"It's Coming and it's BLUE" - A July 2010 TR - COMPLETED!!

HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EVERYBODY!!!

OMIGOSH. I haven't been on here in FOREVER and I am sooooo sorry about that. Prepping for the big move has been taking up all of my time and energy. Well, that and watching the Emmy Opening over and over again. Like seriously, if you haven't watched it yet, run to youtube RIGHT NOW and prepare to have your mind blown.

I mean, Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey, Jon Hamm, Joel McHale, Jane Lynch, a bunch of the Glee kids (including my TV boyfriend, Cory Monteith) doing a Glee-style song and dance number to Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run"...it was AMAZING. As I wrote in my blog, it felt like whoever put together the whole thing jumped into my brain and decided to bring to life my biggest pop culture fantasies. Literally, it was all my favorite people and they sang one of my all-time favorite songs and just GAH. It blew my mind. Best Emmy Opening ever.

Actually, y'know what...Best TV Moment ever. It was that good.

AND my Buckeyes just won their first game of the season, so I'm in a REALLY good mood right now.

Ok. Onto your comments...

Commenting live from the polynesian!! I love everything about this place. I gotta go check out the TOMS shoes now *googles*
Oooo I love that I got a "live from the Polynesian" comment! I can't wait to hear all about your trip.

The view from your room was lovely! How lucky you were! :goodvibes

I totally understand the frustration at the late-comers crowding in and cutting ahead! That always seems to happen to us too!

Nice update (it makes me so excited to be there tomorrow even if we have to deal with super hyper kids and rude people )
Ah! I hope you guys are having a WONDERFUL trip. I'm so jealous of you right now, it's not even funny. I've only been back for a little over a month, but I'm already ready to be back in WDW.
Great view!!!!

Love the tiki torches in the bathroom! Very cute!

Mmm i love grilled cheese!

My mom is a Mickey rice krispie treat addict! She has to have at least one a vacation!

How could you not go to MK?! I am glad you decided to

How nice of the boat captain to grab that giraffe! I am sure they are used to things falling at that point of docking

I am a fan of POTC I love all of the old rides

Great update! I can't wait to see fireworks at MK!
I think we need to start Mickey Rice Crispy Treat Addicts Anonymous. Those things are super addicting!

And you're right...how could I not go to the MK?? Even though I was in a bit of a funk that evening, I'm glad I went.

I HOPE YOU'RE HAVING AN AWESOMELY FANTABULOUS TRIP!!!!
I love your writing style. Thanks for the update.

The Grilled Cheese looks delicious, and I am hankering for some chips now. I also like Hall and Oates, despite being born in the 80s.

I'm glad the boat captain had good reflexes, but what was that idiot thinking?
The grilled cheese was VERY good. I definitely recommend it to anyone going to Captain Cook's anytime soon.

Yeah, I'm glad the little girl got her giraffe back but I do not know what that crazy man was thinking. :rotfl:

I love your Poly pics! I have to stay there someday! Not only is it beautiful, but you can get grilled cheese and those chips? And dole whips? Yep, I have to stay there! :rotfl:

I'm sorry about the crowd problem at the fireworks. The same thing happened to me in May when we were watching Wishes, I kept saying such snotty things and I know everyone heard me, but I was so annoyed I didn't care, Wishes was pretty much ruined for me with all the strollers passing through! :confused3 :rotfl:

The Summer Nightastic fireworks sounded like they were great! The part with the pirates attacking the castle sounds so cool!

Can't wait to hear about Epcot!
Yeah, I can turn into a little snot if the occasion calls for it, and dealing with these obnoxious people definitely called for it.

I really hope you get to stay at the Poly someday!!
Ahh, I was behind but now I'm all caught up. Love the pictures of the Polynesian. I miss it there so much.

I hate to admit it but I actually enjoyed the MSEP music. :rolleyes1 I think my sisters and I all agreed that the Spectromagic music is better but MSEP is such a classic that it was hard not to enjoy.

