I get married on May 16, 2009 (THREE MONTHs!!!!) We honeymoon in Walt disney World May 17-24. And May 24-31st we are driving down to the Keys (Key West).

The cast:

Josh (21) has been dragged TWICE to Disney by me in the past year. Once last May (where we got engaged, see TR in siggy if interested), and once in August for his 21st birthday. He fell completely in love with Disney World quickly. He will be commissioning to the US Army in May (and graduating with his Bachelor's in health care administration), a week before our wedding. He goes to Basic Officer Leadership Course II and II from September 19-December 21st... So I'm just looking forward to spending as much as our newlywed time together as possible.

SIDE NOTE: We toured DVC in May and Josh was pretty interested. He asked a lot of questions, and crunched a lot of numbers. He told me that while with our bi-annual trips, it would make some sense to buy in, he couldn't justify it without the emotional tie. He told me that if that big building they were building by Contemporary was DVC and if the price was in line with AKV, I could be a proud DVC owner. Not only did all that happen, but in November they offered matching Developer points.... So we bought and are taking a trip in July with our Developer points and a trip in December over NYE with our BLT points!!!!!

Caitlin (24) I graduated last year with my MSN. I've been working the past year as a nurse at an inner city Catholic hopsital on an ICU stepdown floor. It's physically and mentally exhausting. I enjoy what I do, but it's not something I can keep up much longer. I am applying to go back to school in the fall, I want a certificate in midwifery! I went to DIsney every year until High School. Tink's my favorite character (You'll be able to tell in my clothing), but I am a huge fan of Belle. I love a disney princess that was selfless (trading herself for her father) and brilliant, and never afraid to have her nose in a book!

Our Disneymoon is booked at the Beach Club Villas. We are looking forward to being so close to our favorite park Epcot and plan on spending three days there, two days at MK, one day each at MGM and AK. We are landing on the 17th at 4:09 PM and taking the Magical Express, I'm a bit nervous that our whole day will be shot (but we decided that leaving at noon would be much better for us and our post-wedding exhaustion then taking an earlier flight).

We are planning on doing the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan. My FH made a big Excel spreadsheet detailing all that we want to do and what days we want to go to parks and what restaurants. i will post that, but I need help from you guys (I make ADRs TOMORROW!) AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH  :goodvibes

I followed you from your other thread... can't wait to read your plans, since we're going on the exact same honeymoon, except we go to DCL when you go to the Keys. Crazy! :) Good luck with ADR day tomorrow!

My ADRs were made yesterday morning at 0701 AM :cool1:

I got every ADR I wanted, and the CM I spoke with was helpful. It went really well, thank you! Do you get married May 16th too? How insane
!!!! Where are you guys staying? Are you doing the Dining plan too?

I called off work last night. Scratch that. I pulled into my parking lot at work, fainted in my car, broke out in sweats and have been alternating between sweats and chills sincet hen. I've had a terrible headache and been sleeping excessively all week, but the nausea ahd chills/sweats just started yesterday. I would blame it ont he flu, but I'm afebrile.

I'm just so disappointed I'm sick, I'm using up valuable vacation time that I need for my honeymooon (they lump vacation time in with our sick leave, and we're required to use up 40 percent of our vacation time before our sick pay kicks in. Also, I'm going to be on my second step for termination for a "late call off" yesterday unless I take off the rest of the week so that I can get my medical leave FMLA paperwork filled out by my PCP. It sucks because I feel too sick to work tonight, but I'm tired of having to play the system to be sick. It's so much paperwork just to not get fired for calling off.

I totaled my car in December when i skidded on black ice on my way to work, missed three days in a row (one including the day I totalled my car, on my way to work). I was in my hopsitals ER, had a note from my doctor, and it still wasn't good enough.... I didn't fill out the triplicate leave form. Even though I was in the hopsital's er being seen by our docs and nurses, it's such crap. I'm very fed up and now I'm nervous that my late call off (i.e. fainting and being rescued by co-workers) are going tomput me on the chopping block. It's ridiculous that I have to worry about this when I'm sick

Anyways I'm done venting. I think.

Wednesday at 11AM and Kona at 730AM! OH NO! So close!

