It's kind of fun to do the impossible - Disney with a 1 month old *new 2/13/15*

Joining in! Loved your last TR, looking forward to seeing how you handled WDW with the new addition :)

:welcome: thanks for joining! Handling the other 2 was the bigger challenge :rotfl:

Wonderful thanks for the car seat information. DM has a smaller convertible seat in her vehicle that we will probably use for the plane, since ours is rather bulky and heavy.

I think we were blessed that the last time DS was on a plane, he wasn't able to walk, only army crawl so he was content in our arms. But now there is NO way that's going to happen. He'll also be over 2 years old so a seat needs to be purchased anyway. He's always happy in his car seat so i'm sure he'll be comfortable.

Thanks again!

You're very welcome! Even beyond the plane, having the somewhat smaller one will be easier for carrying around and just handling in the airport, etc.

Yay for arriving! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Kudos to you for traveling at night with 3 kids after a 2.5 hour drive to the airport. I could never fly with my kids when they were little. I just didn't have the guts or the fortitude or whatever it takes. But you pulled off with no hitches. Glad you even found a new airport to fly from. $65 for 10 days???? Gotta LOVE that!

How fun to start your trip with a beach trip!

I had NO idea you could by a sunpass in CVS and put $ on it??? REALLY? What a great idea. Why did i NOT know this? :confused3 The only thing better would be if they would just CONVERT TO EZPASS!!!!!!! Seriously, at any given time half the state of Florida must be filled with visitors for the northeast and midatlantic. Why no EZPASS? What ARE they waiting for???

Sorry. Rant over!

Fun update!

Joining in. I admire you traveling with three young children. We had one very stressful trip when our daughters were 1 and 3. As a result we didn't go on a vacation for almost 9 years. THen we went to Disney and haven't stopped since. Infact one of the reasons we became DVC members was to make sure we keep going back. And now that our oldest is 20 a she has applied for the DCP and anxiously awaiting her answer now!

Oh wow - that must of been quite the experience. Sorry you suffered that - but glad you found Disney and it works so well for you! Very best of luck to your daughter! I am sure she is anxious - I know I would be. Part of me wants to go back to school just to do the DCP :lmao:

Thank you, but I should say it wasn't just from the stressful vacation. Just busy with life and work, but after going to Disney and having such a great time we realized how important vacationing with our kids was to us. We did not want to wait that long again. Now all three of our kids are Disney lovers. Our oldest dream is to work for Disney. So the DCP is a good start! So excited for her, we are all on pins and needles. If she doesn't get accepted this first try she will keep applying while she is in college.

Thanks for messaging me about the TR starting up! Sorry I subbed in so late, starting my junior year and volleyball has been eating most of my DIS time!

great start! Stressful-sounding but great nonetheless! First, love the pic of the kids at the hotel where they're gathered around baby -and the follow-up was even better! That captured the essence of siblings... it only gets "better" :lmao:

Second, love, love what you did with Judi's band! If you advertised (which I'm sure would cause a retail riot of some sort) you'd get women from all over asking for a VB patterned magic band! I mean seriously, this is home of the Hipster in all patters new and old! Great job! Haunted Mansion is in my top three of all times so I love the pic on yours also!

Can't wait to read the rest!

Glad you all got to Orlando! Missing one bag, not too bad considering the number of items you were keeping track of!
I love little airports. Our tiny local one is adorable -- two gates. An in and an out! Hehe

It actually worked out ok flying at night - not sure if the kids were just more mello or what. And we flew back super early which worked out well too as Peter wound up sleeping much of the flight :thumbsup2 ... maybe I am just jaded by NYC parking prices but $65 for the entire trip with quick and great service made me pretty happy!

Fun update!

It worked out really nice to have a little "down" time after the craziness that was the traveling down and so glad we figured that out about the sunpass. We went through the first toll to pay by cash and noticed the little pampletes they had and took one. Then just used our phone to find the closest CVS and it worked great! Only thing with the mini version (which is what we got and was $4.99) it is a one time use thing so would have to buy another one for the next trip and thus had to be careful to not put extra $ on it.

