Hello, all! We are planning a short trip. We have visited many times, but it's been a few years. We went to DLP this summer and were so disappointed that we feel the need to go to WDW to be "re- Disneyfiied"!
Magic + is new to us.....any and all advice is welcome! It is just DH and I, both in our 50s.

I would suggest that you buy the Unofficial Guide to WDW and check out easywdw.com for their cheat sheets. Enjoy!

If you havent gotten your resort reservations yet I would be checking for any discounts on the Disney site where it says specials on the drop down menu. I would then go to easywdw.com and figure out what parks you want to visit on what days by checking out the crowd calendar. Then if you can make any dining reservations at 180 days before you arrive if your staying on site. You can choose fastpasses 60 days in advance if your staying onsite so you can figure out which ones you would want before that because some of the popular rides go fast.
Of course to go do all this you need to set up an account on the Disney World site so you can manage your dining reservations and fastpasses yourself on My Disney Experience.

The new Magic+ is very different from DL, prepare for a bit of a shock and plan ahead pretty heavily. We live in California and have been known to make it to DL 4-5 times in a year, where as WDW is more like once a year. The first time we experienced the new FP setup we were pretty close to thinking about never going back. I'm sure you'll find and exhausting list of advice on how to do them... Our approach is to take more afternoon ones and then allow us to show up early on mornings and hit very sought after attractions before our Fast Passes. Overall we still love the experience of WDW, in DL we feel like 3 days is plenty of time and after a full week in WDW we could still use more time, but all in all we prefer the FP experience of DL to that of WDW.

You were disappointed in DL? Just wondering in what way?
We honestly felt the opposite.
Get ready to plan, plan and more planning. Have fun.

And please do not forget to start planning the planning. A lot of people forget that part and its crucial.

Planning is half the fun :) I love planning our trips to Disney World ! I actually love the new fastpass system they have. It lets me pick my favorite rides while sitting at home instead of running here and there trying to get some before they run out.

Oh I missed the Disneyland Paris part. I would agree except hate to say on our last visit last month it seemed more like DL Paris to me. (Not as clean, crowd more pushy then in the past, and not as helpful or friendly CM's) only thing we didn't see thank goodness was smoking on the ques like at DL Paris.

Last time I was in California was ten years ago, and I was lucky enough to stay in The Grand Californian. Our experience was great, but it is certainly not recent! Last time I was in Paris was July.
