It's Here!! We're Leaving for WDW!!! Travel Day!!

Jaime...glad you're enjoying it so far...good to hear that you performed your civic duty well! I'm proud of you!

Lisa...kudos to you for hosting Easter at your house. I have to say that this year it didn't feel like Easter due to all the traveling...we did have some Easter activities to report about later, but not our usual sunrise-service with Papa, breakfast with the In-laws, church later, pretty dresses for the girls, wake up and find Easter baskets/eggs, dinner with the family...I missed it! But, we did have a great vacation!

I'll be back in a bit...I'm off to break a promise to Chief that we wouldn't have McDonald's today because I haven't been to the grocery store yet and that darn Key to the Kingdom still doesn't work here at the house! Where's my DDP??? lol I will try to get our first full day posted on here this afternoon...we have today off as our last day of Spring Break and then it's back to school!

I had decided the night before that I wasn't going to torture my family by making them get up at the crack of dawn to go to the AK after finally lying down to sleep about 1:00 AM...and AK is not our favorite park...soooo we slept until we woke up. At about 8:00 AM everyone begins to stir...Chief claims he didn't sleep at all, but I know that I only slept a bit in my excitement to finally be at WDW (I kept waking up and looking around to make sure I wasn't dreaming) and everytime I woke up, he was snoring to beat the band. Boo and Lou inherited their father's early morning genes, so they didn't sleep too late, either. We got up and were working on showers and getting dressed when I heard Boo from the balcony saying that she sees the Flag Family on the roof, raising the flags. I proudly say "No, honey, they aren't doing that anymore...I read on the DIS that they aren't" Here's the resulting conversation:

Boo: But, Mom, there are people up there and they are doing something with the flags.

Me (as I am towel drying my hair): Honey, I don't know what you are seeing, but I'm telling you...I heard they aren't doing that anymore.

Lou: I'm going to go see.

Chief joins them on the balcony.

Lou and Chief: There are people on the roof with flags!

Me (running across room to take a look for myself): Oh, my gosh! It is a Flag Family!!

Chief: Some good that DIS board is!

Me: (nothing...I just scowl)

We finished getting dressed and I made it my mission to investigate further...how could this be true? I know that someone on the DIS said they don't do this anymore...or did I read it on AllEars? YIKES! We made our way down to the CL food offerings, but I refused to sit down and eat until I had an answer. I asked at the CL desk if they still do the Flag Family. "Yep, we sure do!" I asked if we could do it at some time during our stay and was told that they could go downstairs and ask at the lobby concierge desk because the book was there. I said that I didn't mind going down myself...I just was in such shock! So Boo and I race downstairs and ask at the desk...a nice gentleman got the book....took a look...and it turned out that both Saturday the 7th and Sunday the 8th were available!!! I quickly said Saturday since we were leaving at 4 AM on Sunday and then he told me that only 6 people could go up. I told him mark us down for 6 and I'll settle it with the family before Saturday. Boo and I skipped back upstairs and on the way decided we would try to trick Chief and Lou...we walked up to them with disappointed looks and sighed big sighs. I said, "I have bad news...only 6 of us can be in the Flag Family!!" :yay: :cool1: Boo was on cloud nine:cloud9: because if she hadn't known what she was looking at, we never would have asked...I'm going to hunt down that thread or that piece of information that told me that there was no more Flag Family and let everyone know that YES!!! They still do this at the WL!!!

We found muffins, bagels, some kind of fruit turnover pastry, croissants, cereals, fresh fruit, juices and coffee (coffee which I don't drink but Chief said was TERRIBLE!!) and got what we wanted to eat before sitting down at a table to enjoy our first meal. We finished up and headed for the elevator when I remembered that I forgot to add the rest of the crew to our Wishes Cruise reservation and I knew from experience that they need to know the number of people and kids to have life jackets available. I stopped at the CL desk again and was told that I would have to call the resort recreation number and hands me a piece of paper with the number on it. I called right from there on my cell phone and get a voice mailbox...I leave a long-winded and probably very confusing message and before we got off the elevator, was speaking to the resort recreation manager who assured me he changed the reservation right then and there.

