About a 2 minute car ride, or a 5 minute bus ride (the DTD bus goes Jambo to Kidani) or a 10 minute leisurely walk!

Grab any park bus at Kidani -- it will stop at Jambo before leaving the property! (The DTD bus goes to Jambo, then Kidani, before heading off property.)





Actually only 7 days -- travel in day/travel home day!

I usually live on salads when traveling for business. Sometimes don't get to eat dinner until 9 or 10pm -- a little late for a steak dinner! (but not too late for libations!! )

Sue isn't it strange how everyone else is well into their day by the time some of us can get on a computer.

I really do have jet lag the first couple of days I am at WDW. To make rope drop after coffee and something to eat at 8ish East Coast time my body is getting up at 3:00 AM pacific time.

It's brutal, I agree! I'm glad I usually fly into Ft. Lauderdale first for a week to visit family, so get rid of my jet lag there gently! No rope drops and can sleep in the first day or so.
But the times I fly directly into MCO ugh!

Oh also if you are there on a friday, and love gumbo there is a great southern food restaurant. If you go during lunch they have the best Gumbo, and green apple lemonade. It tastes like a green apple jolly rancher. The restaurant is in the same complex as the cable company, it's super duper small though.

One of the few things i miss there is the food, they had some good restaurants.

Hi, I'm so glad I found this thread! My DH and I are DVC members since 2009, and AKV is our home resort. I'm still stunned that we bought DVC as my DH swore he'd never buy a vacation club membership of any kind. I'm very happy he changed his mind!

We'll be at AKL 10/20 - 10/27 staying on the club level. I'm ready to leave now!

I found this thread because I'm looking for more information on things to do at the resort. We loved our first stay two years ago. I'll be reading the AKL threads to see what things to do are your favorites and what you think are the hidden gems of the resort.

Decisions, decisions, decisions. Our plan for our November vacation was a split stay with 4 nights at Boardwalk and 5 nights at Old Key West. We were planning to fly back home the Monday after Thanksgiving and neither of us has to go back to work until the Monday after this. The only day during our stay that MVMCP is on is the Sunday. Graham has no interest in going and it has kind of become a tradition that we have a really nice meal on the last night. So I have been wondering if I should just add a night to our vacation. We have the points to do so. Unfortunately there are no studios available at OKW for that date. We do have enough points for a One Bedroom and I am quite curious about this, but I wonder if it is worth moving rooms again for one night. What do you guys think?

I don't know if you are at all into the jacuzzi tubs but OKW has the BEST tubs of all the DVC resorts! I would go for it!

I just Googled them. They are nice, but for those prices I rather have another Dooney and Bourke. I have a purple wristlet in the Cindy Sketch style. I also have a DCL Sketch wristlet and small Tassle Purse, a Disney Dream cross body bag, the Disneyland Retro iPad case and the Tinkerbell Half Marathon tote. My wish list is astronomical at the moment. I would love something in both the WDW and Disneyland Paris Retro prints, the Cindy sketch back pack, the new DCL print, the Aulani print and I love the iPad case in the charms print. Well, a girl can dream.

That is the real temptation. I would love having the jacuzzi tub in the room and having laundry facilities in the room the last day would also be lovely. For now I have just waitlisted for a studio.
