Hi all!
I am staying at AKL in 23 days!!!!!!!!! We are just staying in a standard room so no view but this is my FIRST trip to Disney ever and to say I'm extremely excited would be an understatement.

I joined the last thread but just lurked. Now that I'm getting closer to my trip I may chime in more.

EDIT: I will be there August 19th - 25th for your roll call.

I guess I have a question. Do they sometimes upgrade standard rooms? DH and I can barely afford to stay here in the first place but since the standard room was on sale it made it about the same price as a moderate (literally only 5 dollars more a night than POFQ). DH and I had to get an accessible room because he is going to have an ECV so we wanted extra room and if his arthritis acts up during the trip we want to make sure he has grabs and whatnot. I was thinking of asking if there were any rooms with a partial view or something but I'm pretty sure we will just get a view of the parking lot. Does anyone know where the accessible rooms are located at and if any have a partial view? Would it be worth calling ahead and requesting a partial view room if possible or should I just say nothing and hope for some Disney magic? Thanks!

Sorry about all the rain. We had lots of stormy days last week -- now we're just hot and dry again!

I don't know my trip details yet, other than the dates and the State!

Can't believe school is so close already. Our County goes back August 6th. It's kind of nice to finally NOT have any children in the public school system! Tori's classes at KSU start on her birthday, August 17th.

Yeah, it's RAINING AGAIN!!!! WOW, you guys start school 2 days before us, I can hardly believe the summer is OVER!!!! UGGHH - have a good time on your trip - a NEW Panera bread is cool!!!! LOL

Glad you're feeling better Wendy I'd much rather have rain than the heat we've been having. But of course I usually think the grass always looks greener on the other side....

I'd LOVE it if we had one or the other, but it's hotter than hot here too - 97 today - the rain is NOT cooling it off - just making it ickky!!!

Oh also if you are there on a friday, and love gumbo there is a great southern food restaurant. If you go during lunch they have the best Gumbo, and green apple lemonade. It tastes like a green apple jolly rancher. The restaurant is in the same complex as the cable company, it's super duper small though.

One of the few things i miss there is the food, they had some good restaurants.

I think you should always ask.... I mean if it does not happen, ok but at least you asked, you never know, Disney magic has been known to happen!

Wow... can't believe we moved but I found you

We have been home almost a month now. I was suppose to post the Daily activities for someone and even grab the sheet when we were leaving but after unpacking I can't find it. Sorry.

Our trip was great. We had two nights at the CBR in one of the pirate rooms. Though it was cute it felt like home when we walked into AKL. We had the pool view this time and to me it is just a nice as the Savannah view.


Brandi... can you add me to the list for October. We will be there from Oct 4-8 but staying at the WLV for the first time.

Very cool, and I hope it works out great for you... I made one this past weekend that I call taco pizza... Pizza crust, ground beef with taco seasoning, cheese, peppers, and onions, bake and then top with lettuce, tomato, and sour cream....
