It's Going To Be A Jolly Olly Holiday In Disney PTR I've got one foot out the door!!

omg you are just full of great ideas, aren't you!? I love it!! I'm SO gonna make my calendar this weekend! DH will think I'm nuts but that is nothing new. :rotfl:

Home Depot here you come!!! You are not alone in the DH thinking you are nuts department! We are all in the same boat on here!!!!! :rotfl:

WooHoo!! :yay::yay: (they better have those Disney paint samples stocked up!) Well, I'm glad I'm not alone in that department. My DH loves Disney too but he thinks I go a bit overboard sometimes

Awww that is so cute!!! I love it!!! I'm sure you'll all have fun guessing and peeling off the numbers!

Hmmm .... do you think I can do a countdown - even though its just the Mr & Mrs going?

At least your DH is into Disney...mine not so much! So, he REALLY thinks I'm crazy and going overboard!!! Oh well...he is learning to deal!

yeah I'm lucky when it comes to that. That stinks that yours isn't really into Disney but at least he goes. :thumbsup2

Hey, how would you feel about each day, (or when you get a chance) posting the Trivia question of the day on your PTR, I would love to play along.

You could do it with DH...each make half the questions if he would be willing! That way you could answer some, too! But, I LOVE the paper chain idea! That sounds so cute! Would you add a link each day, or take one away? I think that idea is adorable! Whatever you do, take pix and post them!

That is actually the solution we actually came to. We're going to do a 60 day could, I'm getting together theme park trivia and DH is getting Disney movie trivia. I will let you know more details once I have finished. I am pretty lucky DH is totally into Disney. He's the one that started all this, he has been many times and our first trip together was his idea. He's a good sport and is willing to play along and research Disney trivia for our very kid like count down (minus the kiddies :lmao:)

Okay so the construction paper chain: this is a throw back from my 80's childhood. My brother and I used to do one for like every holiday. So how it works is you make a chain link for the amount of days left then you tare off a link each day. It actually might be something fun for Lulu and Poot. They can each have their own in their room and can make then with whatever color construction paper they want. As a kid we used to hang them off the banister.

I love all your ideas for the surprises...but I'm partial to the daily surprise in the morning (mostly because that's what I'm doing:rolleyes1)

Your countdown is ADORABLE!!!!

You are soooo lucky! When I get the urge for another trip, I start looking at Disney books (in front of him) and talking casually about all the great deals Disney has at the time. Then start walking around the house a little down in the dumps...then he says: "You wanna go back don't you?" I excitedly reply: "Yes!!!!" and he says "whatever."

I will absolutely do that. BUT, remember...I have a 5 year old. The questions are super easy! How about if I try to put something together that is a bit more adult?? If you give me time, I will get it going maybe over the weekend. I don't know if it will be a daily thing, but maybe a weekly thing?? I could put like a mini quiz up every week. Maybe even expand on your idea for the parks and do a scavenger hunt...but for online?? Let me get my gears working here...I'll be back on this one!

and I second that - I too would like to play along!

Hahaha...see above! If you guys have any let me know! This may REALLY get us through the only about 65-75 days we have to go!!!

Good! I'm glad you guys came up with something! Woohoo for a fun DH!! It'll be fun for the two of you!

My DB and I used to make them as kids and my mom used them on our actual tree. So, I guess the same thing...we just didn't do it as a countdown. They were fun though! I should have the kids make them! Maybe I can get them to make them and decorate our room in WDW with some?? Bring some Christmas into the room!

Your countdown is ADORABLE!!!!

You had some really cute things that you got from Target! I have yet to see any Disney stuff in our Target dollar section! I am going to keep looking though!

Thanks! You can do a DIsney countdown AND a baby countdown!!!!

 well at least you know what game you have to play to get a WDW trip into his head. Every time I ask Chris what he wants to do for vacation he starts off saying "I don't know" and then later on he'll mention something about WDW. I actually just started planning a trip to DLR for his 30th bday because of that very same conversation.

Him: I'm not looking fwd to my 30th. I'm old!
Me: Well, would you like to go on a vacation somewhere to celebrate and make it less depressing?
Him: That sounds nice.
Me: well, where would you want to go?
Him: I don't know (getting all depressed again)
Me: There's nothing really out on this coast that's all that exciting that we could go and do unless we go to NYC and I know you're not big on that.
Him: yeah, that's true. (more depressed)
Me: What about a trip out to DLR?
Him: Oh yeah that would be FUN! (less depressed)
Me: you know we would have to fly
Him: Well, there's got to be some good drugs out there I could take (worried face and anxiety in voice)
Me: haha yeah!
Him: We could drive. It's ONLY 32 and a half hours!
Me: ONLY!? (shaking head)
Him: We could take your BFF along and stop in Vegas on the way back (he knows how to appeal to me)
Me: ooooo how exciting!! (as I'm getting on my laptop to start planning)

:rotfl::rotfl: Sometimes I think he loves Disney more than I do but I'm the one that plans everything. :confused3

I'm not sure how I missed your PTR for so long, but I am subbing now. Your kids are so handsome/beautiful and you look like their sister. I think you are going to love your combination stay of POR and AKV. POR is one of my favorite resorts. It really is one of the prettiest. I think the landscaping and the mansions and all the walking paths are lovely. Then, how fun to switch gears and go to AKL.