I know, seriously - get with the program and get EZPass :lmao:

yeah, life and work does tend to get in the way - but glad things worked out in the end! Definitely will be sending her and you positive thoughts - but great that she has the attitude to not give up and keep trying ... I am sure that energy will carry her a long way! :thumbsup2

No worries - just getting going here. Best of luck with the coming year - and sports can take up so much time!

Those two pictures of your kids on the bed are adorable!

Aw, thanks so much - I think they are really cute and love that they just kinda did it on their own, we didn't pose them or anything

Thanks Gina! Really just the drive and arrival at the airport was super stressful - the rest went better than I hoped really.

Thank you - it definitely captures them - they can be cute then serious then silly then winy in like the matter of minutes. Glad to hear it gets "better" :rotfl2:

Thank you so much - I do think her band came out well! Just not sure how I could sell anything like that with not owning the images. Wouldn't be surprised to see some designer bands come out in the future though given that they are doing special bands for Frozen and the Halloween party, etc.

Hopefully another post coming later today!

Yeah, it definitely could have been worse! More just frustrating than anything - but actually getting there with all the important things and the important people was definitely key.

This airport wasn't super tiny - it's technically an international airport ... just much smaller than the mega NYC airports and I guess that late at night on a Wednesday was just super empty

Love the magic bands, a great idea. Your kids are so cute, can't wait to hear about your adventure.:surfweb:

Part 5 - Pre-Disney Florida - Wednesday August 20th- Sunday August 24th

Before I get into today's update did want to mention that today is Olivia's first day of Kindergarten! It was definitely a bit emotional sending her off this morning - and also a little odd after all this time of keeping her tied down in a car seat in our car to just put her on a school bus driven by someone we have never met and just let her go. But she is totally ready and will do great - and I think all of us will be happy to get back into a bit of structure.

Here is a picture of her from this morning:

******************

Ok, so as mentioned last update we were going to spend a few days with family down in Boca Raton before the actual Disney morning of our vacation.

In fact, it was this family portion of the trip that was really the genesis of the trip as the main goal was to introduce Emma to her Great Grandmother:

We were very fortunate that Judi's Aunt and Uncle have a rental property in the area that wasn't currently rented and they let us stay there - it was definitely wonderfuly to have our own space and spread out a bit. So Uncle Adel and Aunt Judy - if you are reading this: THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!

While there we had some pool time and also hit up the beach one day. I love going to the beach but also kinda get over it after about an hour or so. Plus for this northerner the water was so warm it kinda felt like taking a bath :lmao:

But we definitely had fun - especially Olivia who didn't want to leave.

One other way you could tell we were from the North is that we were way too excited about all the little lizards you see running around:

We also were able to go out for some nice meals including to one of our favorite places: Buca di Beppo! I know, I know it is a chain, but we don't have one where we currently live and were excited to see one as we actually had our wedding rehearsal dinner at one. The food was as good as always - and as huge as always .... love the giant bowl of tiramisu!!!!

While we were in Florida, Judi celebrated her birthday - so I had a fruit bouquet delivered and her Aunt had gotten her a cake - definitely nice to celebrate a bit:

Oh, and while there we also managed some cute pictures of Emma:

Lastly, while out shopping we happened upon one store that carried a lot of children's clothes and had this child-sized maniquine out front ... for some reason Peter too a shine to it and kept giving it hugs. Figure this picture will be a good one to show him when he is like 16 :rotfl:

Next update we will cover arrival at the Contemporary!

LOVE the Magic Bands! Especially the Haunted Mansion one, but the child Snow White one is really cool, too.

Thanks Jon! They were fun to put together - I knew from the start mine would somehow be related to the Haunted Mansion

Olivia looks so cute for her first day of school!

Lovely pictures of the first part of your trip :)

she was just so excited - been like bouncing off the walls the past few days!

Thank you! Tried to figure out a way to not ignore the first part but also not take too long before getting to Disney :goodvibes

So precious with Olivia heading off to school. Big day.

Ah yes, the Disney Math that makes a Disney trip so easy. We're going to be down that way anyway so it would be silly not to go...

Wow, that fruit bouquet is beautiful Phil.
