It's Going To Be A Jolly Olly Holiday In Disney PTR I've got one foot out the door!!

Hi, Joining in on your PTR fun!!! It's interesting because I have a 13 yr old boy too. And while i'm planning, there are challenges because he is getting older  But just like your son, once he gets to Disney, he's about 5 yrs younger. Too cute!!!

Love your Mickey head countdown, that should be exciting to do every day. I can't wait to make my countdown calendar. The kids love helping out with that.

That is so exciting!!!

Way to go Gawd :cheer2:

:welcome: Thanks for coming over! It challenge with a teen boy! But, he will have a good time I'm sure! Maybe we can share ideas about making it enjoyable for the teens!!!!

Thanks! The kids are really enjoying doing the questions every day...partly due to their competitive nature!!! LOL Being able to make a countdown is SOOOO exciting!!!

That is so exciting!!!

Way to go Gawd :cheer2:

Thanks! He was really proud of himself and we were really proud of him! Isn't it a great feeling knowing that even as they get older you can still have those really proud parent moments??!! It makes me want to walk him out in front of everyone and say: "Did you all just see that? I made this person and he hit that!!!" LOL That may embarrass him or I probably would do it!

What a great feeling for both you and Gwad! I miss watching my kids play sports.

YAY GWAD!!!!!!

It was great! I was walking on air the rest of the day! I asked him what he was thinking when he hit it and he said he wanted to jump up and down, but decided to play it cool and just run the bases! LOL I thought that was pretty funny! It is so rewarding as a parent watching them make accomplishments!

Thanks so much!

It was SUPER exciting! If I can't find anything Disney related, I will write about baseball again! LOL So, there is a good chance you will hear how they do!!! :lmao:

I'm all about hearing how they do now! I'm totally invested!:goodvibes Don't forget your camera next time! :snooty: LOL! :rotfl:

OK...I'll report in every now and then about the team's progress! LOL I will try to remember the camera from now on! I don't know how I forgot it...it's usually attached to my hip!

Awesome! That's ok girl. I was just giving you a hard time. I know how it is with a camera. Mine is usually attached to my hip too so I really beat myself up over it when I forget it.

How did your September trip go? Have you started a TR?? I can't wait to see your MNSSHP pix!!!!

Our September trip was awesome. :thumbsup2 We celebrated our anniversary and got lots of nice little surprises. We did the DxDP, which was also awesome. I loved the signature restaurants, although I can't make a habit of eating like that. I will start my TR soon. I've been very busy with the kids' soccer games since we got back.

Congrats to GAWD for having such an awesome game! Congrats to the team for doing so well. Sounds like you had a great weekend - very cool. My DS 16 played baseball up to 9th grade and then finally had to drop it because it conflicted so much with traveling soccer. Sometimes i miss it! Thanks for sharing your baseball story.

Holy crap!!!! Can anyone believe how close this trip is getting??? I am so excited! I know many of you are also excited because you will be there in December also! For those of you that are not going for the Holidays, your next trip will also be here before you know it! I will be the one jealous then!!! For now, before I know it, suitcases will be packed, planes boarded and check-in time will be here!!! From today, I only have 63 days!!!!

Anyway, since I was overly excited about where we are in the countdown, I figured it was a good time to post J-Pa's last surprise.

There are actually two parts to this surprise...just not on the same night.

So, here we go...

Part 1: I have spoken to the custom cake people at Disney about having a cake made to celebrate our anniversary. I am hoping this comes out ok. I have given them the description of what I want and it's in their hands now. It will be an 8" white cake with buttercream frosting and chocolate peanut butter mousse between the layers. The fondant is supposed to be green, white and a bit of black. Around the sides I asked for a Celtic knot design (I know...again with the Irish!) For the top, I want some sort of shamrock design and the words: "Mo Anam Cara". That translates to "My soul mate" in English from Gaelic. I was actually thinking about getting this as a tattoo somewhere. J-Pa has a celtic cross on his one arm and around it are the kids' names and my name. I told him I'd never get his name on me (just in case - LOL). So, I thought that was the next best thing! I just don't know where to get it. Anyway, as for the cake, I've never dealt with the bakers at Disney before, so I don't know what to expect. I just hope they can make my design turn out! (And, I hope it tastes good for the price!) Any thoughts, please let me know!