Off we went to the AK bus stop, enjoying the BEEEUUUUTIFUL warmth and sunshine and made it to the AK about 10 AM. On the bus ride over, I issued the plan of attack: We would enter AK, walk to EE to get FPs, check to see what time the new Nemo show starts, and then make sure we get to Rafiki's Planet Watch at some point. Before we even made it into the park, we stopped at the gift shop right outside the gates and bought sunglasses for Boo and a visor for Boo, Lou, and Chief. Boo chose a light blue one that says "So not a Princess!", Lou chose a really cute Minnie Mouse visor and Chief got a nice AK one that didn't thrill me as much as a baseball cap (something about my DH in a baseball cap just...well...does it for me!!), but is what he wanted to wear to keep the sun out of his eyes and his head from sweating. While we are there, a CM asked Boo about where she's from and how she's enjoying her vacation so far. Pleasantries exchanged, she then asked Boo if she would like to send a postcard to anyone. Without her best friend's address memorized, she chose to send one home to Nana and Papa...that was a nice touch and we were pleased to see it hanging on their fridge when we went over for dinner last night!

We get into the park, finally, got a show times guide and got our FPs for EE and discovered that the Nemo show won't be starting too soon. We decided to walk over to Dinoland and rode Primeval Whirl with a 10 minute wait (and laughed all the way through the ride). We found ourselves with a little more time to kill, so we decide to check out the wait time for Dinosaur. I tried to talk Boo into going on it for a try and she flat out refused. She and I waited by the exit in the gift shop while Lou and Chief ride with about a 20 minute wait. When they come off, it was almost exactly 30 minutes before the new Nemo show starts, so we found our place in line to wait and were glad the waiting area is shaded. Chief and I exchanged knowing glances complete with little grins as we listen to some ladies in front of us talking about WDW...they really didn't have a clue. I whisper/ask Chief..."Should I give them some advice?" He whispered back "NO!" so I was not very magical and kept my mouth shut. I might have been more forthcoming if they had been paying more attention to their children running around and acting all crazy...I'm a parenting snob sometimes at WDW...can't help it!

We got in the theatre and had just sat down when the cell phone rang...it was Tumor and they were arriving at the WL as we spoke. They had decided to stay at the resort that day to unpack and get settled (I was a little disappointed and thought that it was a waste of the day, but it wasn't a waste of my day!). We made plans to meet up right before our WCC reservation for dinner and then waited for the show to start.

I really liked the show...mesmerized by the puppets and actors...and loved the songs. I liked it a lot better than the Tarzan show (although I have to say that Tarzan was a family favorite...both movie and soundtrack...for a couple of years when the girls were smaller).

We left the Nemo show and headed over to EE to use our FP. Chief patted me on the back as we saw that the stand-by line was now 70 minutes long and that the FP return time was now for 4:50 that night. I just have to say I LOVE FPS!!! It always feels so good to whiz past a long, hot, tired line of people who look at you with the questioning glances...every time I think "You didn't have to wait in that line, you fools." I never say anything about that fact, though, because secretly I hope there will always be such foolish people...more FPs for us!!

After EE we decided it was time for lunch and Chief had looked at the choices while we were waiting for the Nemo show to begin and wanted to try Tusker House. When we walked in, there are many, many people waiting in line, but I spied a line 3 people deep aaaallll the way away from the door instead of 15 people deep right near the door. I think some people forget to pack their brains and just follow any crowd they see (they assume the lemming mentality). My philosophy (which I repeated way too many times for the comfort of my traveling companions) is that "The Path Less Traveled will Get You Far!" and "Don't be a lemming!" I left Chief in line to order with Boo and took Lou with me to hunt down a table. We found one in an almost secluded little room at the end of the restaurant and snatched it up. We Nextelled our location to Chief and before we knew it we were snarfing down what was probably the best CS meal I have ever had at WDW. I had the chicken sandwich, Chief the salmon, and the girls had chicken nuggets. We all shared a hearty laugh at the "gel-type" dessert the girls got with their kids meal. WDW didn't even take the time to give it a souped up name or make the packaging appealing...we made jokes like "Would you want to eat a chicken-like sandwich?" I know they can't use the name "Jello" for obvious reasons...but couldn't they come up with something better than "gel-type"?

