It's Here!! We're Leaving for WDW!!! Travel Day!!

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is in Downtown Disney. They do dress up hair, nails etc for girls and boys. The have packages for boys. I saw a picture of a boy with a Mickey Mouse head painted on the back of his head. I don't know what else they do for boys, but you can find a thread on it here on DIS and on the Disney website.

I agree with you. Sometimes you just have to let the guys think they came up with the brilliant idea!

We have never been ice fishing. We hardly get ice or snow. We live in NC, but not where there is a ton of snow/ice. I wish we would get a little just for the girls. We have only lived here 3 years and they have never really experienced sledding and snowmen and all. Now, I don't want feet of it, just a little to play in and a day or two off for fun!

:)

This afternoon the gang all came over to share some pizza and to have a planning pow-wow. Everyone was in attendance except Chief and Boo. Chief had a funeral to go to and Boo was at a playdate. Probably just as well...Chief would have been grumbling the whole time! Boo is an old hat at this WDW planning...she's memorized almost as much as I have about the place and can talk circles around a lot of grownups who "think" they know a little something about the place!

Everyone arrived, we called in our pizza order, and I got to printing, stapling, and punching holes. Tumor walks in saying "I thought we would have our own dossiers all laid out on the table." Hmmm...hadn't thought of making travel folders for them all...

Wow! They really were looking for some direction...so I rushed into my computer room and began printing the contents of my Disney Plans file...itineraries, menus, daily events, park hours...I had it all. Grabbed two more yellow folders, decorated the covers with a Mickey icon, and inscribed their names on the front...viola! Travel folders for them all!

Princess kept coming into the room wondering what I was up to...my goodness she's cute! I am a little biased...not only is she my niece, but she just is always so happy to see me! How could I not just eat her up? It's funny, too...she had learned to say everyone's name but mine...she just saved the best for last! Ha! Really, though, it made my day to hear her say my name!

I digress! After I turned over the folders, Tumor and Eeyore began looking through them and we managed to clarify lots of expectations, plans, etc. Poor Yes, Officer had finally agreed to take a nap upstairs (he had not slept yet after his tour of duty and wasn't much good to us at that point...the vacant stare was a dead giveaway that it was time for him to catch some zzzs). Prince wasn't far behind him.

Tumor and I let Eeyore know about the grocery service that could deliver some food to their WLV. I answered any questions they had. Don't worry, I gave props to the DIS...I would say "Guess where I learned that little tidbit of info...you got it...the DIS!"

Yes, Officer and Prince finally awoke and Yes, Officer had a chance to peruse the folder. Tumor and I laughed later about how he just didn't seem to get the Dining Plan (food and eating to Yes,Officer are VERY important...he does not want to go hungry at any cost)...when I made the itineraries, I did not specify which CS restaurants we would go to...those are flexible and dependent on where we are in the parks or elsewhere. He was very concerned that I hadn't listed more than one meal a day..."But we get two meals a day on the Dining Plan, right?" Insert my explanation about 1 snack credit, 1 CS credit, 1 TS credit per night per person. "So we can only eat dinner on the dining plan?" Insert my explanation about 1 snack credit, 1 CS credit, 1 TS credit per night per person and add explanation of how you could use them in any order for any meal you want. "So I can't have breakfast on the dining plan?" ARGH! In his defense, maybe he needed to get a few more zzzs!

Chief finally made it home from the funeral, had a piece of pizza and settled on the couch. Tumor held up the yellow folders and said "Look what we have!" He asked if I called them to attention, line up and face forward before handing them over..."get ready, she's going to line you up at the park gates 'Attention! Hand out! Receive ticket! Forward march!'" That led to Lou and Eeyore pretending to recieve and march to orders. I'm not THAT bad, am I? I know they are just giving me the family ribbing!

The last WDW discussion had to do with t-shirts. I really want everyone to have a matching t-shirt to wear at some point and we have been playing around with several ideas. Tumor had a good one: a play off the Mastercard priceless commercials. We could have different tag lines on each one like "Watching Yes, Officer devouring turkey leg(s)...priceless." "Watching Eeyore deal with crowds...priceless." "Seeing Chief cave into another Disney vacation...priceless." Then we could put our names on the back and when we are together, then those around us can figure out which one of us sucks the turkey legs dry, which one of us can't stand the crowds without freaking out, and which one of us is wrapped around his girls' fingers. I figure we would be doing two good things with t-shirts like those: making ourselves easily identifiable in a crowd and entertaining the guests behind us in lines. Just doin' my part to spread the WDW magic and fun! lol

Well, it's late and my February break officially ends today...back to the little kindergarteners tomorrow. I have missed them and can't wait to hear all about their adventures! So, off to bed I go, dreaming Disney dreams, of course!

