"It's Coming and it's BLUE" - A July 2010 TR - COMPLETED!!

AHHHHHHHHHH OH MAN you will be there so soon! I AM TOO EXCITED!!!!!!! and I'm not even going. I mean, wait. I obviously am. Let me just call down there to make sure you'll get those strawberries and cupcakes!

oh dont get me wrong i love stefan to...alot but damon is hotter im a sucker for blue eyes lol but with stefan chilling with klaus for the next 10 or so years damon and elena are going be getting pretty close lol
I have never been more excited for anything in the history of television. Stefan buying a one-way ticket to crazy town has left me feeling fangirlier than ever. After the finale, I had a stupid grin on my face for hours. HOURS. I'm pretty sure my roommates thought I was crazy and/or rabid. Which, in this house, is a completely logical thought because we did find a few bats living with us earlier in the year. :rotfl: But, yeah, I just REALLY hope they don't screw this up. I don't really care about the love triangle anymore, JUST GIVE ME A JUICY, MEATY STEFAN STORYLINE! :upsidedow

Well, we booked two rooms and will have an extra bed, so... :)

But, yeah, I'm kinda freaking out. The trip is so soon! I started the packing process today. By that I mean that I stood in front of my closet for 15 minutes, looked at my clothes, and then gave up and watched Buffy.

Oh, how I hate packing....

Happy Almost Birthday! Already looking forward to your next trip report, and you haven't even left yet :) Have so much fun -- can hardly wait to see the pics!

Well I'm already packed so get on it!! Sheesh!! But no, seriously... I've only booked 2 ADRs for our Oct/Nov trip and I only have a vague idea of what we're doing. We're not booked yet because I'm waiting for the rates to go down like they have the past 3 years (watch, they won't this year, just cause I'm watching them), and farecast is telling me to wait to buy the plane tickets, too. I could do more ADRs, but it's so overwhelming and I want to go to so many places that I can't focus on deciding what we want to do the most and making that happen. I can't choose between old standbys and new experiences. SO I'M JUST SITTING HERE WITH AN UNPLANNED TRIP!!! AHH!! Sorry I'm bringing my noise into your trip report. I realize this is a good problem to have. What i'm saying is this: I understand the looking at your clothes and going back to watching Buffy thing. It will all work out anyway, we both know that!

Don't fret, my dear, you have plenty of time to make all of your ADRs. One day everything will just come to you. Then, you'll go on a booking spree and I will sit here wallowing in my post-Disney depression. Siiigh. I really need to find a job this year so I can afford a spring break trip. This whole 'waiting a year between trips' thing is getting old. My life has no purpose when it's lacking in happiness, magic, and pixie dust. Basically, I just need to be at Disney 24/7. I've gotta figure out a way to make that happen.

Ok, before I give you that long reply, I just wanna tell you that I wanna follow your twitter tooo!!!!!

Also, I need to get Buffy....it's only one of my fave series ever. Not started packing yet???? I would've already been done by now, minus the toiletry stuff!!!!

Wow, 2 rooms! That's so awesome! No more cramming into 1 room or bothering parents with your sister chatter in the middle of the night (cause I would be like that with MY sister).

OT, I hear steel drums outside the apartment, but not sure where it's coming from...

Ok! My Disney twitter is MarieTheCat24, just like my DIS username. :upsidedow I don't really ever use it other than while at WDW, but in a week or so, I'll be tweeting up a storm.

BtVS is such a flawless show. I started re-watching the entire series on Netflix a month ago. I just finished the 3rd season (aka the best season) yesterday. Although, instead of starting the 4th season, I decided I'd rather watch all 5 seasons of Angel and then come back and finish BtVS. Angel was always my favorite character and I haven't watched that show in FOREVER.

Well, the real reason for 2 rooms is that my sister's boyfriend is coming with us this year. But the whole 'having more space to spread out' thing is an added bonus.

Did you run outside and party with the steel drummers? I totally would have. I LOVE steel drums.

*Stefon voice* ACCURATE!!!!!!! My dream is to go every six months. Or once a week. Either way.

I can't wait for all your tweets! It'll be even better when I can sign into twitter on my darned smartphone....

I've never seen Angel, can you believe it? Probably because I'm more of a Buffy/Spike fan, and Riley wasn't THAT bad, but Angel was much better.

Ohhh, she's bringing the boyfriend! I bet it'll be so much fun with new meat on the trip. Um...I hope that doesn't sound dirty or anything :rolleyes1

I danced in my apartment to the steel drummers. I couldn't figure out where they were, my building is like...surrounded by parks and stage-like places.