The fireworks were really cool too. It was actually the same show they did (or atleast very similar) at the old Pirate and Princess Parties. The pirate parts are pretty sweet. Gotta love the music from Pirates of the Caribbean.
I had a better MSEP experience later in the trip which I will definitely share with y'all at some point (months from now). :rotfl: I mean, I don't think I'll ever consider myself a MSEP fan, but I appreciated it a little bit more after the second viewing.

Yeah, the Pirates of the Caribbean music is awesome. I'm not a huge fan of the movies, but the score is the best. We played it in my high school orchestra and it was so much fun.

Just found your TR and love your writing style. You picked the right profession to go into. I have never stayed at the Poly( DH is too cheap. He would rather stay offsite but at least we are offsite at DISNEY.) but we visit it every trip. Great view from your room. I agree about MSEP. I was so excited to see it again since I remember seeing it as a child. However, after about 5 minutes, I wanted to scream. We are not parade people due to the reasons you mentioned. I can't stand waiting for an hour only to have someone come up at the last minute and push me out of my spot. Looking forward to reading more.
WELCOME!! Thanks for coming along!

The Polynesian is gorgeous and I'm glad that you get to visit even though you aren't staying there. Maybe someday you can convince DH to stay there. ;)

The parades can be such nightmares. I don't understand why people think it's ok to shove everyone else out of the way. :confused3

I love the Poly pics from the room! You guys had a nice view!

I LOVE Capt. Cook's too! :cloud9: I love it getting sushi there.

 All I sing is "On this magic nnnnnight" too! I have to admit, it was really weird not seeing/hearing Spectro the whole trip!

I thought I was going to miss Wishes so much that I wasn't going to like the new fireworks, but it was AWESOME!
I've never had sushi from Captain Cook's....I'll definitely have to try it sometime.

It was SO WEIRD not hearing Spectro and Wishes this trip. If you couldn't tell, I don't deal well with change.
Hey! I am really enjoying your report. :)

We found Disney silly bands at Walgreens. They are different shapes than the ones in the park. In this pack it is just Mickey's head (not his whole body). Actually it is everyone's heads-Daisy, Donald, Minnie, Mickey, Goofy and Pluto. :)
THANKS!!

And OMG. I need to go to Walgreens and buy those! Thanks for letting me know. :thumbsup2
Oh my God, your VIEW!!!!! Wowwwwweeee!! If I stayed at the Poly I would have to get a room like this one. The first floor ones where you can just walk right out to the beach are a little piece of Heaven. So cool the boats were outside of your room like that. And LOL at watching people dock the Sea Raycers. Sure, the Magic Kingdom may be in walking distance, but watching people look like idiots is always fun.

Totally disagree about the MSEP! You don't remember it from older Disney trips? The way you feel about Spectro, I feel about MSEP. That's the parade that screams DISNEY to me, the one I remember as a child. Spectro to me is still like the NEW parade. I mean I obviously adore it, but I love MSEP too. I don't think I like one better than the other. I do like the Spectro music more. It's prettier. But the MSEP music is just so Disney. And the weird clowns in Spectro are just unnecessary, I mean who even thought of that.

And lol omg do not get me started on the whole TOMS thing. Hanson are obsessed with TOMS, they even made their own Hanson TOMS... can we not even get into it. When I saw Hanson at WDW Taylor told me TOMS are great for walking around in the parks LOL. That was before I had been converted into Crocland so I just agreed with him.

Omg, that pirate part of the fireworks is from the Pirate & Princess Party, which I heard from pretty much everyone was the best fireworks show Disney's ever put on. I'm so glad they're utilizing that for the summer!!

I feel so bad that it sounds like you had not such a great first day at WDW but I'm sure you felt better throughout your trip, I mean how could you not with the cheddar cheese soup situation happening in the next update!!!
Someday, when I'm rich, I will be splurging for a 3rd floor theme park view room so that I can sit on the balcony and stare at the Magic Kingdom as I devour boxes of Captain Cook's chips and Mickey Rice Krispy Treats. It would be HEAVEN.