P.S. The rest of the gang's ME tags arrived and they are all set! Whew! Crisis avoided!

How fun! I can't wait to see photos of the "backs" of all of you -- the t-shirt ideas sound great!

I've been going through our summer clothes from last year and need the boys to try on shorts. My reason (to them anyway) will be the upcoming garage sale -- but in addition to that, it will help me pre-pack!

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique will probably not be on our itinerary. Even though they do boys, that would not be of any interest to either of ours. I may have to peek in when we are in DTD though -- sounds cute!

With the house to myself, I need to get busy! Take care!

We are going to have to hire the fairy dear to plan out for us!!! I want a yellow folder too!

:)

I am so excited for you :)

Ok People....Do Not Let this women fool you...She had the audactiy to tell me yesterday that she was NOT a disney comando, but then pulls out a piece of paper that has all sorts of information regarding each park and what they are doing and when they are allowed to take breaks etc...I swear I feel like Faries has missed her calling...but I would not be eating or wandering around a park if it were not for her!:cutie:

Boo, Lou, and I came home from school this afternoon to find our final travel documents from WDW waiting for us in the mailbox! I practically skipped to the house (not easy to do with all the slushy snow outside) and delayed even going pee to open the chunky envelope. Inside I found our hotel details, our dining plan details, and vouchers for a 5X7 photo, a sea racer rental, and mini-golf. Added to that were a certificate for Planet Hollywood and four beautiful new luggage tags. Now I am really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really excited!!:yay: :yay:   :cool1: :cool1: :dance3: :cheer2:

I didn't know that we were getting all that stuff...somehow that didn't register on my radar when I made the reservation. I'm especially happy to have the new luggage tags. Both Boo and Lou play the violin and they had taken theirs to put on their violin cases to distinguish them from the 50 other black cases that always seem to end up in a pile after every concert. I think they should market a line of Disney violin cases...we would buy one!

Anywho, I'm off to call Eeyore and Tumor to ask if they got their chunky envelope, too...and tell them where to put it....

in their handy dandy yellow travel folders, of course! :cool2:

Panotchr, I would love to make you a yellow folder, too...but I don't know if you'd want to stick it out with the rest of my gang...they can be a funny lot!

Maddie2: If we get the t-shirts put together, I will do my best to post a picture...I haven't figured out how to do that yet, though!

SlinkyDog: Do you think they have seen you for the Tumor you are? Love ya! And know you love me, too!!

agggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh! I want OUR vacation time to be here! Lucky, lucky you! We'll be at the 50 day mark soon -- I may have to start a countdown then -- or not, I think it might just make it that much harder thinking about it every day!

DS9 is practicing piano and DS12 is at tennis practice, so I have some time here -- love, love, love to read your updates! You know you are hooked when you come here before checking your own email!

I'd be skipping up my slushy (actually icy here) driveway too! Did you use AAA? I know we'll have a bunch of stuff coming too. That reminds me, I'll have to be sure I get to the mailbox before the kids do from now on!

Slinkydog -- you lucky dog, you! Sounds like a crazy bunch, but loads of fun! So when you are in marching line, does she make you whistle The Mickey Mouse Club song -- or perhaps the Whistle While You Work song? Must be rough -- all that organization! :<)

Your folders sound so neat! I have a folder going too -- but not decorated -- yet. Once the boys know, I'll glue some Mickey head punchies to it.

On the road to planning -- I ordered a new digital camera today! Yippee! One with a much better zoom, can't wait to practice with it before the big trip! Wa-hoo!!!

I don't know how to post photos either -- heck, I don't even know how you get those cute smilies within the body of your post! (note my :<) above). I can only get them to go with the title.

I'd better go figure out what I'm going to make for dinner!