This whole 'waiting a year between trips' thing is getting old.

Speaking of being in Disney 24/7, have you guys ever read Kingdom Keepers? It's like...about a bunch of middle schoolers that do battle with evil at WDW. There's this part in the book where they hid out in the Animation Academy until the park closed and just....roamed around. That sounds like an excellent adventure.

Yeah, I feel like every six months is good. Of course, once a week would be ideal, but well, y'know, life and stuff. :upsidedow

You should totally watch Angel. It's really good. Plus, Spike joins the cast during the 5th season, so since you're a Spike fan, you should totally watch. :thumbsup2

Yeah, it should be fun. He's only been to Disney once when he was younger, so it'll be cool to re-introduce him to all of its wonderfulness.

I haven't read Kingdom Keepers, but fighting evil at WDW sounds kinda perfect. Where do I sign up? ;)

JULY 28TH PART ONE: THE FINAL MORNING
Before I start this update, I just want to say that I feel like this thing is suffering in the quality department because I'm rushing to get it done. I'm terribly sorry for that. I mean, I'm not entirely sure this trip report has ever truly been quality, but you're all fabulous, wonderful, amazing readers/commenters/friends and you deserve better than a rushed ending. I promise that I'll make up for it with my next TR. I love you all! :grouphug:

OK...

On our final morning in WDW, for some unbeknownst reason, I woke up at 6:00 AM. 6:00 AM. I NEVER wake up at 6:00 AM. Because of my insomnia, I go to sleep at 6:00 AM more often than I wake up at 6:00 AM. So basically, I was extremely confused. I attempted to go back to sleep for another hour, but gave up after about 5 minutes and decided I might as well finish packing. My parents were already up and moving (because they are crazy people who wake up that early on a regular basis) and beginning to take stuff out to the car. After showering, brushing my teeth, and all that jazz, I headed out to the porch to enjoy one last Mickey Rice Crispy Treat breakfast. It was delicious. And also quite sad. I hate leaving.

I don’t remember exactly how long I was out there, but I know that I was startled out of my breakfast serenity by this crazypants.
1037.jpg

You’ve gotta love her.

I came back inside and joined the family for one last sweep of the room. We definitely didn’t want to forget anything. I’ve never actually forgotten anything in a hotel room before, but it cannot be fun. While we were waiting for Katie to finish packing up, Mom shared with me some SHOCKING news: she had never ever eaten a rice crispy treat before. I know, right? My mind was blown. I was about to whip out my phone and call the hospital where I was born just to make sure that I wasn’t switched at birth or something. Once I got over the initial shock, I shoved a Mickey Rice Crispy Treat into her hand and told her to eat. This whole ‘I’ve never eaten one before’ thing simply could not stand.

Here’s a picture of that magical first bite…
1039.jpg

And the verdict? Well, she didn’t exactly drop to her knees shouting, “I’m not worthy of eating such a delicious food item.” She also didn’t spit it out, though, so I was satisfied.

Once Katie was ready, we grabbed our things, said one last goodbye to our room, and headed out to the parking lot to finish packing up the car. Dad’s got packing down to a science, so we all just stood there while he meticulously managed to fit everything in.

Then, we headed back into the GCH and up to the monorail station to go over to the Magic Kingdom one last time.

1040.jpg

I love the teal monorail.
1041.jpg

A pretty palm tree AND a pretty trash can.
1042.jpg

Walking down the MK monorail ramp. The Welcome Show was going on as we arrived. It was the perfect final morning welcome.

Upon entering, we headed straight to Tomorrowland as we were in a Space Mountain kinda mood.
1045.jpg

1046.jpg

1047.jpg

1049.jpg

1050.jpg

1052.jpg

The line was backed up to the Astro Orbiter, but once we started moving, we made it on the ride in no time.
1054.jpg

1056.jpg

1057.jpg

This always makes me smile. Maybe someday Disney really will have a resort somewhere in outer space.
1060.jpg

Here’s our on-ride picture:
1061.jpg

After exiting back out into Tomorrowland, we saw that Chip and Dale were out with no wait, so we headed over to get our picture taken. Dale (who has always been my favorite) gave me a big hug. Chip, upon seeing Katie’s cheerleading shirt, started doing some cheerleading moves. It was adorable.

