It's Back-January Trip-A-Day Contest!

RejoyceoverDisney...... I just wanted to say I appreciate how you've kept this thread so much fun. I'll miss seeing you pop into my inbox every day once the month is over. I hope your son is doing well at school this year. I might have to dredge up that thread from last year and see how everyone else is doing.

And I have to say....... I hope I win of course. But I'm grateful they are giving away so many trips so I can hope you win too! :cool1:

I love the idea of dreaming about a resort to stay in!! We own DVC at Bay Lake and LOVE it there - the convenience of being able to walk to the MK, having so many restaurant options over the foot bridge, the water pageant and we are big fans of the pool/slide/splash pad as well as the community hall activities, and watching the fireworks from the lounge (contemporary has a viewing area too!)...my kids are obsessed with watching the monorail too...If we didn't own DVC a at BLT, contemporary would definitely be on my list...

Since we do own DVC and this does include a castle sweet night so we can make those our MK days (talk about a short walk for rope drop!), I think I would be looking somewhere different....we don't like GF or WL...and we can stay DVC a at AKLV pretty easily...so I think our three would be Poly (we spent 10 nights here on our honeymoon and loved it), Beach/Yacht..I do love the convenience of access to two parks and definitely hope to use our DVC a there someday, but we tend to visits when rundisney overlaps wine and dine - so getting into those resorts is tricky for us!!

I entered in Spanish today...fingers crossed that schools are open and I have an enter button tomorrow!!

I'm boring, but as much as I dream about staying at a deluxe, I'd probably see if a suite at AoA was possible. There's a reason we're staying at AMu and it's because we have 3 adults and 2 children (one of whom is an infant) and none of us loves the idea of being trapped in the same room as the baby. Not even a deluxe room.

If he suddenly becomes an amazing sleeper, I'd be tempted by either AKL or one of the monorail resorts. Though I think my husband and bff would like an Epcot resort, so they could stumble home from F&W.

I've stayed at AKL with an infant and this is what we did.... Set up the pack and play in the sink area. It's closed off to where it feels like it's own room but open just enough to where I can hear him. I would put him in the pack and play for bed and then go out on the balcony (door slightly open) and watch the animals with my husband. It was wonderful and worked out well!

Love the excitement coming from those who have posted regarding winning and planning their trips! I also love the posts and responses to our big storm here in MA. It is such a small world after all with so many Disers in the MA area, and being familiar with each others communities and colleges! I haven't been out of my yard since early Monday afternoon and keep finding myself coming here to be excited for the winners, sharing hope and luck with all of us who are desperately hoping to be the next winner, and checking my emails and spam folder countless times a day 'cause one needs to dream of being the next lucky winner!

I now am sharing your excitement about picking the perfect resort for your winning trip. I never even thought about where I would pick! I have been happy at a value, loved the Yacht Club (only could book because of a great discount back in the 90's), and have absolutely enjoyed our trips at the moderates. Our first Christmas trip was absolutely beautiful this year, and if any of the winners have not been at this time and can go while the decorations are all up and the castle glistening in its lights, I would recommend it. By all means, if you can skip Christmas week to New Years you will find it much more enjoyable! We went from 12/19 - 12/30 and starting around the 23rd it just got crazier and crazier, but I'd do it again since we pretty much have to plan most days during our youngest son's school vacations and my love of the decor during this season1

OMG, so excited for the winners! I'd love to stay at the Poly if the construction was done (especially the pool area), but in the meantime I'd pick GF or BC. Both are great locations for different reasons. I think with a little one I'd prefer being on the monorail and close to MK, but the BC pool is really nice and accessibility to Epcot and HS has it draws too! I love AKL too, and if you or little ones are into animals it is worth considering. The convenience of the other resorts I picked would probably sway me for a winning trip. Gosh, I need to stop being excited for you now! Tomorrow has yet to be declared another snow day (getting spoiled now) in our town, and I need to be up in 6 hours!

Cinderella's Royal Table? ;)

Ha! ha! I have to agree!!