No! I don't remember MSEP AT ALL. It's so weird...I should remember it because I know I saw it back then, but I just can't. I don't know. Apparently I've blacked out some childhood WDW memories.

Taylor is right, TOMS are great shoes for walking around the parks. The only problem is that they take forever to dry if they get wet. So they probably aren't the ideal-light-shining-down-from-the-heavens-on-this-kind-of-perfection park shoe, but I think they're super comfortable.

Yeah, I was in a bit of a funk on the first day, but the rest of the week I was back to my normal, happy, WDW-loving self. :upsidedow
Oh goodness, so much to comment on....

LOVE the view. We actually stayed on the other side of Fuji for my 21st b-day trip. We were on the third floor and had a perfect view of the beach and the Wedding Pavilion. :lovestruc

That picture of the grilled cheese and chips seriously made me want to cry. The Poly's chips are ah-MA-zing. Sigh. :cloud9: I can understand why you would want to go back early just to lay on your bed and eat those puppies.

I love the Spectromagic music, but I prefer the MSEP parade itself. I will miss "On this magic night..." though. I agree, it just screams "DISNEY!!!" to me.

We got to see the special fireworks when we were there in June, and I LOVED the Pirates section. It was AWESOME! We were cheering the whole time. Anything that uses the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie score is awesome, but then you add in Captain Hook and explosions off the Castle? It becomes ridonkulously awesome! :worship:

I can't wait for the next update. Epcot and Le Cellier? Heck yeah! :woohoo:
We've stayed on that side of the building before too! It was a while ago now, but the view was really pretty.

OMG. You just reminded me that I neglected to mention in the last update that the entire crowd was completely engaged with the fireworks. The constant ooohs and aaaahs and gasps made it even more enjoyable. And it felt like the applause went on forever after the show ended. I mean, if we weren't all already standing, I'm pretty sure the people around me would have given it a standing ovation. :rotfl:

WORD. To Big Bird.

I mean, I was already giggling like crazy during the Tina Fey/Kate Gosselin/Jon Hamm/Betty White parts ("Sorry, we've already got too many people!" :lmao:), but then when Hurley from Lost and Nina Dobrev from "The Vampire Diaries" (Two of my FAV shows!!!!) showed up, followed quickly by Joel McHale, I lost it and went totally fangirl, squeeing like crazy and singing along.

I *heart* Jimmy Fallon. So. Much. That whole ten minutes made my YEAR. :worship:

How many more days til Glee premieres again?

Just found your TR, very entertaining! Love the child free TRs the best. Nothing against kids, I just find the childless reports (or at least young children free) more relate-able. I know what you mean about there rarely being wide open spaces in the MK and fighting the urge to move around. Last time we were there, my sister and I were the last ones out of the HM stretching room and there was a huge space between us and the wall behind us. We took advantage of that space and we actually danced! Er, well, she danced. I...tried. (I am very uncoordinated).

Where did you get that shirt with the Minnie Ears on it? I MUST HAVE IT!

Girl I need to know about your cheddar cheese soup experience. What is up. I know that you are too busy watching the most awesome people ever dance awesomely on stage at the Emmys but snap out of it!!!

I like that Cory Monteith is your TV husband b/c this way we do not have to fight over Mark Salling. I would say Alec Baldwin is my TV husband but really I prefer to say he is just my husband in real life and always.

Oh btw I may or may not be posting this b/c it is 6am and I can not sleep. Anyway..maybe I should update my TR? is it even still on this board? When did I even last update that thing? So many questions...

The little errrgh sound Tina made after the "Sorry, we've already got too many people!" line killed me. I LOVE THAT WOMAN!

I know I've been quite vocal about my issues with Kate Gosselin, but I respect her a bit more now because she was willing to make fun of herself like that. Mad props, Kate.

And yeah, I love Jimmy. A lot. I think he's hysterical. I need to go to NY soon so that I can go to a taping of one of his shows. Maybe I'll be picked to play my favorite game show ever, Wheel of Carpet Samples!!

18 days until Glee...if I just counted correctly. :rotfl:

Thanks for joining us!! :goodvibes

You are awesome for dancing in the Stretching Room. That totally sounds like something I would do.

