Gosh, I am watching the opening ceremony of the olympics and watching the torch lighting makes me a little misty eyed.

SO what sports is everyone looking forward to? I am looking forward to swimming, gymnastics, and some track and field.

Swimming, dressage (just because of the campaign I admit - didn't know it existed before that!) and archery! :cutie: Is anyone else hearing a ticking sound over the opening?? The quality is awful - tap tap tap tap tap! >_<

Just back from AKL last night and I miss it already. Had a great trip. We had a lot of fun and even had some pixie dust at dinner. Couldn't work Boma in on a night when they have my favorite carrot ginger soup. Anyway, I was talking to our server the night wevdid go and he asked the chef as a suprise for me and he made me a bowl of soup. Even brought it out on a tray with a lid and uncovered it for me. It was very cute and extremely nice and then our server gave me the recipe to the soup. Very small touch, but it was very nice.

We scheduled a bounce back for November for our anniversary while we were there. Our first time since our honeymoon with no kids. We are very excited.

So glad to hear you had a great time. It is an amazing resort isn't it. How nice of your server to go the extra distance and ask the chef to make you your favorite. :thumbsup2 I really enjoy the servers at Boma they always seem to go the extra distance for their guests.

I see you have your ticker up and working for your November trip. That is super. :)

My opinion about our savannah view studio near the Zazu elevator which is the last elevator on that side and the cloest to Jambo.

I love being close to Jambo. Easy walk. Only a few minutes. Less than 5 minutes is my guess and we walk at a leisurely pace.

Zazu elevator not as heavily used.

Plenty of parking near Zazu elevator making it easy to come and go.

No standard view rooms along part of this corrider. Don't know why??? Fewer rooms along this corridor means it is quieter than most other areas.

Access to Kidani pool area? We drive over there and park very close. Easy peasy. No walking through lobby. Only takes a minute. We have done this 3 times and it worked great each time.

I think this is what we did on our Jan 2010 trip, but it was too cold to swim so we never did. Worked out great and we had a room on the second floor close to the elevator. With a portable scooter (3 actually) it worked out just fine.

That is interesting to note that there were not standard view rooms, do they all have Sunset Savannah view rooms?

....still playing Nurse Betty?

Actually that AND DPOA to the demented.

This is the last 10 days in a nutshell.
Mon: Yes, do brain surgery
Thurs: OK take her off life support
Fri: OK put her in rehab
Wed: No, you can't have your cellphone yet, you need to recover
Thurs: Call 911, take her back to the hospital
Fri: OK put her on a ventilator for the pneumonia, let's hope the stroke didn't take away too much of her mobility.
:faint:

And to boot, I canceled the trip for February to Kidani. She isn't going to WDW, and that trip was for her. I do want to get back there, I just don't know when it will be. We're putting Aulani sort of on the back burner for spring 2013, but we have to see how the "Nurse Betty" part goes before we start planning. Maybe we'll do it in June.

With the Gamers DISmeet in Oct 2013 at BCV that puts us at 2014 before I can stay at the lodge again. :headache: I think we're going to have to make a trek out there at least for a meal and to check out the viewing areas in 2013 if not somehow on the 2012 trip (If we can still go on that one).

Really am enjoying the opening ceremony too. Just started about 15 minutes ago here. I enjoy gymnastics, swimming, track and field, archery, shooting and Equestrian.

I am not hearing any sound problems AquaDame. However, we are on tape delay so perhaps they cleaned it up? Loved the "entrance of the Queen of England" very cheeky.

Oh Alison I am so so sorry. What a roller coaster you and Fran have been on  I can not imagine what is going through her mind at this point. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

I hope you had a super good time at DL and got to relax a little.

that is a tough one, I am sure there are people you know on this board who have DVC points that would rent to you which is nicer than going CASH... I rented all of mine out but hopefully you can do something. Those APs are worth a nice get away

Hmmm, quite the predicament. Are you very off? You can rent 25 from DVC directly. Or perhaps do a shorter trip than you thought in April. Or do a value resort. It would be a shame to miss using those APs.

I hate to see our APs go to waste too:lmao: Since my mother is coming with us we need a 2 bedroom and I only have 10pts left to borrow from. Even with renting points I can get a better deal at Bonnet Creek. But I just love staying on Disney property.

But the deciding factor maybe the airline. JetBlue now flies from Providence to Orlando and for the 5 of us in April, it was $4,000.00:scared1: I need to wait for SW to release their dates but at least I still have my Oct trip to look forward to.:goodvibes

All of the above plus Basketball! :thumbsup2 (I think DH is anxiously awaiting the ladies beach volleyball!! :rotfl:)

I can't believe our Olympics (Atlanta) was 16 years ago already! I remember the 6 year "Countdown-to-Olympics" clock and it seemed like 1996 would never get here......... where did all those years go?!!! :confused3

Those Boma CMs were so nice! It's the little things that really make a huge difference.

Gosh, I am watching the opening ceremony of the olympics and watching the torch lighting makes me a little misty eyed.

SO what sports is everyone looking forward to? I am looking forward to swimming, gymnastics, and some track and field.

I had to stop during the entrance of the athletes. Loved the music during the show. Love watching the gymnastics, swimming, and volleyball.

It was a great opening show! Especially loved Sir Paul:love:! I am a nut for the swimming. I watched almost every night of the trials, and the night Cullen was swimming the 50, I had my sister check on her phone to see how he did! Can't wait to see the 400IM today!

you know when I was watching last night, Bob Costas never mentioned Atlanta, he talked about LA but never mentioned Atl! I kept thinking , what is up with the Disss to Atl?

I am interested in mens swimming.. With Michael Phelps is from right here in Baltimore, so I watch him and the fact that he could become the most decorated Olympian every this year is worth watching.

I like the diving events also, it is amazing to see them twist, turn and flip in the air.

Track and field, softball....

Plus there are 20+ Aggies in the Olympics this year so we will watch for them.

Good morning, Js & Ks! :sunny:

Alison - Your life is such a roller coaster right now. I am so sorry...

:welcome: to all the new posters and the returning trip-takers. How nice to hear about trips others are doing! :yay:

Ann

I am very excited! Yeah, the ticker is already going and it's great to already be able to do the double digit dance!

Glad you had a great trip! Even better that you're going back so soon :)

Yeah, they were really nice. We love it at AKL. Been many times and the service has always been great all around the lodge, but this time was really especially nice.

That was very sweet and special!
Glad you had a great time and when you get your dates set, please let us know so I can add you to the list!

We already have our dates set, babysitters in line for the kids, just need to get airfare. Our dates are November 2-5 at AKL. Just a short trip, but with the kids staying home, sure our touring plans will be very different.

Morning & J'S & k'S:goodvibes Remember me?
I missed about 20 pages so of course i cant get caught up. But in skimming through, I just wanted to :grouphug: for Allison.
And I did I read somewhere that Wendy had to cancel her Feb WDW trip?:sad1: Is everything ok? I sure hope so:hug:

Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far:)