Here’s our picture:
1062.jpg

I know that they’re going for a futuristic look, but I can’t help but feel like Chip and Dale got lost on their way to a Lady Gaga concert or something. Paws up, guys.

After our character encounter, we headed back to Space Mountain. I cannot get enough of that ride.
1064.jpg

Another on-ride pic:
1066.jpg

Because there was no line, Dad, Katie and I rode for a third and fourth time. Mom wasn’t feeling up to it, so she bought a diet coke and found a table outside to relax. We could’ve kept riding because there was absolutely no wait, but that queue is long, man. It wore us out.

During our trip, receipts from certain quick service dining locations doubled as coupons for discounts at merchandise locations throughout the parks. Because the coupons were only valid before either 11 or 12 (I can't remember which), I decided it was time to head over to the Emporium to do a little shopping.
1074.jpg

I thoroughly looked through the entire store (and saw 90454892234 things I wanted to buy) but I settled on some practical souvenirs.

I got several Mickey Mouse kitchen utensils which I brought with me to my house at school and used frequently. Using them never fails to brighten my day.
1158.jpg

I also bought one of these Tigger mugs for my friend because she’s a big Tigger fan.
1071.jpg

I actually already own the Mike Wazowski mug, but I bought a Chesire Cat mug (which you can kinda see in the bottom of the pic) for myself. I love those mugs. They are MASSIVE, but, again, they never fail to brighten my day.

Katie also bought some stuff (though I don’t remember what) and we wound up saving quite a bit of money, so thanks for the coupons, Disney!

After finishing our shopping, we decided it was time to bid adieu to the Magic Kingdom. We wanted to get on the road at a decent time so that we’d get to my grandmother’s house before rush hour. Plus, we still had to stop at Downtown Disney for some Earl of Sandwich and a quick trip to the 25 Days of Christmas store.

Here’s one final shot of the Magic Kingdom:
1077.jpg

See ya real soon, MK. Literally. :upsidedow

UP NEXT: DOWNTOWN DISNEY

Oh gosh. For some reason I didn't realize that your trips are only 3 WEEKS APART. That's awesome! Too bad you can't just stay at Disney for those 3 weeks. :rotfl:

I'll try out all of the CSR hammocks and let ya know which one is best. :thumbsup2

Yeah they are!!! It's crazy! I wish I could just stay there, it would make sense...but the whole money thing is kinda an issue. Why does 3 weeks in Disney have to be so expensive?

And yes please do and let me know! :thumbsup2

P.S. I cannot believe I missed 3 updates!!!! :scared1: So here goes my comments for all of them:

I love that last night tradition for you guys. It's so nice to just sit back and take in the magic every once in a while. I should have a last night tradition...but I don't. Oh well. I always end up in Epcot on my last night, so I guess that counts??

Okay, EVERYONE is constantly raving about how amazing these raspberry lemonade slushes are, and I NEED TO TRY ONE. It's driving me nuts. They look super refreshing. Which I'll be needing due to the 328905730 degree weather at Disney in July/August. :rotfl:

ROTCOMS. :rotfl2: I think I just laughed for about 15 minutes straight.

Too funny about Billy. Hope he gets his life back on track. :lmao:

I agree about MSEP. Granted, I don't HATE it, I actually think it's really cute. But compared to Spectro, it doesn't stand a chance. I miss my "On this magic night" and the beautiful Mickey and Sleeping Beauty floats and the big band section. I just love it so much. :lovestruc

Ya know, a sumo stance is not a bad idea with those post-fireworks crowds sometimes. It's like you just need to pin yourself against a wall and let them all file out like a herd of cattle.

I'm excited for you to get a new camera so you can take way more pics! YAY! My mom needs a new one too. It's not a bad camera it's just that she's not so good WITH the camera so therefore the pics always come out blurry or something. She needs a fancy one like Jess.

So true about the dads thing. The moms just feel the need to stop and do a head count about every 3 steps.

I love the carousel at night too! :thumbsup2 Weird about the animal pelt though, I've never noticed that before! That's so creepy!

Yayy for Dumbo. I love that little elephant. And I love seeing over the Fantasyland walls. But during the day when I can check out the construction wayy better.

I love walking through the castle. It gives me chills and makes me feel like I'm really there. :cloud9:

Main Street. is. BEAUTIFUL. Probably my favorite place on this planet. I could sit there all day, listening to the Dapper Dans and the Casey's Corner pianist, watching the trolleys go by, and smelling that magical smell that comes from the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. It's pure magic. :wizard:

That Minnie Mouse apple is so cute! I've always wanted to try one of those, but I currently have my eye on the rocky road one at Karamell Kuche. The day I get these braces off I'm tellin' ya...I am SO there.popcorn::

The Confectionary is a beautiful thing, really. It should be like one of the wonders of the Disney World, or something. If that was even a thing.