Full and happy, we caught the next train over to Rafiki's Planet Watch to see what it was all about. It was a let-down to us...we're used to the Bronx Zoo and can see if you don't have a world-class zoo nearby how this would seem like, soooo awesome. We petted the goats, watched a trained sheep, had a CM explain about different types of animal poops, and then head back to the train.

We had accomplished everything on our list for AK (things that we had never done before .... other than EE), so we headed back to the resort for a quick rest before we had to get ready for dinner. When we got back to the room, we were happy that our luggage had "magically" arrived and that we had a handful of pretzels, gummy bears, and cookies and a cold soda to grab in the CL lounge. The girls and Chief took a snooze while I unpacked and got our stuff all organized.

We finally laid eyes on the rest of our traveling crew when we made our way downstairs to WCC. We checked in and were seated almost immediately in the corner by the hallway to the bathroom and I was, at first, a little disappointed. The last time we ate here, we were in a corner on the other side of the room and felt as if we were out of the fun...plus we had a dud of a waiter. I shouldn't have worried, though, because as soon as I heard our waitress introduce herself as Head of Lettuce, I knew we were in for some fun. She was sassy and I knew Yes, Officer would not disappoint by being his usual self. Yep, he was nick-named "Trouble" by Head of Lettuce and got picked on all throughout dinner. Once, his cell phone rang and she reached for it, but missed the call. She checked his messages for him and everything! She threw straws at us and made Tumor sit on a napkin when she asked for a second glass of iced tea but refused to go to the bathroom. When the pony race was over, she made Yes, Officer give out the prizes.

Yes, Officer handing out prizes:
SpringBreak2007WDW012.jpg

It was a hoot and we left with full tummies and smiles on our faces. We decided not to have dessert thta night ~gasp!~ because it was getting close to time to go to the marina for our Wishes cruise. Yes, Officer left to go get a bottle for Prince and Chief made a visit to the bathroom in our room...let's just say that a tummy ailment runs in his family that strikes at the worst possible moments and he didn't want to get "caught" on the boat....it was a preemptive strike!

We walked down to the marina dock and found no one there other than a family enjoying the beach. The father came up and tried to give us some helpful advice: "You need to head to that other dock there to catch a boat" We explained that we were waiting for a fireworks cruise, thank you, and he proceeded to ask a ton of questions which led us to believe that he was wanting to come along...Nope, sorry...no room on the boat.

Tumor and I decided to take these few minutes to head to the bathroom ourselves (she needed to especially after all those teas...shoulda listened to Heada, Tumor!) and when we come back, we find Prince half naked...he had soiled his pants through his diaper and there was no change of clothes in the diaper bag...I'll be happy to go on an off-topic rant about how I don't understand how you can have two children under the age of 5 and not pack changes of clothes for them at all times...but it wouldn't serve any purpose.
Sooo...we all hung around and waited for Eeyore and Yes, Officer to get their act together and soon we were out on the lake and getting a great view. Princess loved the boat ride and was a lot of fun to watch. We snacked on chips and had our sodas and got to see the EWP before our boat was parked in front of the MK for Wishes. It did not disapppoint!! I made some sappy statement about being able to share this with the people I love the most and thanked everyone for coming to WDW with us.
Here's some pics I snapped on the cruise:

We asked the driver if he could drop us off at the MK. He said he couldn't, but he could drop us off at the GF and we could catch the monorail over. Eeyore and her crew decided to head back to the resort and Tumor joined us for some more adventures.

We made our way to the nearly empty monorail station at the GF and Boo asked if we could ride in the front. The CM said he'd check but that even if it was available, only 4 of us could ride up there. Chief told us that if it was available, he'd ride in the back (that's why he's my Prince). The train came in and we got the okay...off we went with our new co-pilot licenses! Pixie Dust! When we got to the MK, Shelby starts to panic because she left her card in the hotel room. Doh! We decided to pretend to notice she doesn't have hers at the turnstile and hoped that the CM would be kind. He was ever so kind and told us that it was no problem...we thanked him profusely and collectively sighed that our journey was into the MK and not to the hotel.

As we made our way onto Main Street, I mentioned my idea about finding a spot to see the second Specto. Chief almost lost it and said that if that was all we were here to do, he's going back to the hotel right then. See, we've seen Spectro three times before and only truly enjoyed it once due to crowds and other craziness...so I gave up on the idea of Tumor seeing it that night. Tumor said she didn't care and that we should go try to ride a ride at night. We wandered into Frontierland on our way to BTMRR when Boo saw some CMs challenging some teenagers to a hoolahooping contest...so she walked right up and told them that she can beat any of them....and did!

