You can get them at Boma as part of your dinner, or you can get them at the Mara, I think they are about $4 for 5 of them in the refrigerated cases.

So glad you found us.... And I have added you to the list...

So did you have a fabulous time?

We did... despite all the rain the first few days we really did have a great time. I even got to get my picture on the 4th with Colonial Mickey,Pluto & Goofy:cool1:

I am just sad that I am not sure when we will be back at AKL.:sad1: I never thought I would love it as much as I do. But we are going to try the WLV for the first time in Oct and we "might" try for a trip in April and looking at staying at Bonnet Creek. But I am nervous staying offsite.:scared:

See I thought I had everything planned out. We bought APs for this trip and then we would use it for April plus my DVC points all we would need to pay was for food and airfare. Well I miss calculated and I do not have enough points that I can borrow from until June,2013.:rolleyes1

So my problem is do we go in April and pay for a room or wait until June,2013 and buy tickets ----> but either option costs me more than I had budgeted. :scratchin

that is a tough one, I am sure there are people you know on this board who have DVC points that would rent to you which is nicer than going CASH... I rented all of mine out but hopefully you can do something. Those APs are worth a nice get away

Hmmm, quite the predicament. Are you very off? You can rent 25 from DVC directly. Or perhaps do a shorter trip than you thought in April. Or do a value resort. It would be a shame to miss using those APs.

My opinion about our savannah view studio near the Zazu elevator which is the last elevator on that side and the cloest to Jambo.

I love being close to Jambo. Easy walk. Only a few minutes. Less than 5 minutes is my guess and we walk at a leisurely pace.

Zazu elevator not as heavily used.

Plenty of parking near Zazu elevator making it easy to come and go.

No standard view rooms along part of this corrider. Don't know why??? Fewer rooms along this corridor means it is quieter than most other areas.

Access to Kidani pool area? We drive over there and park very close. Easy peasy. No walking through lobby. Only takes a minute. We have done this 3 times and it worked great each time.

...thanks for the tip! :thumbsup2

Very cool, and I hope it works out great for you... I made one this past weekend that I call taco pizza... Pizza crust, ground beef with taco seasoning, cheese, peppers, and onions, bake and then top with lettuce, tomato, and sour cream....

This picture is without the cold stuff...

That looks SO good! I will have to try that another time. My DH has his heart set on your first pizza...it it shall be. Did you serve margaritas with it? :thumbsup2

Thank you for the welcome! :flower3:

I guess I have a question. Do they sometimes upgrade standard rooms? DH and I can barely afford to stay here in the first place but since the standard room was on sale it made it about the same price as a moderate (literally only 5 dollars more a night than POFQ). DH and I had to get an accessible room because he is going to have an ECV so we wanted extra room and if his arthritis acts up during the trip we want to make sure he has grabs and whatnot. I was thinking of asking if there were any rooms with a partial view or something but I'm pretty sure we will just get a view of the parking lot. Does anyone know where the accessible rooms are located at and if any have a partial view? Would it be worth calling ahead and requesting a partial view room if possible or should I just say nothing and hope for some Disney magic? Thanks!

Hi Elizabeth so great to see you over here with all the other AKL/Kadani aficionados. :goodvibes Time is getting short for your trip...how exciting. :cheer2: For me the planning, expectation and countdown are almost as much fun as the actual vacation.

Regarding your question about maybe getting an upgrade. All the resorts do give out pixie dust at different times. Sometimes there is a reason such as one level (room type) of the resort is overbooked and the room assigner needs to move a guest or a few guest to a different room so someone is picked to be upgraded to a nicer, better room or view. Other times is pure magic that happens.

My suggestion to you is call reservations and have added to your reservation that this is your 1st visit to WDW, also aren’t you celebrating your anniversary, birthday or something? I think I remember you saying something about that.

With everything you both have been through the last several years you certainly deserve a second honeymoon, vacation, that is super special. When you check into the resort mention to the CM at the check-in desk (working it into the conversation) that this is your very first visit to Walt Disney World and so on. They have buttons they will give you for that, also for anniversaries and birthdays. You will have a great time both wearing a 1st time visit button, and/or anniversary button. People will congratulate you and sometimes you get chosen for something special at a park or restaurant. :)

Sometimes "not asking about an upgrade" and just being yourself, excited, thrilled and coming to celebrate a 1st visit or anniversary is enough for a little pixie dust to be sprinkled on you. pixiedust: It certainly can't hurt! I am so excited about your trip.

Angel-thanks! Yes its also kinda for our anniversary. We said we'd always do trips for our anniversary and we haven't been able to. But our actual anniversary is in may so i wasnt sure how i felt about telling them its our anniversary gift. I was able to add a celebration on our online reservation. I just put 1st visit as our celebration. I will definitely be extremely excited so maybe that will bring some pixie dust!

Just back from AKL last night and I miss it already. Had a great trip. We had a lot of fun and even had some pixie dust at dinner. Couldn't work Boma in on a night when they have my favorite carrot ginger soup. Anyway, I was talking to our server the night wevdid go and he asked the chef as a suprise for me and he made me a bowl of soup. Even brought it out on a tray with a lid and uncovered it for me. It was very cute and extremely nice and then our server gave me the recipe to the soup. Very small touch, but it was very nice.

We scheduled a bounce back for November for our anniversary while we were there. Our first time since our honeymoon with no kids. We are very excited.