I always always ALWAYS had to get a giant lollipop too. And I never finished them either. It was just the principle of the thing, I think.

The Marie one is so cute! She's not really a popular character, but I'm glad they had one of those for ya! :goodvibes

Oh how sad, the last night. :sad2: Stacey and Mickey rice crispys at the Polynesian are definitely a great way to spend it though! :thumbsup2

And just to let you know, this TR is on the Top 5 TR's ever in existence list, so i don't think you have to worry about quality. :upsidedow

Love Katie's face there. Priceless.

I left my camera charger in Disney last summer. And the sad part is, it took me till January to realize that I had left it at AKL. That thing really holds a charge! :lmao:

GASP about your mom never eating that food of the gods! I'm glad you put an end to that treason.

Oh the teal monorail. That and the red are my favorites. :cloud9:

I think it's hilarious how the trash cans say WASTE PLEASE. Like obviously it means to put your waste there, but what if some...say... Brazilian tour groups think it means that they are supposed to waste?? Gotta be thinkin' about these things, Disney.

HAHAHA I can see it now: "The newest addition to the Disney Vacation Club: Disney's Hyperion Resort on the Moon."

Love the red white & blue outfits. And the Ohio State shirt. :thumbsup2

LOL, they really do look like Lady Gaga outfits. Well, those existed before she did, so TECHNICALLY she's copying Disney. Shame, shame. That's gonna be one heck of a lawsuit if word gets out.

Oh shopping, how I love it. And at Disney it's just 99834927 times better! The Emporium is definitely a fave. Love the kitchen utensils. My mom has those but keeps asking for more! Pretty soon she's gonna own the whole Disney kitchen collection.

Love the mugs! The guidance counselor at my school is a big Disney fan and she has the Mike Wazowski one. I had a little spaz when I saw it in her office, and proceeded to play 20 Disney questions with her, which slightly overwhelmed her. Sure, she can help kids with eating disorders and drug problems calmly and rationally, but when a Disney freak pays a visit...forget it.

Goodbye Magic Kingdom! PUH-LEASE you're gonna be there in 8 days!!!! That's crazy!!! You must be sooo excited! I have 32 left and I am going crazy!!! :yay:

I'm glad there's at least one more update left! By the time this is done we'll only have like a week until it's onto the next one! :woohoo:

Sorry if this is the longest comment EVER. I had a lot to say!

Ohh, I didn't know Spike shows up in Angel. I must watch it now!

Don't worry Kara, this TR never lacked in any sort of quality. It was always AWESOME. I love you too!

6am! I don't know if I could do that on departure day. I don't think I'd ever be able to fit in one last visit to the parks unless my flight was like...at night.

Wow...all those years and your mom has never eaten a Mickey rice krispy treat. Are you sure you guys are related?

Oooh, love that shot of the monorail! I like the teal one too cause there's some green in there and I LOVE green.

That's such a cool trash can.

I love that there's someone in a Minnie hat in that shot of the station. It's like a commercial.

Love your shots around TMRland. Everything just looks so serene and pretty.

3 times on Space Mountain! And you were finally able to pose in the right direction, that's awesome. Love those pictures.

Oooooor, maybe Gaga's costume designers were inspired by the Space Chip n Dale! VERY likely. I mean, they DID come first.

I have the Mickey spatula too!!! I wanted to buy ALL their kitchen stuff, but Andrew got me the spatula instead. I live in a house with 4 other people, and one of my housemates actually MELTED a bit of my spatula! He was using it on the oven....

I love all those cute Disney mugs. I have so many Disney cups, I don't know what to do with them. My fave is a tall Jack Skellington one that is reserved for tea drinking.

Those coupons sound great, I hope I can get some on my trip.

You'll be there SO SOON.

Girl, run, don't walk, to the closest stand that sells Raspberry Lemonade slushes as soon as you get to WDW. They are so refreshing and wonderful. They definitely help with the 85590394303 degree heat.

I agree about Main Street. I'd be perfectly content spending my entire vacation relaxing on Main Street. It's just so magical.