Go, Boo, Go!! Boo holahooping it up!:
SpringBreak2007WDW018.jpg

One of the CMs gave us all FPs good for any ride and we all cheered Boo when we got to BTMRR and saw that it was a 50 minute stand-by wait and no more FPs!! We rode the ride and loved it at night, but decided that we were pretty pooped, after all. By that time, Spectro had reached Frontierland and the crowd watching it kept us from being able to walk anywhere easily. So, we sat on a wall and watched the parade after all. I think Chief was growling at me the whole time though and I tried really hard not to smile, laugh, and enjoy the parade so he wouldn't think that I had planned this all along. We made our way out of the park when the parade was over and got to the resort boat launch just as a boat driver is pulling up the rope...he looked at us rushing all the way there and then just took off...honk, honk, honk! We sat down and tried not to fall asleep on a bench. Finally another boat came and we made it on that one...I silently said a prayer of thanks for a wonderful day, the company of my beautiful family, and the announcement that the WL would be the first stop. We said our good nights to Tumor and plan to meet in the morning to get to the MGM opening.

I looked and looked all over the boards to find the place that told me that the WL was not doing the Flag Family and thought I was crazy....couldn't find it, couldn't find it...then...did a search with the phrase "no more flag family" and came up with it!!

Here's a link:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1340421&referrerid=&highlight=no+more+flag+family to the closed thread...closed because the discussion took a turn for the worse, but there none-the-less!! So, I'm not crazy! But it was wrong, wrong, wrong information!!

Wow. Don't know where to start. Lots of comments rolling around in my head. So I'll just keep typing nonsense.

Seriously, GO, BOO!!! You show them all how to hula-hoop!

Um, when my girls were really tiny, we used to find ourselves out all the time without a diaper bag... :confused3 I don't know why. But we did. Suppose we were lucky we remembered the kids half the time!

Great installment. Can't wait to hear about being the Flag Family.

Holy cow! Look at the time! I have to go to bed!

I'm in! I can't wait to hear more about this whirl wind! Sounds like you are all having a great time so far! I hope it stays that way...

Jaime, I guess not everyone is a list-maker-over-planner-about-everything-including-things-not-related-to-WDW person like me...I tend to forget that sometimes...I think the not having a proper diaper bag packed bothered me most because Eeyore stresses about even little things in life and it didn't make sense to me that she could avoid having some stresses by just being prepared...she would get into a situation with the kids by not being prepared (pee/poop disasters, food all over the clothes, uh...11 month old wanting his bottle and not having one) and get over-anxious about it to the point of making everyone else super uncomfortable with her anxiousness...I just felt like she could have avoided the overwhelmingness of those situations (which are just gonna happen when you have a 2-year-old and an 11-month-old) by simply having what she needed with her. If she had just been lax about being in those situations, I wouldn't have cared...they're her kids!

Just found your TR today, gotta say i'm hooked! :woohoo: Looking forward to the next installment. Hmmm.. I read the whole thing while at work today...I'll call it trip research for our December trip, that way it doesn't seem like I was goofing off all day :lmao:

Amy -- I am the same way. We carried the diaper bag along everywhere until long after the boys were out of diapers. You never know when you'll need snacks, a change of clothes, book or toys with little ones. I wasn't a girl scout, but my motto is "Be Prepared"! :<)

Speaking of which, I have been working on all kinds of lists for our trip. We are down to 8 days now! Each park has a list (which includes things we have discussed we can skip over this time) and each hotel/resort that we will be staying at (2) has a list of things I have read online to be sure we take advantage of or see. Then there is the overall list of what we are planning to do each day, the clothing list, the grocery list for when we first arrive, etc. Next I need to work on maps since we will be renting a car.

Yep, I'm a list person too! -- But I don't think it is overplanning, it will just help us utilize the time most efficiently. :<) I know us, and when we don't have a plan, we stand there trying to make decisions -- far too often the dialog goes like this -- "I don't know, what do you want to do, oh, I don't know, what do YOU want to do? Oh, I don't care....." Far too much time wasted. Instead, while we are still at home, I give them a few options and let them choose. This way, the compromises are already taken care of (let's hope anyway, we'll see soon enough!).