I ordered my Minnie Ears shirt online from Delia's in the spring. I'm not sure if they're still selling it or not, but you should definitely check. :thumbsup2

Oh, that works out perfectly! We can go on double dates in our TV-related fantasies. And Alec Baldwin is quite a catch. I'm just bummed I wasn't invited to the wedding....

I'm working on the next update and will hopefully have it ready to post at some point this weekend. Unfortunately, you'll have to wait a bit for the cheddar cheese soup. We have a lot of adventures through Future World to cover before we get to Le Cellier. And um, yes you do need to update your TR. I'm still waiting to hear about the crazy bus antics. All antic-related stories need to be told ASAP.

JULY 24TH PART 1: EPCOT!!!!
As you all probably noticed, on our first day at WDW, I had a bit (err…maybe a “bit” is an understatement) of Mr. Grumpy Gills in me. It was still a really fun day, but I was just…off. Thankfully for me (and for you all, because reading about my grumpiness is kind of a downer) the sour mood only lasted that first day. When I woke up on the morning of Day Two, I was refreshed, full of energy, and just downright happy.

I jumped in the shower and was quickly reminded just how much the showers at the Polynesian suck. I can never seem to rinse my hair out completely. But like I said, I was in a REALLY good mood, and not even terrible water pressure and sticky hair could bring me down.

For breakfast I ate what I consider to be the Breakfast of Champions – a Mickey Rice Krispy Treat and a bottle of Apple Juice. Everyone else went and got something healthy from Captain Cook’s, but I stuck with the best breakfast anyone could possibly imagine. Maybe it’s not exactly healthy in the nutritional sense, but it’s pretty darn healthy for the soul.

Here’s a picture that Dad took of me eating breakfast:
DSCN3118.jpg

Once our breakfasts were eaten and we were all dressed and ready to go, we hiked it over to the Transportation and Ticket Center to catch the monorail to my favorite park, Epcot!

Right as we passed the Volcano Pool, we encountered a family who looked completely lost. They were standing there in a circle with annoyed “Like I know what I’m supposed to be doing” looks on all of their faces. Right as we were about to pass them, the dad made a typical “I’m the Dad. I know what I’m doing. Follow me” gesture and they took off on the path towards the TTC.

So we were trailing behind them the entire walk, and I figured they were just confused as to whether to walk to the TTC or take the monorail over there to catch the Epcot monorail. Well, imagine my surprise when we arrived at the TTC and they walked up the ramp to the RESORT MONORAIL. I wanted to be like, um, you do know you could have just boarded the resort monorail at the Great Ceremonial House WHERE YOU WERE STANDING ORIGINALLY. But whatever. I’m just always surprised at how many people show up at Disney with absolutely no clue as to what they’re doing. People are crazy.

I should also mention that even though it was only 8:30, it was HOT. I was already sweating on the walk over. It’s never a good sign when you’re sweating before you actually get to the parks.

Anyway, we headed up the ramp to the Epcot monorail.
DSCN3119.jpg

I love these archways. They are so perfectly Disney.

We had to wait a little bit for a monorail to come – probably about 10 minutes – but it wasn’t terrible. At least we were waiting in the shade. And I was on cloud nine the entire time just knowing that Epcot was minutes away.

When the monorail finally came, I threw myself into the car and jumped up and down excitedly in my seat, chanting “Ep-cot, Ep-cot, Ep-cot!” over and over in my head. When we drove overtop the Epcot parking lot and I finally caught a glimpse of Spaceship Earth, I lost it. Then the Monorail Voice Guy started in on his spiel about all of the pavilions, and I had my face pressed against the window cartoon-style, looking down on everything…I was about ready to burst with excitement.

