ITS COMING -Nov. 2014 Free Dining - waiting, watching, wishing & worrying thread

The CM I just spoke to wouldn't give up any info except to say "I know there's a lot of rumors on social media but typically free dining isn't offered until May or June". It is May!!

According to the CM this morning, she told me that she could not confirm if free dining to start tomorrow (for Visa holders) but that they were notified that POR and POFQ would not be included. She stated that those 2 resorts had become so popular that they would be excluded. I love POR so I am really bummed!!! However.... My sister was on the phone at the same time and her CM did not tell her that POR would be excluded. He encouraged her to "hold"a room at POR and call back in am to "transfer" reservation to free dining promotion. SO... I'm not sure who is right!!!! Guess just more waiting till tomorrow

I,spoke to both cm amd visa hey both said, its coming out tommorow . But I have 30 percent off pofq so I'm leaving it at that .had fd at pofq last year. Bummed..... I got a discount but its not the rooms we prefer, we like river rooms

I have seen a confirmation with my own eyes from someone who got it today. It's dated 5/1/14. Travel dates of Sept 30 - Oct 12. "Magic your way - visa

sorry to everyone with POR POFQ reservations if this is true.. POR is the only Mod that fits five.. that's such a bummer!

Is that for all the dates, or just the first set posted?

I just tried calling again, and got that it was not released yet, and no one should have been able to get it yet, though it seems people are posting that they did on social media

I'm not sure. She had my credit card info pulled up and said it was for DV holders. The CM said all DV holders should get a detailed email with the code.

Is there a clear benefit to the "Premier" DV versus the "Rewards" DV that justifies the annual $49 fee?

Also, what are the odds that if I signed up for a DV today, that I'd be eligible for the early booking for DV holders?

If you get an instant approval... I believe you can use the account immediately

From what a cast member told me last night, you will need the account number as you either will have to make a payment with the card at the time of the discount application, or have already used the card with an existing reservation. If you sign up today, do they give you the account number immediately?

From my very magical travel agent who ALWAYS comes through when it comes to getting the most out of our Disney trip. This was the response when I asked about FD "The chief rumor mounger has been more wrong than right and Disney has been playing cat/mouse with him to flush him out."

Maybe, but there are at least three reports from people who DID get free dining today, somehow or other, and many more were told to call back tomorrow. I guess we will have to wait and see. Every year people come along and say the leaked info is totally incorrect, and every year it turns out to be, at least mostly, correct.:rolleyes1

Do you have a booking code on that? Feel free to PM me. I'd like to see for myself if you don't mind.

I can't really get into details, but this offer is... odd.

There will be a lower discount period during certain dates for room only and certain resorts are excluded for certain dates. Just weird.

Confirming that POFQ and POR are both EXCLUDED from FD. Really puts a kink in lots of plans.

If you get instant approval you can get your number. If it goes into review, you do not get your number until you receive your card. But you can ask and they will expedite it, I think we got our card the next day.

So, if and when (tomorrow?) this free dining offer comes out, will November not be included this time around?

I know it usually isn't available until August, but I saw someone speculated otherwise. I'd sure love if I didn't have to wait until August!

I also saw that ALL of AoA is excluded. For what the suites cost, I think that sucks that they wouldn't include them. But I am more than willing to make other accomodations to get free dining.

It's worth it to us in so many ways.

The waiting is driving me crazy! :surfweb:

I was told by the CM this morning FD will include dates up till Dec 23rd w/ black out dates throughout......call in the morning she said.

Oh well...my application says it needs to be "reviewed". I have a Southwest Chase card so I'm not sure why they need to "review" my application....unless they're mad because I pay it off every month and never carry a balance. lol

Doesn't look like I'll have a DV card before the general public is able to book with free dining. At least I went with the one with no fee...

THIS.

I got the same info yesterday AM. It was very specific.
The Mouse is on the prowl.
There's a glitch that needs to be fixed.
There is deliberate misinformation being used to fix the glitch in the future.
Nothing is adding up...and it's being done on purpose.

And for the record, I greatly appreciate the efforts of EVERYONE on this board to try and save families some $$$....

They are real picky in approving accounts. We tried before our last trip in 2012 with no success and were shocked we were able to get one this time around. It might have to do with the fact it is a "rewards card" with no annual fee, so they limit who they give it to.