Can't wait to read more of your trip report. Sounds like lots of fun so far!

After sleeping the night away (although Chief insisted yet again that he didn't sleep a wink...me ears knew different, though!), the whole crew met up at the bus stop to MGM. Our crew had had our continental breakfast in the CL and were ready to go. The Eeyore crew hadn't had anything to eat yet and I was trying really hard not to scream at them "What's the point of getting to the park at opening time if you are just going to spend the first 45 minutes EATING?!". I didn't scream and I just chanted the mantra "it just doesn't matter, it just doesn't matter, it just doesn't matter" silently in my head. I told the crew my plan: Eeyore and Yes, Officer could secure strollers (uh...they had their own from home, but wanted to pay Mickey a few more dollars to use two of his :confused3 ) while Tumor and our crew could hot foot it over to Sunset Blvd. to take care of ToT and RnRC business. Eeyore said she wanted to ride RnRC so we decided that Chief, Lou, and I would ride ToT while Tumor and Boo went to get FPs for the whole gang at RnRC. We decided that we would meet Eeyore and Yes, Officer and kids down that way after they found something to eat along the way.

The park opened and we were off. Lou, Chief, and I were thrilled that there was like, no wait to get into the library of ToT and as we went into the room, I loudly whisper to Chief "Follow me! If we stand by the far side of the t.v., we'll be the first ones into the queue line on the other side of the door!" I guess the dad of an English family overheard me and I hear him tell his crew "I'm going to follow her...she seems to know what she's doing." Once the door opened, we walked down the path and I noticed that once again, the people ahead of us had chosen the lemming mentality and were grouped up on the pathway to the right. I, following my tried-and-true philosophy, confidently led my DH and DD down the pathway to the left. The English family follows right along (everyone else behind us stopped and were like..."huh?" and then went right and assumed the lemming mentality). We rounded the corner and were immediately assigned a row in the next elevator. The English man said to me "You're good!" and we all enjoyed the fruits of the Path Less Traveled as we screamed with delight on our ride.

When we came out of the hotel, we quickly met up with Tumor and see that our FP return time will allow us to go get a quick ride on Star Tours. I decided that while they ride ST, I would be a FP runner for LMA since we were in possession of everyone's tickets. We attempted to call Eeyore and Yes, Officer 3X and finally decided to leave a message for them telling them of our plans. I parted ways with Chief, Tumor, Boo and Lou as they giddily saw that it is only a 10 minute wait for the ride and I booked it to the back of the park to get the LMA FPs. It was lonely and desolate back there, but I succeeded in getting the FPs...no FP machine...just two CMs standing there with a huge stack of them...weird, because I remember there were FP machines last time I went...I think...

I made such good time and I knew that Chief would spend some time looking in the gift shop, so I parked my rear on a curb outside ST and took a moment to look at the Times Guide. I realized that if I wanted to keep my promise to Chief that we would come back to the WL for a swim before dinner, then we would have to see the 1:30 High School Musical Pep Rally (a must do for the girls) and that if were were to go to LMA, we wouldn't make the rally. I figured out that we could make the Indiana Jones show, though, so I decided that on our way back to Sunset Blvd, I would get FPs for IJ and let Eeyore and Yes, Officer decide which one they would rather see.

We made it back to RnRC with two sets of FPs in hand: LMA and IJ and I explained the situation to them. Yes, Officer really wanted to see LMA, so I took the FPs for the 5 of us (Tumor decided to hang with us) and ask the lady sitting next to us if she would like them. That made me feel good...see...I can be nice and spread magic...and I more often than not do. The day before at AK I think I wasn't feeling like sharing the magic because I was pouting that the other crew didn't come out to play with us.

Everyone but Yes, Officer and the babes Rocked and Rolled on the coaster and came off smiling and happy. We went our separate ways with plans to meet for lunch at the Backlot Express. IJ was just as I remembered it even though I hadn't seen it for about 4 years. I picked out the plant almost immediately. First of all, his shirt was just too obnoxious. Secondly, when they came back from their wardrobe fitting, he actually adjusted his robe...everyone else's were loose and not looking right, but they were too amazed that they had been chosen to worry about what they looked like...it was a dead giveaway for me. I asked Tumor which one she thought was the plant and she agreed with me...and in the end...we were right!

