I have been reading with interest your plans for GD Anaheim.
I encourage you to participate in some of the organized group events. On Saturday, you should consider the group ride on the Mark Twain. It is a sea of red shirts on board. There is also a group photo at the Big Thunder Festival grounds around 2 pm. At 3:15, the "family" watches the parade by It's A Small World, not by the hub as at WDW. There is also a group ride of the Tiki Room at 4:30. Then at 7 pm, the Jazz Kitchen is taken over by the red shirts! Goggle Gay Days Anaheim for details.

I would also recommend taking the Happiest Haunts tour on the first night that you arrive. It is a great way to start your visit and to see the two parks in their Halloween attire. There is also a discount for AAA card as well as Disney annual pass holders.