They have a Rocky Road apple at Karamel Kuche? Gosh, I can already tell I'm going to be spending an absurd amount of money in there. I've had my eye on the caramel cupcake and a bag of the fresh caramel corn, and now this rocky road apple might just be too good to turn down. LOL. Do you think they'd give me a discount because my name is in the store's name? ;)

I'm on your Top 5 TR's Ever in Existence list? Aw, thanks dear!

Wow, your camera charge lasted until January? I am majorly impressed. What kind of camera do you have?

Good point about the trash cans. "Waste please" is kind of a strange way to word "Put your trash here and not on the ground/on the rides/in someone's stroller/etc."

Your guidance counselor is awesome. Mine were just creepy. LOL.
You should really read Kingdom Keepers. Seriously, get on that!
Gosh, I guess I'll have to. I didn't realize it was this popular. I feel like I'm missing out.

Aw, thanks, Yuki!

I don't know how/why I woke up at 6:00 AM. It's one of life's greatest mysteries...

I love green too. It's been my favorite color since I was little. There was a green chair in my mom's hospital room after she delivered me so we're convinced that's why I like green. Katie's favorite color is orange and there was an orange chair in the hospital room after she was born, so we're pretty certain this is a thing with our family. LOL.

OMG. My spatula melted a bit too! It's not too bad, but the fingers are a bit curved at the tips. :upsidedow

LOL.

I will definitely be mosey-ing over to the Enchanted Grove!

Ummm...there should definitely be a "my name is in the sign and I'm buying half of the stuff in here" discount.

Definitely! Your TR is probably tied with Jess' from January in the #1 spot! :worship:

It's a Sony CyberShot. Like just a generic point and shoot but man that baby is a trooper! I don't use it that often when I'm not in WDW or on vacation somewhere else though.

In someone's stroller...:lmao: I am just waiting for the day when I see that. LOL.

Well, tell your camera that it's quite impressive for me. I'm sure he or she would love to hear that. I can only hope that my new camera will be one of such quality. :thumbsup2

Giiiiiiiirl, your trip report is obviously quality. I mean, if I didn't exist it would be the best trip report ever! :woohoo: Oh, I'm a hoot. Seriously though I obviously loved this whole TR and can't wait for your next!

hahahaha I love that you had a Mickey Rice Crispie treat on hand to give to your mom. Like I imagine you picking up a red phone or pressing a big red button and suddenly men in uniform come running in with the treats.

Dude, just reading this is making me depressed. I HATE LEAVING DISNEY WORLD. It feels like what I imagine getting to Heaven but then having someone come floating over to your rainbow cloud and being all "LOL JUST KIDDING IT'S DOWNSTAIRS FOR YOU, PAL!" feels like. Okay, maybe I'm being dramatic but what I mean is... it just really blows.

AWESOME Space Mountain pictures. Especially the second one, you look completely mentally ill which is a must. I'm trying to figure out the most offensive thing I can get away with doing on Space Mountain without getting physically removed from the park. I'll get back to you.

You are right on about those costumes! At least Chip's seems to be on correctly... I can't say the same for Dale. But I guess that kind of matches his personality!

We had those coupons last year too and saved a ton! Mostly on Mickey Rice Crispie treats which were bought in bulk. And by "in bulk" I mean I carried as many as I could in both my arms and then dumped them on the counter. Unfortunately there is no discount on the calories but look at all the fs I give!!!!!

See ya real soon... LITERALLY party: party: party: party: party:

Don't tell anyone, but I have this magical superpower that makes Mickey Rice Crispy Treats appear out of thin air. It's quite the gift.

You are accurate, my friend. Very very accurate. That is totally what leaving WDW feels like.

I'm trying to think up some ridiculous ideas for Space Mt. photos, but I haven't had much luck. I think I need to sit down with Katie for a brainstorming session.

I cannot believe that ONE WEEK FROM RIGHT NOW, I will be on my way to Florida. I feel like I'm going to vomit rainbows and sparkles. :woohoo:

Wow, I got so behind on your TR! I think the last time I commented was when you booked your trip that's coming up! And now you're on the last day!

SM four times, I don't think I've ever done that, but it sounds like the perfect start to your last visit to MK!

I never understood the futuristic Chip and Dale...do they have some movie or cartoon where they go to space or something? They're cute, but I agree, the costumes are strange!

I love the Mickey utensils. And the mugs. I have this one Disney mug that I got on my November trip (which, btw, you would know about IF you ever read my November TR...:rolleyes1 :sad1:) and every single time I use it, it makes me happy and reminds me of being in Disney. :upsidedow