We shuffled out of the stadium and right into an uncommonly uncrowded table area for the Backlot Express. Uncommonly, I say because it is prime lunch time. We scooted two tables together and arranged chairs in anticipation of Eeyore and crew's arrival. Chief heads for the bathroom and I decided I needed to go, too, a few minutes after he leaves. There was a bathroom caddy-corner to the restaurant and I was glad there was a small line. I didn't fall in and I returned to the table to find everyone there but Chief. I called his cell phone and ask him where the heck he is and he tells me that he went to the bathroom by the big hat because he knew where it was...we couldn't help but tease him when he got back...he could've gone back to the hotel because he knew where that bathroom was...or back home to NY...hee hee.

We ordered lunch in shifts and it was an okay meal. We learned that Princess freaked out (or Eeyore...not sure which) at LMA and they didn't stay to see the show. The Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground was not for kids of her age, apparently, so that was a bust. They were going to go back to the hotel.

After lunch we made our way over to the pep rally spot and run into the characters from Cars.

Here's Tumor and Boo with Mater and Lightning McQueen:
SpringBreak2007WDW019.jpg

SpringBreak2007WDW022.jpg

We find that a front row has formed already at the rally so we get behind a nice family who looked like a DH, DW, DD, DD, DGM, and DGF all enjoying their vaca together. Tumor spied a shady spot off to the side to go sit in and Lou, surprisingly, joined her a few minutes later. The DH of the nice family told Boo to go sit up front with his DD because his DS didn't care about the show...DS announced that he would care about it, but that his sister had made him see the movie and listen to the music soooooo many times that he was sick of it. Boo joined in and when the parade got there, she got to toss a basketball into a hoop and got up to dance with the dancers. She was in heaven. I couldn't get a great shot of her, though, because even though we started out in like, the third row...you know how it goes...we ended up about 6/7 people back.

SpringBreak2007WDW023.jpg

SpringBreak2007WDW024.jpg

When it was over, we made our way back to the hotel to swim. We changed clothes and came back to the pool to find no chairs available. Undaunted, we lay our stuff on a rock and make do. We didn't have too long to swim before dinner, anyway. We just love the WL pool...the ducks landing right next to you, the sound of the brook, the geyser, the surroundings...just wish they had more room for more chairs!

We swam for a bit and then went up to change for our dinner at Chef Mickey's. We got on the boat and headed over to the CR.

Here's the group traveling over to the CR:
In the back we have Tumor holding Princess, Chief and Boo and toward the front we have Lou giving some kind of "gansta" sign, apparently, sitting next to Eeyore holding Prince. I guess Yes, Officer (Eeyore's husband) is blocked or hiding somewhere.
SpringBreak2007WDW027.jpg

When we got to CM's it was CROWDED. We checked in while Princess squealed and said "Mickey! Mickey! Mickey!" as she saw him circulating among the tables near the check in desk. We got our buzzer and had our family photos taken had a seat and BUZZ....it as our turn! We were seated just beyond the buffet, up a couple of steps and in another room that felt incredibly clausterphobic with the shade drawn over the windows. We knew it was to keep the sun from making the room an oven, but we planned on asking close to sunset to have the blinds raised. I think our waiter was a couple of crayons short of an 8-pack but it was a buffet... The meal was really blah...the desserts especially had been sitting WAY too long ( the rice crispy treat was stale and the mini-cheescake had formed a nasty crust on the outside of it) The characters seemed rushed and I completely missed Donald and Goofy (as did everyone but three of us)...and they never came back around. Yes, Officer kept saying everything was soooo good...hmm...but Chief and I were disappointed. I began to notice that Eeyore was hardly smiling at all and as I watched her, she seemed even more depressed than usual. I wanted to say "Smile! Enjoy your kids!"

We left CM's and headed back to the WL whre Chief, the girls, and I played games in the arcade before coming back to the room to collapse. We had our fishing excursion tomorrow to look forward to and had planned to stay at the hotel all day long.