I pretty much skipped down the ramps and into the bag check line. Which took forever. Is it just me, or do the Epcot security guards check everyone’s bags more thoroughly than they do at the other parks? Or maybe I just look suspicious and they feel the need to give my bag a complete examination. I took a class on Terrorism Freshman Year...We had to read a bunch of terror-related stuff online. Does that mean I’m on the Terror Watch List now? Is the CIA reading this report right now looking for any signs of terrorist activity? I promise I’m not a terrorist! I love America! I get chills every time people do the U-S-A chant. I pretend to be a hardcore soccer fan every four years just because I like watching the US win stuff. I cried tears of joy when Landon Donovan scored the game-winning goal against Algeria. Anyway, I was just a little surprised that Security made me open my glasses case and my wallet…that seems like a bit much. Especially because if I really wanted to smuggle something in, I could just walk in with it on my body.

And Mr. CIA Agent reading this, I’m not saying I would do that, just that people could…I promise I’m not a terrorist.

After Security felt reasonably sure I wasn’t hiding anything, we headed towards the turnstiles.
DSCN3120.jpg

And then we saw this…
DSCN3121.jpg

Looking up at Spaceship Earth while the Entrance Loop plays in the background is such an inspiring experience. I’m kind of obsessed with that music loop. I listen to it all the time at home. But actually hearing the “real” thing as I’m walking towards all of the adventures Epcot has in store for me is the greatest feeling in the world.

Unlike the majority of people my age, I LOVE to use my brain. I love to learn. I love to question things. I love to think about how complex our world really is. I love exploring. I love experiencing things I wouldn’t normally get to experience at home. It drives me insane when people complain about how boring Epcot is, or how they don’t want to learn things while on vacation. Epcot isn’t boring. Knowledge isn’t boring. Opening yourself up to new experiences isn’t boring. Spending a few hours of your vacation using your brain instead of just mindlessly riding rides isn’t going to kill you. In fact, it will probably make you a better person.

Unfortunately, I have first-hand experience with these types of complaints because I come from a family of Epcot haters. Well, maybe not “haters” exactly, but I can’t get them to spend more than one day at Epcot each trip. And that one day is usually filled with complaints about how they’d rather be back at the pool than walking around World Showcase. [Sidenote: If a family of Epcot-lovers would like to adopt me, I’d appreciate it. Or you could just borrow me for vacations. If you’d like to trade your Epcot-hating kid for me, I don’t think my parents would mind.]

So while I was excitedly bouncing into the park, the rest of my family wasn’t quite as excited. Usually when touring the parks, I’m the one trailing behind because I stop to take pictures of everything and want to take my time to soak up all the little details. But at Epcot, I am a woman on a mission. I still take pictures of everything, but I’m the one leading the way with my family unenthusiastically dragging behind. If I only have a day to do everything I wanna do, we aren’t going to waste a second dragging our feet.

They had literally just dropped the ropes as we arrived here:
DSCN3122.jpg

So we joined up with the masses and headed towards TEST TRACK, BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DSCN3123.jpg

It wasn’t actually 9:00 yet, so we had to stand outside for a few minutes before they began letting people into the building.
DSCN3124.jpg

Before long, we were winding through the queue at lightning fast speed. Thank god for that because the Test Track queue is the worst. Listening to all that banging and clanging and techno music for more than 5 minutes is not only annoying, but also headache-inducing. Especially when it’s 9:00 AM and it feels like the surface of the sun outside.

This is the only picture I took of the queue/ride.
DSCN3125.jpg

Why in the world would they call it the “Seat Jounce and Squirm”? I’m known for often using weird words, but “jounce” and “squirm”? I feel like they typed “shake” into a Word document and used the thesaurus to come up with those. I don’t know. It just made me laugh.

Because the ride had just opened, they weren’t having us stop and watch the pre-show, so we just walked right through. Before we knew it, we were boarding our car and heading out for a test drive.

There are so many things I love about Test Track, but I think my absolute favorite part is the narration. Right off the bat you get hit with the, “Hello! The seatbelt check IS around the corner.” Have you ever noticed how the woman really emphasizes the IS? It’s like, just in-case you were doubting it, there IS a seatbelt check, and it IS around the corner. And you’re not going to be able to avoid it no matter how hard you try. It cracks me up. Then there’s the “Alright! That’s the way it oughta be!” after the anti-lock brakes do their thing. It all just kills me. Do you think I could hire those two to narrate my life? I could really use an “Alright! That’s the way it oughta be!” whenever I do something right.