I have 165 days until our trip!!! BUT, we did decide today to put our house on the market and build a new one! Okay.. so that is not nearly as exciting, but at least I will have something else to think about and hopefully make the 165 days, 11 hours, 15 minutes go by more quickly :)

LONG day in Kindergarten today. It must have been a full moon somewhere.

No snow on the ground to skip through, but we did have a little Disney magic in the form of pink crocs for Lily waiting in a box at the doorstep. They look too cute on her little feet!

Y'all have a wonderful day tomorrow.

Well, there's really nothing new in our trip planning today...just got home from a long day in Kindergarten (Panotchr...I think the full moon moved northward today!) and I am pooped! I am thrilled, however, that the trip is now only 31 days away!!!

Believe me, I have felt the torture of seeing other DIS tickers tick down right in front of my eyes and feeling as if my trip isn't getting any closer...it happens the minute we get home from a trip and only ends when I am within about 10 days of the next trip. I can only imagine what I will go through once this trip is over...DH is pretty adament about not going back anytime soon and I have to honor his wishes this time. After all, he has given in to my addiction for many, many years and he has earned the right to be repaid! I just know that I do cry every trip when we are taking the bus back to the resort on that last day...just knowing that the next morning I won't be waking up in the happiest place on earth...knowing that I won't be able to just stroll out the front door and hop on a bus to fun, adventure, and the resulting smiles on my family's faces...it's just too much for me each and every trip. I hope I don't make a complete fool out of myself on that last bus ride in April! If any of you see a 34-year-old woman hysterically crying, face full of the snots, eyes red and puffy beyond recognition sitting next to a completely embarrassed DH, know that it's me! lol

Maddie2: Have fun with your new digital camera!! And, good thinking on getting the mail yourself...you never know when some piece of WDW magical mail might find its way into your box!

Panotchr: I've been reading and reading about these Crocs...Tumor and I are intrigued! Now that she will see they come in pink (her all-time favorite color), I'm sure she'll say she just HAS to get some!

Are you talking about the Disney crocs? Aren't they cute? Do you know where they sell them -- I've seen them on ebay, but they have to be available elsewhere too.... ??

Tumor and I are the most excited, I think...well, I can't really say that because Boo and Lou are excited, too, as usual. We've been getting even more excited as we hear stories from friends who have just returned from trips to WDW during the February break. One of Tumor's friends got some Wishes granted and Tumor's boss who's also the parent of one of my kindergartners and who also is a friend of mine (whew! that's my long-winded way of saying "our mutual friend") got dream fastpasses at AK one day. She also mentioned something about seeing a drowning child saved at one of the pools...but haven't gotten the full details on that one yet. Hearing about their wonderful times at the Happiest Place on Earth has really, really gotten us fired up and add that to the fact that our trip is only 30 days away!!!! and we are bouncing around like Tigger on Starbucks!:tigger: :tigger: :tigger: :tigger:
We had dinner together tonight and most of our conversation was about our upcoming trip. I have faith in the magic, but really hope this trip is super magical for her...as I mentioned before, her last trip was not even what I would consider a "real" trip. When she talks about it, I just want to cry because she didn't get to experience much of any magic. I'm so glad that she's excited and just pray that she's not disappointed!
Well, we're just stockpiling spending money, thinking about shopping for new clothes for the trip, and working out arrangements to get to and from the airport. This week is speeding along nicely...I was worried that after the break it would s-l-o-w-d-o-w-n because we actually were facing 5 weeks of school w/o any days off before the trip. But, here we are on the other side of the week and now I know that if time keeps going this quickly, we'll be flying in an airplane, looking out the window, watching the clouds go by...flying in an airplane, looking out the window, up so very high....
I just had a Barney flashback! lol...go on, all you moms out there know that song, right?

And I've tried so hard to forget Barney....... ;<) It's been years!

I saw my travel agent today -- and she had new WDW brochures!!!! She said our US tickets came in too -- but she'll hold them until everything arrives and she can give it all to me in one big package. I sat and looked at the brochures/maps in the car as I waited for my son to come out of school. It is beginning to feel more real now! I think I may be entering the giddy stage.

