at MK anyway! Went over today and they have the boughs up at the ticket area and wreaths on store windows. The biggest decoration so far is the huge Christmas tree over by the Rose Garden. They were also playing Christmas music.

Just wanted to add (for those that are coming in december)... the Christmas tree will be in the Rose Garden until December 6 or 7th and then it will be moved back to it's normal spot in Town Square (by the flag pole). It is currently in the Rose Garden because of the parade filming December 3, they did not want to set it up, move it for the filming and then move it back.

What a nice surprise this was to see! we were at MK on wed. or thurs night and it was not decorated, went on saturday and it was all up. Even the christmas music on main street was playing. The Trolley show dancers were all decked out in holiday outfits too.

I call BS.

Disney is famous for an almost overnight transformation from no holliday decorations to full christmas during the week of thanksgiving.

I'm confused. So none of the decorations go up before Thanksgiving? Most other places anymore decorate for the holidays well before Thanksgiving. Guess I know not to plan to go in Nov if I want to see any Holiday Decor.

Confused as well about your comment. Are you saying you don't believe that they are already up? I assure you they are...working on Main Street it is kind of hard to miss the addition of the Christmas Decorations....

We watched the fireworks after dinner at the California Grill this past Saturday and you could see the huge Christmas Tree in front of the castle!

New York Street is closed off at MGM and a lot of the Osborne lights are up. We were there last weekend and spotted the lights:

When we went in early November 2002 the resort decoration were going up. I have heard of the overnight transformation following Thanksgiving before, but I don't think it is a complete transformation. I've also heard that the transformation from the day before to the first day of the flower and garden festival is amazing, but we were in Epcot the day before and the day of and it wasn't that different. A bit more color, but the big things had been done the week before.

PS - Thanks for the update on the Christmas decorations to the OP. I'm so excited. We've never been at full blown Christmas before and we leave in 25 days

There is a miraculous amount of decorations put up overnight on Thanksgiving but it isn't every stitch of the millions of pounds of decorations that they do. A significant amount is done ahead of time. I can't wait, we are leaving tomorrrow.

we went last year 11/7-11/12 to WDW and saw christmas decorations at most resorts and some at the parks.

 I can't wait! I haven't seen the WDW Christmas Decorations since 2001 My Grandson's are going to be in Heaven. :cloud9:

I wanted to do the Holiday Tour with DH before everyone arrived to meet us there. But he wasn't as interested in it as I am. I love Christmas decorations. :cloud9:

Thank you all so much for this information! I've been wondering if it would be to early for Christmas decorations to be up when we got there (leaving on Friday!!!) and now I know that they will be up- and the music will be playing too! You have no idea how excited I am to hear about this! I'm bringing 2 friends down there with me- one is a nebie and the other has only been there once- with all her kids! This is a girls only trip and we're gonna have a BLAST!

thanks for the pics Palmtreegirl, proves I wasn't seeing things lol!

Just to put our info up. We went to AK on November 1...we were there at park opening. Xmas was up everywhere and the Xmas music was playing everywhere.

In talking to CMs, they said people in November probably don't get to be in WDW in December so they switch over the Xmas (at least at AK) on November 1.

I LOVE hearing about the decorations and am so excited about our up-coming Christmas trip. We really need a sticky for Holiday Photos!!