After Test Track, we headed over to Mission: Space. Mom and I didn’t ride as we are both claustrophobic, but Dad and Katie did. Here’s a picture of the riders by the Mission: Space sign.
DSCN3129.jpg

Mom and I went inside and looked around the gift shop for a while. I had fun looking through some of the books about outer space. I’m a big Space nerd, so I had a lot of fun with this. I’ve wanted to be many things when I grow up, one of which being an astronaut. I was really serious about it, too. Until I realized that with my claustrophobia, anxiety, and fear of just about everything, I could never survive in space. So even though I’ll never actually be an astronaut, I’m still fascinated by space.

Eventually, Mom and I decided to head further into the building to where they have all of the video games and stuff. I don’t remember what it’s called. Somehow Mom and I were recruited to participate in the Mission: Space Race – which is basically just a big multi-player video game.
DSCN3130.jpg

For those of you who have never done it, I’ll do my best to explain. Cast Members recruit 8 people, divided up into 2 teams (we were on Team Orion) who serve as astronauts in the Race. The astronauts have to stand up in front of everyone because we play on giant screens so that everyone in the area can watch. That made my mom very nervous. She’s not really a video game person, and she didn’t want to embarrass herself.

The main goal of the entire thing is to keep your team’s space ship in tip-top shape so that it can travel really fast and win the race. The four astronauts accomplish this by matching up colored gems to the corresponding colored area of the ship. There were special buttons you had to press to do this. The faster you matched everything up, the faster the ship traveled.

Besides the 8 astronauts, there were also a bunch of people playing from computers in the crowd. They were also divided up among the 2 teams, and their job was to help the astronauts out by playing some alternate game to win more of the necessary colored gems as quick as they could, so that the astronauts could use them to fix the ship faster.

You’re probably REALLY confused right now, but I don’t really know how to explain it any other way. Just go play it sometime. Then you’ll understand. :upsidedow

Mom and I were on Team Orion with a tweenaged brother and sister duo. I was pretty excited to be on Team Orion because it reminded me of Orion from the Zenon movies. MMMmmmm Orion. He was really hot in a nerdy space dork way. Because you are all awesome, I trust that you know what I’m talking about. If not, ZETUS LUPEDUS you really need to go back and watch all of the classic Disney Channel Original Movies.

The brother and sister duo were really quiet, but they were both really awesome at video games. At certain points, someone from your team has to run over and push a BOOST button and the brother was really into this. He would sprint over and smack the button…It was funny.

In the end, thanks to the siblings’ skills, my ability to get the hang of things quickly (I’m not a video game person by any means), and Mom not completely sucking, TEAM ORION WAS VICTORIOUS! High fives all around! :woohoo:

UP NEXT: More Future World!

Ahhhh Epcot music, Ahhhh Epcot monorail, how I miss you :(
I listen to the Epcot loop all the friggen time (actually, the main Innoventions chorus is my ringtone, so when we walked around there I checked my phone TWICE because I thought it was rining for a second)

I actually LOLed at this, No i've never noticed that, but I could still here her in my head when I read that! And you're right, we need a narrator to go "alright!" every now and then!

I love the word "jounce"!

For breakfast I ate what I consider to be the Breakfast of Champions – a Mickey Rice Krispy Treat and a bottle of Apple Juice.

Maybe not the most healthy breakfast, but it's far from the most unhealthy. Besides, calories don't count at WDW.

Looking forward to your next series of pictures!

Oh I feel the same way about Epcot! I play Epcot entrance music every morning in my classroom when my students come in and do their morning work. It's so funny, by like November, they start humming along! DH said I've ruined them because now if they ever to go WDW, they're going to have visions of school!

I didn't know that they didn't play the pre-show for TT so early in the morning! Interesting....

I LOVE those two that narrate the ride, too! See the quote under my username!