We are doing both early to fit in with other meals (kona is a 3 meal day) and 50s ptc is before our mama melrose fantasmic dinner reservation!

I tried to write on your Engagement TR but it won't let me. I still haven't finished mine, if it makes you feel any better!

Sorry you're not feeling well, and that you have to worry about work! I had Lyme Disease over the summer (wouldn't wish it on anyone!) and I was out of work for about a month total. It took forever for it to get diagnosed properly, but luckily I have a very understanding employer. I'm sorry you're dealing with this!

Yes, we're getting married on the 16th in New Hampshire and leaving for WDW on the 17th... staying at the Poly until the 23rd when we leave on DCL for a week! We're also doing the Deluxe Dining Plan... we were just going to do the regular one, but there were enough restaurants we wanted to go to that it made sense to upgrade.

Hope you feel better!

OMG I am so sorry that you're sick! Your hospital has a crazy leave policy. It sounds so unfair, I feel so bad for you :sad2:

On a happier note, your plans look great so far!! That is awesome that you got all the ADRs you wanted. They look great, I am especially interested in how you like Jiko, we are trying it for our first time in June. (Well, as long as everything goes smoothly when I book on March 8th lol)

Can't wait for more!!

sorry to hear about your sick leave policy, maybe more disney planning will cheer you up!! :flower3:

I'm sorry you are sick. I'm actually home sick from work today and was scared to call in. My supervisor can be pretty mean, but as my DH says, "if you're sick, you're sick" So here I am on the disboards :rotfl:

I got married in Disney at the Yacht Club Gazebo on May 4, 2007 and then we stayed at the GF for our honeymoon for 2 weeks after that. You are going to have such a fantastic time!!!! We are going to be there for a few days overlapping your trip... we are going 5/12-5/19. Have fun planning and can't wait to read all about it!!

I honestly think I am somewhat depressed because I dislike my job, most of my friends have moved away, and my family's two hours away... Working nights really makes it hard to have a social life and I feel like I spend my life sleeping. At least I have three DVC trips to plan and the DIS!!!! I don't know what I would do without my amazing best friend of a fiance.

haha, on another note (after my work rant).... Did everyone see this?

CareerBuilder Super Bowl Commercial

It pretty much is perfect for how I have been feeling lately. I was working the night of the Super Bowl (of course) but Josh posted it on my facebook wall and I laughed very hard.

I am so envious, it's not my employer whose not sympathetic, it's the hospital policy. It's very hard to maneuver around. It's just, I'm a nurse, I'm responsible for people's lives and most of my patients are very susceptible to disease. I don't think it's right for me to subject them to my illness or my poor judgement when I'm sick and weak. You think that they would want nurses on top of their game!

BTW I think you have a simply fabulous wedding date. I recall reading your E report back when I first got engaged. I remember the matching polos!

Maybe we'll run into you. I'm super:love: obsessed with the Poly although Josh says we'll never stay there because of DVC (we'll see).

Aren't you nervous you're going to wind up super fat and sick feeling on the Deluxe plan? LOL I am so nervous!

I'm really nervous about Jiko, I have heard great things and I'm not exactly a picky eater but ostrich frightens me!

Haha thanks, I agree, and I feel bad for myself!!!! But I really appreciate it  I was so surprised I got all my ADRs. Lauren, are you nervous about the 90 day deadline in June? Are you doing a Dining plan.

I'm going in July and we're staying at SSR in a 1BR so we get a kitchen. Josh says NO restaurants and NO theme parks, he doesnt' want to fight the crowds. He says we'll just tour resorts and enjoy SSRs pool (and maybe spa) and cook in our villa. I'm nervous, I've never done Disney that way before!!!!
PS it was so strange to make the reservation entirely in his name/my future name (the July one) I'm assuming that all my stuff will be switched over to his name by then!!!!

sorry to hear about your sick leave policy, maybe more disney planning will cheer you up!! :flower3:

Haha it totally is, I may have been popping Ibuprofen like candy but I am researching new jobs and a new place for us to move. Fiance has been applying to be a police officer or a health care office manager all over... But I got him to extend his search out of Ohio to KY!!!! I'd love to live in Cinci or KY or FL... So WDW planning, and a career/locale switch is really really really making me feel better!