Goal for the next couple of weeks: get WDW scrapbook from our trip (3 years ago!) completed -- or at least close to finished! Are you scrappers? I'm am not fully into it, but I wish I was. I've had fun buying and collecting the stuff. :<)

Maddie2: I actually didn't mind Barney because Boo LOVED him...she would get soooo excited to hear/see/talk/sing/anything to do with him. I get the best reaction from her now, though, by just singing one of the songs or mentioning his name....the look of utter disgust is just so funny. I just know that if he's still on the kiddie radar when she grows up and has kids that she'll be turning them onto the big purple dinosaur, though.
I'm glad you are getting in some of your tickets and things...I know it would be hard to let a TA keep them aside for me...I would want them and want them NOW! lol
And scrapbooking...hee hee...I do have one that I got as a Christmas present from my mom (like two years ago) that is sitting in its box all ready to go. I thought about starting it when I found all the stuff from previous trips, but it got no further than that. This being our last trip and all, I have grand ideas of putting it together this year...Tumor...do you hear me? Tumor! I know you want to scrapbook with me! :thumbsup2

why fairy I would love to scrapbook with you...however i have no camera..im saving my babysitting money for a new one. I like to scrapbook, i had all sorts of scrap book up in VT, but alas I left them there....in my opinion its all about the extras that make a good scrapbook...Maps,napkins,matchbooks,ticketstubs,phots..well i willl see you soon.princess: princess: princess: princess: princess: princess: princess:

I am exhausted. Had a full day with the kindergarteners and Boo and Lou had a plethora of afterschool activities today. Within the last few days Chief (DH) has been telling me he wants us to go on the fire department ski trip...we have never been skiing...I hate to be cold...I have a million and one things to do...I won't be able to check in with the DIS...I don't have a pair of ski pants...it's virtually last minute...my list of excuses not to go is infinite!

I moaned and groaned and "yes, dear"ed him all this week...and this morning before he left for work asked him if I have to go. Yes, he said. That and pack tonight while he is out for a fire department meeting, make a ferry reservation, find the hotel with Mapquest, clean out the car, go to try to find a decent coat for snowplay, etc.
What?! Well, needless to say I was not a happy camper thinking about this trip today.

I called him during the day to complain once again and we got testy with each other. I was mumbling in my mind all day about this ski trip and dreading the rush we would have to be in to get everything ready so that we can leave right after I can walk out the door at school.

Then, in the 30 minutes that the girls and I had to sit down at home before heading out the door again, Chief makes a surprise stop at the house before his meeting. He tells me that he knows that I don't want to go, but that he is really looking forward to the trip because he is looking forward to getting out of town and relaxing and doing something fun with his family. He won't have to run out the door to take care of something at work, he won't have to run out the door to the next Chief's Investigation, he won't have to think about anything but enjoying us. Needless to say, I felt about 3 inches tall after he said that because I know that my DH is the hardest working person I know and that he does it all for me and our children. He bears the stress, he goes without sleep, he gives us pretty much whatever we want. I can give him the family weekend he's asking for, then.

So, I went and made the arrangements and am in the process of packing for this trip. To put things in perspective, if he came home and said "Let's go to Disney tomorrow for the weekend", I would be running around like a chicken with its head cut off and would make it happen. Why do I love traveling to Disney? Because I enjoy sharing magical moments with my family. So, we're just going to make some magical snow memories this weekend. I'm sure they have pixie dust in the mountains, right? I'll be sure to let you know when we get back. In the meantime, enjoy each other and if any super breaking news hits the DIS, post a note to me on this thread so I won't miss out! :)

Oh yeah! I forgot to add something to the post before................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
only 29 more days!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great time on your ski trip. Just remember that its quality family time and I am sure that you will find some dixie dust and magic. And you can come back and tell us all about it.:goodvibes

Here's some to get you started. pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Have fun! Be careful and take lots of pictures! Snow pictures make the best scrapbooking pages! :<) If you don't want to ski, you can probably go tubing -- which your kids would no doubt LOVE!

We are enjoying snow-filled days too -- in fact my kids had a snow day today -- and school has already been called off tomorrow! El blizzardo of the decade! DH was stuck out of town, but made it back here a couple of hours ago. Nice to have everyone home safe and sound. Tomorrow's plans include snowboarding in the backyard, hot chocolate, chocolate chip cookies (made them tonight, yum!) and Disney Scene It! Gotta get those kids in a Disney frame of mind -- even if they don't know we are going to WDW in April! :<)!!!!!!!!!!

Fairy -- once you get there, I bet you'll love it. No housework, no running the kids here and there, just family time. It'll be great!
