Christmas decor! When we went two years ago, the Parks were decorated but we were too early in November to see any of the resort decorations! I am thrilled we will have great timing for this trip! :)
