It's Back-January Trip-A-Day Contest!

I keep on thinking positive but days are running out :( I need to keep on thinking, "I think I can.... I think I can...." Maybe I should change the mantra to, "I will, I will."

Oh and congrats to the winners, I'm not jealous at all! ;) :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Well it's 5 PM est and no email today. I'm running out of days that I can say maybe tomorrow. I brought up to Serial about staying at yacht/BC or Boardwalk. We stay in that area a lot and love it. Our home DVC resort in Bay Lake which is gorgeous and great location but we have been liking being able to walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Plus you can see fireworks if you stand on the bridges in those resort areas. There is excellent dining at those resorts as well (yachtsman steakhouse- yum!). What you would pay in taxes to stay at a deluxe is probably equal to you paying for a value resort. And after staying at a deluxe, you won't want to stay at a value again.
Thanks for the heads up... I have considered boardwalk.. I have also heard wonderful things about Yacht as well... Poly I stayed in the night of my wedding (a comp form WDW)... beautiful but tricky to find your room LOL... not sure I want to do that with kids. I do have to find the best 3.... hoping to choose ones that I know I could never afford LOL

Boardwalk, yacht and beach all have long indoor hallways. I love te sad bottom pool for yacht/BC. They scan your magic band at the entrance to make sure you are a guest there.

If I'm lucky enough to be picked, I think I would choose GF or Poly. It's too many points per night to use dvc. My third would be between beach or yacht.

Do you think Bay Towers is an option?

Do you think Bay Towers is an option?

I know that cash paying guests can stay at Bay Lake but I think it's mainly DVC.
It's a nice resort. But honestly, you have to go to Comptemporay for nearly everything. There is a pool, but dining is all at Contempoary.

Weather wise I like going in the first two weeks of December. It's a value season too (at least for Dvc).

Sorry about the typos before. My phone doesn't always keep up with my thumbs.

I know..... I keep hoping I get an email too.... Nothing yet.... :sad1:

"Faint heart never won fair sweepstakes*."

* I may have taken liberties with that quote.

Don't despair! There is always tomorrow! There are always other sweepstakes!

Contemporary then? LOL

Lol. It's your vacation. I'm just living vicariously through you. Lol. Seriously depending if you want a monorail resort. I don't know why but for MK area, GF or Poly is more appealing.

If it was me that won and was planning, I would say you get 4 nights/5 days. MK area is covered with the castle stay. For ease of transportation, Epcot area is nice because you are between HS and Epcot. But then again staying at GF would be nice and not ordinarily affordable.

Actually, you have a very hard decision to make. Lol

Is there any resort that you have had a meal at and said that you would really like to stay? I'm kind of like that at GF.

Yes, I'm like that at GF too! I would love to stay there. But I would also love to stay at the Poly! Or the Contemporary. Or, or...OK, anywhere. :rotfl:

Do you think Bay Towers is an option?

Bay Lake won't be an option since it is DVC but like the pp said, the Contemporary will be and is practically the same. I love the convenience of walking to MK :thumbsup2 Can't remember if you have little ones in strollers but if so, nothing beats being able to walk.

I'm like that with the Poly :goodvibes I'm not sure what exactly it is about it, but there's something that makes me want to stay there over the GF and Contemporary. Every time we eat at 'Ohana I dream about staying there :cloud9:

Sounds like you want to go to Aulani! Lol

I've loved Boma so much my last 2 visits that I'd consider AKL if I won- oops I mean when. Previously I hadn't considered it in my dream resort list because I thought the rooms seemed so dark with super busy bedding when I was previously looking at the photo gallery on allears. Yes I plan down to the bedding for my dream resort lol.

But I just looked at the WDW site yesterday (planning for my looming win lol) and room decor seems much brighter and simpler now at AKL. In fact the poly, contemporary, and GF seem different too. Have some resorts recently changed their bedding?

Also this may sound ridic but I was weighing yacht vs beach a while ago, in case I could ever afford deluxe, and every legitimate YC pro (1st bus stop pick up and drop off, more balconies available, closer to boat launch, Yachtsman Steakhouse, etc.) was outweighed by the Mickey lifeguard stand lamp at Beach Club lol. I love that lamp enough to pick that resort over any other and beg Disney to let me buy one as a memento lol. If only they could put that lamp in the YC it'd be perfect! I mean look at it:

Typically though we stay at Coronado Springs for affordability and I feel it's pretty centrally located and masquerades as a deluxe. I love the casitas' water fountains and the pool is super nice.

You are so funny! I would stay at POP too LOL.... I want to see what is more affordable (tax wise)... Now I am finding myself checking my email every 10 minutes!

Thanks on the funny. I try to put humor in my day when I'm feeling stressed and not many people appreciate it. Today was an every 10 minutes check for me too.

Ya I enjoyed breakfast at 1900 PF and thought GF was pretty. I probably wouldn't pay to stay there or Contemporary. Poly only because we honeymooned there and I doubt I'll ever get to Hawaii.

Cinderella's Royal Table? ;)

:lmao: That was good.

ahahahaha this is not easy!!! I hope you all win.

No it's not easy. And yes we all hope the same. :cool1:
We all hope to have your problem. ;)

If one of you winners could ask Disney what pricepoint they are assigning to the night in the Castle Suite,I think that would be very interesting.:)

Thanks.:)