I wanted to get married SO badly in FL but Josh said that it would be too hard to have our family there, and he's right, but I'm still sad about it. Maybe a VR some day. I can't wait for our Disneymoon, I have the bride ears and everything!!!

Where are you staying when you go?

You are so right. I wish my FH was like that. My FH was like "You sure you can't stick it out? I know your pale and sweating profusely, but we can't afford for you to get fired." Um he's normally the most romantic kindly dude in the world, but I think this economy has him a bit panicked since I'm the main breadwinner (aside from his Army reserves pay and a PT job)

Wedding Ceremony at 1130 AM

at my childhood church

Wedding Reception 5-11PM
Our reception site is going with our military wedding theme. We've rented out two rooms and a wedding patio (with a little fire pit and chairs and tables outside). The first room is a ballroom, with floor to ceiling windows that look out over the airport, and hard wood floors, the second room is a little room designed to look like a turn of the century study and it's for our bar. Our wedding patio is closed off from everything else and the only entry is from our ballroom.

My dress: OMG i somehow only have one o my cellphone of my dress.

And my stud of a FH demanded we get chair covers... LOL

That's all my wedding stuff done.

Now back to the Disney stuff. Does anyone have any ideas for how to make this trip more romantic?

I'm thinking of booking an extra ADR at the San Angel Inn, not because we want to eat there (we hate the food) but because we want to get drinks and enjoy the atmosphere and then ride gran fiesta while we've had a margarita or two in our system????

Does anyone have any sweet ideas for BCV or Epcot or MK? (I'd say MGM or AK too, but we're only there one day apiece and not for very long!)

Just a heads-up, because we tried to get San Angel Inn (again, not for the food but for the atmosphere and b/c FH has never been) but it's closed for refurb during our honeymoons. So plan to get your pre-Gran Fiesta drinks at the stand outside Mexico, instead! :)

Ahhhh Caitlin it is insane how much we have in common!! I am also wearing a champagne colored dress (well technically champagne/ivory but close enough) with an elbow length veil and I am also having hydrangeas as my flowers! Your dress is so beautiful!!

I am so nervous about my ADRs. This new 90 day thing is throwing me off. We are going to San Angel (hopefully!) because it is so romantic. I think their food is ok, but I really just go for atmosphere. I love the idea of just doing margaritas. And I totally rode Gran Fiesta tour in January after having a HUGE margarita and it is a whole new experience :rotfl: DF was making fun of me the whole time.

We might be spending a lot of our honeymoon at the resort, so I think that you and DFH will have a really nice time just hanging out. I can see why it would be weird to not do the parks, but I like the idea of just resort hopping and soaking up the atmosphere without rushing around and being busy all the time. If he's gonna cook for you, go for it!! Awww, that is so fun you got to make all the ressies in his name!! It is crazy, I will be doing that before long too.

I know this is kinda expensive and semi-hard to book, but have you thought of doing a wishes/illuminations cruise on your honeymoon? We did one for my mom's bday last year and I'm thinking of trying to book one for our honeymoon next year. It was so fun, worth every penny, and it would be so romantic! You mentioned the spa, maybe a couples massage at one of the spas? Sounds cheesy but they are amazing, and romantic.

haha, see there are MANY perks to this whole double honeymoon thing. I think I need to see your list of ADRs. Do you have a PTR? If you don't plan on doing one, I will totally share with you here. I just need to see them... I am so excited!:rotfl:

I will do the drink outside and wander around inside thing (but it's still sad). Do you havea ny other cute little lounges that are romantic to grab a drink at?

Since FH and I are both <25 years old, I am having a heck of a time trying to find a decent rental from MCO (or closer) that is affordable so we can drive to the keys and back (we'll drop it off at MCO). I've found a few codes on Alamo that make Alamo appear to be the cheapest.

I had no idea it cost 323 dollars to rent a car for 6 days! Does anyone have any tips/discounts for this rental? I will seriously be two months away from 25!

Awww too bad it is closed! I will be there not long after you guys so I'm guessing we have to scracth that one too. But the Fiesta Margarita from the stand is amazing, definitely try it!