I LOVE Epcot! I love the entrance music, I play it all the time in my car, I can't wait to be walking into Epcot in 2 months and hear it while I'm there!!! :cool1:

I can't believe your family doesn't like Epcot! It's my favorite park, it's so much fun, there is so much to do, and it's such an adult park, I'm surprised your parents don't like it! :yay:

And I can totally relate to being a Space nerd, I'm one too. I also wanted to be an astronaut when I was little...but not in that little kid fantasy way, I really wanted to be one!

I honestly don't think I remember the narration of Test Track! :confused3 I'll have to pay more attention to it this November after reading your description of it! :rotfl:

Woo, great update! If you can eat Rice Krispies cereal for breakfast, why not a rice krispy treat? haha Sounds yummy. And those Disney rice krispy treats are a million times better than regular ones anyway. They gave us some free ones at the DVC holiday event a couple years ago and OMG. SO GOOD.

haha, I liked your reference to Landon Donovan's goal in the World Cup. My sisters and I played soccer for several years so we've always been pretty into soccer. That goal was amazing. I found a youtube video (well, actually my sister did) of all these bars when he scored and everyone was going nuts. Definitely made you proud to be an American. OK, sorry for that bit of randomness...anyway, back to the security, sometimes I don't get what they're looking for either. Some of them are so strict and need to see every nook and cranny in your bag while others just glance at it and say have a magical day! Weird. :confused3

That is so strange, the seat jounce and squirm?! LOL. I've never noticed that before.

Can't wait for more!

WAhoooo!! EPCOT!!!

I keep telling my mom that we need to get those monorail archways installed in our kitchen, for some reason I don't get a response from her... hmm.

You must look suspicious because I swear no matter which park I'm at, no matter what time, I open my bag, they look inside for one second, touch the bottom for one second, and I'm on my way. I'm always like, dude, I could be carrying like 4 Flamethrowers and 10 switchblades in this thing and you wouldn't have a clue! But I've heard from some CMs/Former CMs that there is way more going on in terms of security measures than we know about or will ever hear about so that makes me feel better. Overall I feel safer at Disney than anywhere. I still keep an eye out, it's in my nature, but I feel a lot better.

Imagining your family "dragging unenthusiastically behind" you at Epcot is making me sad! OMG! You must really love them on account of the fact that you have not ditched them yet. LOL. Thankfully my parents adore Epcot. I can't imagine having only one day there each trip.. is there a ton you haven't seen yet? I myself still feel as though I haven't thoroughly explored WS enough, even though I've spent days doing it. That's why, if we go in Nov, it will be an insanely Epcot heavy trip. Yep. Has nothing to do with the Food and Wine Festival. Ahem.

I'm always in too much of a Mission Space induced coma to even remember my name, never mind notice all those video games. That room is kind of dark and I'm all like AHHHH!! AM I BACK IN SPACE?? SAVE ME GARY SINISE!!! But maybe next time I will take a breather and then check them out! I'm not much of a ~gamer, unless it's Crash Bandicoot or Sonic the Hedgehog, duh.

Well, can't wait for the next one. Hope your move is going/went well!! I can't remember if you updated us on that or not...:rotfl2: I'm brain dead. But I wish you well all the same!! :cool2:

By the way, I forgot to mention that the picture of you eating breakfast has now been saved into my archives for the Girls of the DIS sexy calendar. You can't just post photos like that if you DON'T want them sold to millions of anxious buyers! Or maybe that's WHY you posted the photo... you had this planned all along. I see through your shenanigans!!!

I love your enthusiasm for Epcot!! We love that park and I think we stopped there almost everyday last week :)

As for your breakfast...Mmmmmm!

I actually LOLed at this, No i've never noticed that, but I could still here her in my head when I read that! And you're right, we need a narrator to go "alright!" every now and then!
HAHAHAHA That's hilarious about your ringtone. And you're awesome for having the Innoventions chorus as your ringtone. I feel like I should have a Disney ringtone, but then again, I usually just leave my phone on vibrate so it wouldn't matter much.

I love the word "jounce"!