Part 2: I am ordering a basket from the Disney florist. It includes champagne, 2 Mickey flutes, some chocolates and cheese and crackers. I think there is an autographed Mickey and Minnie picture included also. J-Pa will have no interest in that, so it'll probably just go in the scrapbook. This will be for one of the nights we are at AKV so we can enjoy it on the balcony with no kids. (The kids can go to bed and we have a seperate room.) We will need a couple of hours kid-free by then! Plus, we really won't have any early nights while we are at POR. So, that leaves me at AKV!

And, that my friends, wraps up J-Pa's surprises. I think I have been a good wifey and made some solid attempts here to keep him happy in Disney. So, after all is said and done, I'll let you all know what he thought in my TR!

Hope the cake turns out like you pictured it.

I love all the little surprises you have planned, makes the trip extra special. :thumbsup2

Your surprises sound wonderful!! I have never dealt with the Disney bakery before either, but really, I mean it's Disney so I think you'll be just fine! I love the Celtic knot design, you'll have to take lots of pictures. DH's wedding band actually has a Celtic knot design etched around it. He's not Irish, but I am!! And it was just looks so cool and I love the idea/meaning behind the Celtic knot.

The basket sounds lovely!! We got a set of Minnie/Mickey flutes the last time we were down there to use at our wedding. They're very cool looking and like our favorite flutes to use for any special occasion. Anyway, take pictures of the basket too!! I've looked at the Disney florist website before and all their stuff looks beautiful!!

You are a good wifey indeed! I have seen pictures of the cakes that the disney bakery produces and they all always look superb! I'm actually considering ordering one for my bff while we are at wdw. Not sure how that all works though. Like you, I'm afraid they won't get it how I want it and then I'll be mad I shelled out all that $$$. I'm trying to make you feel better about this here though so I better just shut my mouth :rotfl:

The champagne thing sounds great too. Very romantic! I'm sure he's gonna love all of it. Can't wait to see the pictures in your TR!!!!:thumbsup2

WONDERFUL SURPRISES!!!

I too am looking into a custom cake for our trip...a Christmas edible image one but I don't think they offer that at WL and for the moment we aren't eating at Chef Mickeys so my only other 2 maybe options if they do it would be Crystal Palace which we're not 100% sure if we're going, Ohana on our last day there, or YC for the first night we're there. I guess I better call them and figure it out!!!

I can't wait to see the pictures! Where are you getting your custom cake? My mom got me a fairy godmother rose wand from Disney Florist and well it was beautiful and I still have it!!!

Hahaha!!! I was actually cheering for them this past weekend just to annoy DH and kids!!! :rotfl2:

My little sister used to do that to my mom & me. She would rook for the Yankees... or as my mom prefers: the Crankees

-----------------------------

Your surprises have got me thinking... should I be that nice to Shamus? Nah :rotfl2: Just kidding... I may have to do a lil research...

You are a good wifey

Great surprises

Can't wait to see that cake :goodvibes

Those are great surprises! I hope that your cake turns out okay. I'm sure it will - have you seen those awesome cakes on the cake thread?! The basket from the florist also sounds like it will be really neat. Bring on December!!

Those are great surprises. I love cake!!!!
Time is really flying, funny how not too long ago all of us were counting down the days until we could make ADR's.

You are going to have a wonderful time celebrating your anniversary. In addition to your wonderful surprises, you will receive a few unexepected surprises yourself. We sure did!

Awesome! That's ok girl. I was just giving you a hard time. I know how it is with a camera. Mine is usually attached to my hip too so I really beat myself up over it when I forget it.