Now I want to go back and read your ADRs.

Thanks! It has been fun so far!

Definitely do it! When it comes to Disney...you are never too old for anything!

I saw this on your PTR...I'm super jealous!!!!

Thanks for finding me and coming over!!! Thanks for the compliments!!!! They are keepers! I'm glad you think I look so young...because I don't always feel it! LOL I am really looking forward to POR...about as much as AKL! It is going to be like 9 days of pure bliss!!!!

Our ADR's are great (I think!) There are just a TON so we will be on diets after vacation!! (Could be tricky with the holidays and eating cookies and other sweets!)

How did your September trip go? Have you started a TR?? I can't wait to see your MNSSHP pix!!!!

OMG Your countdown is SO cute!

Thanks! We are having fun with it! The kids are all tied up with their Disney Dollars at $2 each so far! Poot actually stole a question from Gwad when he answered too quickly and got it wrong! LOL He tried to take his answer back, but we didn't let him and Pooty got it!

I'm hoping this is not boring everyone, but I have another off-topic thing to write about. I'm just trying to keep this PTR going while we are in a lull counting down the days...

Anyway, a few weeks ago, Gwad was in a baseball tournament. They played 6 games and took 2nd place. They only lost in the championship 1-0. The team was made up of 11 boys from all over PA. They never even practiced all together until arriving at the baseball complex because of how far some live from each other! We had a ton of fun hanging out with the other families and watching our boys play together like they had done it forever!

The fields where the tournament was held was about two hours away from our house. So, we stayed at a hotel for the weekend. A couple of miles from the hotel there was a factory outlet mall. We stopped there on our way to the field on the second day of the tournament. They had a Rawlings outlet. There are only three Rawlings stores in the whole world. So, my boys (Gwad and DH) were in their glory! This tournament was a wood bat tournament. (Usually the kids have to use aluminum bats.) So, while in the outlet, we bought Gwad a wood bat for $15. He already had one, but his friend broke one in the first game, so we figured we'd get it as a back up. After some shopping in a couple of other stores and our hour in Rawlings, we got some lunch and headed to the field.

They had won both of their games the day before and would be able to continue if they won the first one on this day. So, the game starts. The other team goes up 3-0 in the first inning. Not to worry...we tied it up. Then, the other team goes up 5-3 in the 2nd. Then...the most exciting thing happens...Gwad gets up and hits a three run homerun!!! I was jumping up and down and crying and yelling! It was awesome! That made it 6-3 us! The ball went so far and he was so happy! It was a proud parent moment for us! I didn't get any pictures from the tournament as I forgot to bring my camera! :scared1:

But, after that game, we were assured placement for the next day. It was a good thing because they lost the next game 2-1.

The next day, one win would put them in the finals. So, they hit the field...and won 10-0! Now they were in the finals! Well, they lost that game to the same team that beat them the day before, but second isn't so bad!

That was the last time Gwad would be able to play on the Little League field. Being 13, he has to move up to the Junior field. The Junior field is much bigger. The base paths are the same length as major league ball fields! Gwad is quick, but it is crazy watching him run that far! He played fall ball on the big field last year, but not in the Spring. Now, he has no choice. So, J-Pa is coaching his Fall ball team this year. They are doing pretty well as a team. But, this past Saturday, they played and Gwad got up in the 3rd inning and...hit the ball all the way to the fence! It didn't go over, but landed about 3 feet in front of it. Just for a frame of reference, this fence is set at 310 feet. Right field at Yankees Stadium is 314 feet! I am so excited for him! I just thought I'd share that story with all of you!

Wow I don't know anything about Baseball but that sounds very exciting! Go Gwad! Hope the Fall Ball team is as good and they do well too. :goodvibes

Totally know what you're talking about!!! Anyway I loved the baseball story. DH and I are huge baseball fans, specifically the Yankees. So I really enjoyed hearing about the game and especially the home run! Isn't it so exciting when your team is winning!?!?! It sounds like he did great, and no worries, in a few years he'll be able to hit one out of the Junior field too!!

It was SUPER exciting! If I can't find anything Disney related, I will write about baseball again! LOL So, there is a good chance you will hear how they do!!! :lmao:

I am not a HUGE baseball fan, but enjoy it somewhat. I do, however enjoy watching my kids do whatever they do. My whole house is filled with Yankees fans...I heart the Mets!!!! I am alone in this house! (Except Poot lately is claiming Mets fandom to please me I think!) It is great when your team is winning...which I don't know about this year with the Mets! Anyway, he did so good. I think he will someday hit it out on the junior field...he was so close this past weekend! if he got his way, he would be hitting it out on the Yankees field! That may be enough to make me like the Yankees a little bit!?

:cheer2: GO GWAD!!! :cheer2:

GO RED SOX!!!

Thanks!!!

Hahaha!!! I was actually cheering for them this past weekend just to annoy DH and kids!!! :rotfl2:

:goodvibes You still have a special place in my heart. After all I have to appreciate a fellow baseball fan(atic) ;)

LOL Fight nice ladies!!!!! You guys could both be in my place...no post season in my team's future!!!!!