Maybe not the most healthy breakfast, but it's far from the most unhealthy. Besides, calories don't count at WDW.

Looking forward to your next series of pictures!
Jounce is quite the word. It makes me think of the worst joust, though. And now I have a mental picture of two test cars in a jousting match. ...I have a weird mind.

You're the COOLEST TEACHER EVER for playing the Epcot music in class. It's such a great idea though because that music is so inspiring. It would totally get me in the right frame of mind for a day of learning.

Yeah, I guess they were just trying to get as many people onto the ride as quickly as they could. It was weird though because I've never been ushered through the TT pre-show. On other rides, we've been waved right through but NEVER TT.

:rotfl:
Yeah, I don't really understand why they don't like it. I guess it's just that they like all of the other parks more and would rather be spending their time elsewhere. It's crazy to me because I could spend an entire week at Epcot and not get bored, but that's just how they feel.:confused3 All I know is that I've gotta find a husband who likes Epcot as much as I do because when I have a family, we will be spending A LOT of time there.

OMG. Definitely pay more attention to the Test Track narration. It's hilarious.

GREAT point about Rice Krispies! And FREE MICKEY RICE KRISPY TREATS?!?!?! OMG. I need to buy into DVC.

I've seen that youtube video and it is AMAZING. I love moments like that when the whole country is united behind a common goal.

They must just think I look suspicious then. LOL. Usually they don't check my bag that thoroughly, but I swear, I was expecting this Epcot Security Guard to shine a bright light into my eyes and start questioning me. I agree though about feeling really safe at Disney. I never let my guard down completely, but I trust that Disney knows what they're doing to keep us all safe.

If my parents weren't the ones paying for our trips, I would have ditched them a loooong time ago. :rotfl: Plus, I'm weird and don't really like going off by myself at Disney. I'd much rather be sharing the experience with someone else. But, seriously, when I start going on trips sans family, I'm going to be spending A LOT of time at Epcot to make up for it.

Yeah, I definitely haven't gotten enough of a chance to truly explore World Showcase. I wanna watch all of the different performers and eat at all of the restaurants and take more time to actually look around each country. I ALWAYS make sure I get at least one walk around World Showcase each trip, but the family is never really thrilled with it. Especially in the summer when it's 80 million degrees outside. A spring or fall trip to spend a ton of time at Epcot is on my I HAVE TO DO THIS SOMEDAY list.

I'm not much of a gamer either, but we'd never been back there so we figured why not? It ended up being fun. It's not really a must-do for every trip, but if I have some free time, I'd definitely go back.

Thanks! Katie moved in at college on Thursday which was a big step. It's starting to set in for my mom that both of her kids are going to be out of the house now and she's not liking it too much. I move into my house next week and I have a TON of stuff to do before then. I am dreading packing. I feel like it was so much easier packing up to live in a dorm, but now that I have my own space, I wanna bring so much more with me. Plus, my room is on the third floor of the house and I am dreading carrying everything up there. Blah.

I am so glad that you got the hint! I mean, that picture is easily the sexiest picture I've ever taken. I'm sure that millions of men are just dying to get their hands on a copy of it. Would you like me to sign a few of them so that we can charge more? I can touch them all with sticky Rice Krispy Treat fingers...

I love your enthusiasm for Epcot!! We love that park and I think we stopped there almost everyday last week :)

Ah I am so jealous of you!!! And I can't wait to hear all about your trip! :yay:

*raises right hand*

I do solemnly swear to streamline Epcot Music through my computer as I read this trip report.

Aww... an empty nest. That's gotta be hard. I know packing is annoying and everything but you can have like ~a whole new start! Plus it's awesome living in an actual house instead of a dorm. And having roomates and everything, you're basically your own sitcom!!

I knew it!!!!!!

Yes please sign many of them and include the stickiness. Thanks!

Oh my gosh. You don't even know. I'm living with 5 other girls who are just as wacky as I am. I think I need to keep a record of all our shennanigans and then someday I can turn it into a sitcom. I have a feeling that what will go down in this crazy house is deserving of one.