I hear ya!!! I actually wanted to make the two hour drive home to get it that weekend!!! LOL Crazy huh?

I can't wait to read about your trip!!! :woohoo: Make sure you put the link up!

Thanks! The team that he is on now (travel team on the weekends for fall) has a few more regular season games left over the next three weekends. After that is playoffs and championship...we'll see how they do! It is a lot as they get older to do several sports!!! Time to focus on one!!!!

Hope the cake turns out like you pictured it.

I love all the little surprises you have planned, makes the trip extra special. :thumbsup2

Thanks! I hope so too!!! I'll be sure to take pix of it!

I am hoping everything planning goes off the way I am picturing it! We shall see.... I love doing little surprises for him (if I can keep them a surprise ever!) He does so much for us...he's well worth it!

I will take plenty of pix for sure! The know design is the only thing that worries me. It seems as though it will be tough to do with icing?? But, that's why they are the professionals and not me!

I will get photos of the basket also. I had wanted it delivered and in our room when we got back from the park, but it has to be signed for because of the alcohol. So, I will have to wait until we are there and they will bring it up. Oh well! I am excited to have those glasses to bring home!!!

I think I went into sugar shock just thinking about what to put in / on the cake!!! As far as ordering...I just called and talked to the proper department and they gave me an e-mail address to the baker. I e-mailed my requests and that was that. If you need the number...I can give it to you. Just let me know! It is more expensive the more detailed you get. I think the starting price for the 8" cake was $35.

I am hoping he like the surprises so much that he wants to let me book our next trip! I already have two options in mind! I want to go see MNSSHP (even if it's just the two of us for a long weekend) or to take Poot for Star Wars Weekends (since he's a big fan).

WONDERFUL SURPRISES!!!

Um...do you have the number? I thought WL was one of the choices to have the cakes?? If you need it, I have it and can give it to you! I know they said they had edible images as an option for decorating.

I will absolutely be posting pix on my TR! We are having it at our California Grill dinner. (I guess we will just skip the regular dessert there.) The wand looks cute!

My little sister used to do that to my mom & me. She would rook for the Yankees... or as my mom prefers: the Crankees

Your surprises have got me thinking... should I be that nice to Shamus? Nah :rotfl2: Just kidding... I may have to do a lil research...

I love to just annoy them! On one of our Disney trips, we ran into a whole group of cheerleaders from Boston. Well, the moms that were chaperones for the trip were discussing the Red Sox on the bus on the way back to the resort from HS. (I should let you know that I think they were indulging in some adult beverages a bit also.) Anyway, DH decides he will get in on the discussion! I was not pretty! He was outnumbered! They harassed him the whole ride! They called Jeter "Cheater" and were too funny! He should have known better than to try to go into battle with some "under the influence" Sox fans!!! His bad! I actually told him about you being a fan and he said "Why do you put me in a situation where I will have to fight with people about the Yankees?" So, you should definitely wear a Sox something to AK!!!!! :rotfl2:

You are a good wifey

Great surprises

Can't wait to see that cake :goodvibes

Thanks! I can't wait to eat that cake!

Those are great surprises! I hope that your cake turns out okay. I'm sure it will - have you seen those awesome cakes on the cake thread?! The basket from the florist also sounds like it will be really neat. Bring on December!!

Fingers crossed! I hope so too! I did see them on the cake thread...that's what sold me on ordering one! December needs to be here tomorrow!!!!!

Those are great surprises. I love cake!!!!
Time is really flying, funny how not too long ago all of us were counting down the days until we could make ADR's.

Thanks! Me too! I have have the sweetest sweet tooth! After this trip my dentist will be going to the bank on me!!!

Time does seem to be flying! I hope it continues! There is a lot to do until then, so that sgould help keep it moving! You are right! It was like a month ago that we were making ADR's!!! September is here and gone! That's ok! Good riddens! See ya next year! I don't need October or November to hang around too long, either!