Oh! before I forget! I took these pics of Lou's finger and toe nails on our first day...we had gone to get manis and pedis on Thursday evening and she chose (I swear, Chief, I did not influence her in any way!!) LIME GREEN!! That's my girl!

Just found your TR today, gotta say i'm hooked! :woohoo: Looking forward to the next installment. Hmmm.. I read the whole thing while at work today...I'll call it trip research for our December trip, that way it doesn't seem like I was goofing off all day :lmao:

Sounds good to me, nolacindy!! Glad you're enjoying your...trip research! hee hee

Lisa, I'm glad I'm not the only one...lol. Sounds as if you and I could travel together ANYTIME...we'd have lists of our lists and then have to compare lists as long as that was on our list...lol

:goodvibes I just started to read your trip report and i ABSOLUTLY LOVE IT

:cool1:

Hollywoodhaha, I'm suffering trip jealousy...you, Maddie2, tiggerbell...all counting down to trips and here I am counting the days since! I'm glad you are liking the report so far...I'll post another update as soon as I can!

Boo was looking over the trip report so far and she pointed out to me that I left out one of the most fun and new thing we did at AK that first day...

So...here's where it would go....

After riding EE we made our way over to the Tusker House for lunch and on the way, we stopped briefly to get a FP for Kali River Rapids...we had never gone on this ride before because it has always been a bit chilly and we've never spent a whole heck of a lot of time in AK anyway and we really wanted to try it out on this hot day. Sooooo...we ate, went to Rafiki's Planet Watch, and THEN rode Kali River Rapids.

We were seated on a boat with a nice family and we all laughed and had the best of times getting absolutely soaked. It was a lot of fun and had the line not been at a 70 minute stand-by time, we would have ridden it again.

Boo also wanted me to mention that we all wore our camo shorts/capris that day and our camo shoes (flip flops and sneakers). One CM on at EE told us not to worry...the Yeti wouldn't even see us in our camo!

So, sorry that I left that out...I'm trying to remember it all and even though I took notes and all, I'm sure I'll have more of those "oh, yeah...I forgot about that!" moments. So, read on, Boo and Lou and Tumor, and keep me from leaving out any good stuff!

See...I knew I'd have more of these "oh, yeah, I forgot" moments. Lou wants me to add in that when we got to the WL late on Friday, they were absolutely thrilled to find the new autograph books and EPCOT passports waiting along with not one, but four towel animals: a dog and three duckies. And we were all sleepy but super impressed with the chocolate canoe filled with chocolates and the fact that our beds were all turned down waiting for us...we didn't have to request turn down service this trip and couldn't wait to jump in the cozy beds while enjoying the WL chocolate/mints on the pillows. During the trip we got a LOT of towel animals...I don't remember on which days each of them showed up, but we ended up with two dogs, a Minnie-Mouse-type doll, three duckies, a medium sized bunny and three baby bunnies. We would come back from the parks and find them hanging out with Pal Mickey watching the Disney Channel...Mickey is apparently a remote hog because he always had it in his hot little hands.

I am trying to catch up. DH and I are sharing one internet connection as we are having computer "issues". Plus our builder has sent us out on a paint, flooring, tile, carpeting, lighting quest this week.

Had fun in DC. Snowed... but fun. Will fill you in. Gotta let the hubby have the wires :)

Glad you are back and writing.

Kelly -- good to see you on -- have fun choosing everything for your new home!

Amy -- Epcot passports -- is that something with the Kidcot stops at Epcot? We did that 3 years ago and I was going to ask you if it was the same thing again? It was a mask on a stick (from Mexico) with cardboard charms gathered in each country and attached with a plastic ring. DS9 hopes they are doing something different this time.

The boys still have room in their autograph books, so we don't have plans to purchase new ones. They've already determined that we can skip the characters they have already met/rec'd autographs from. That should save a tremendous amount of time. However, they do want to hunt down the pressed penny machines and need new books for coins. I am going to try to scan the pennies they already have so we don't make duplicates.

(I hope you don't mind me talking about our trip so much here, I am not trying to hijack your thread; it's just that when I read your reports, it reminds me of things for our upcoming trip). If I decide to do a trip report when we return, I promise to start my own thread (though with my memory, I know I wouldn't remember as much detail as you have -- yours is GREAT!). BTW, the towel animals sound adorable!
Thank you!