Since the contest is ending soon, this may be one of my last chances to dream about winning so I'll jump in on picking resorts. I think my top choices would have to be the three monorail resorts. Contemporary's theme may be the least appealing to me, but I still remember my first trip to WDW and being so amazed by a hotel with a monorail going right through it. It is pretty cool! GF and Poly are definitely tied at the top of my list. I so love their theming and the atmosphere there. I do have to say, though, that YC/BC are pretty appealing too. I loved riding the boats between DHS and EPCOT and seeing them from that perspective. What a fun decision to get to make! I can't wait to hear what all of our winners choose! And good luck to the rest of us! We need a couple more Dis winners!!

I'm pretty good at figuring out lawyer language but I'm confused for the 31st. Do we still enter? Or are all entries automatically carried over?

We have DVC at Bay Lake as well. Did they fix the situation with the buses? I find that since GF, Poly, Contemporary and Bay Lake all share buses, they are overcrowded and lengthy wait times from the parks.

I had read that they were going to make some changes to that ordering but not sure if they did. We have been renting a car and find it much more convenient (and sort of a necessity of we are participating in the race activities because taking the bus to espn for package pickup on Friday and the kids races Saturday would eat a lot of time!!

My DH and I were discussing this exact thing last night when he was saying poly poly poly for his dream top 3 - but we think that we have become very spoiled with BLT that it might be hard to go back to needing transportation everywhere!! I think we would use the opportunity to try an Epcot resort...

We love Bay Lake too. It's so nice to walk to MK. We've been staying at Boardwalk lately and fell in love with proximity to Epcot and HS. I would love to stay at Beach but it's near impossible to get reservations at 7 months out. I think we will try splitting our stay soon by making our reservations at BLT at 11 months then at 7 trying to find some available nights at GF or BC.

ya I'm confused about this too. But thought it was just cause I'm not a lawyer talk kind of person. I guess we just get up and try to enter. If the button isn't there we know we are entered from the other days of the month.

I was able to get in first try again this morning. So at least one more day to try. I think I only missed 2 days this month.:cool1:
However the only thing I ever remember winning is a folling thing that is suppose to help me have better abs. LOL that would be because no one else probably put their ticket in the bucket. And oh ya that was like 20 years ago and I really should give it a try. :confused3

Thanks mom2rtk. My guy went back last night as I was able to get him to come home because of the storm. He will be graduating a semester early (next December) so I'm pretty excited about that, but then start to worry he won't get a job or he will get a job and move away. sigh I don't feel like I'm gonna win on this one either. He is doing amazing, but what is super hard is prior to college he and I did tons of stuff together. We even have a Disney trip in the memory banks, just the two of us. But now, it's like pulling teeth to get him to commit to doing something with me. Part of why he came home was because the college was closing down and there was limited cafe access for those that did stay. He's off campus in an apartment and he was almost out of food. LOL So ya he came home to restock but the frustrating part was he couldn't tell me what he wanted/needed. I was guessing.

And of course because I sent so much I was trying to give him "put this is the freezer" instructions and he was not really listening. Of course I know he won't starve to death and we can get there if we have to at some point.

So ya a win will make me a little more cheerful.

I really do appreciate those of you that have appreciated my posts. After I joke sometimes I wonder how many roll their eyes when they see my next post coming. But life is too short to always be serious and not find the fun things to laugh about.

Maybe some of you can relate to this. I can't think of any place I rather vacation than WDW and the reason is because it's not all about the characters and rides. We have so much that is available to do and not do in beautiful resorts and such. Being here in MA I know of people that go year after year to Maine or the Cape. I'm kind of lost to appreciate what you can do at these places. I mean there is only so much shopping, sitting on the beach and site seeing. Not to say these kind of vacations don't have value, but you Disney fans know.

I have a friend that says the world is a big place why limit yourself to WDW. I say "Why not?" No matter what resort you stay at, there is something to appreciate and besides you can visit the others too.
I'm not trying to convince any of you. I can see by signatures you agree. I'm rather obsessed with the idea of when I can get back down there.

Ok so now that I feel like I started to get a down tone, here you go........

2....4....6....8.....who do we appreciate! Betty Betty yay!!!!:cheer2::cheer2:

Looking forward to her email today. I've pretty much cancelled live are just keep refreshing my screens to see if a new email comes in or a new post on this thread. :lmao:

What will I ever do when this link is gone?
I'll have no choice but to schedule a vacation so I have a link to follow.

I'm thinking thy on the 31st you can still enter, plus they carry over all non-winning entries because it states that you can only enter once per day except the grand prize which includes a carry over of non winning entries

I'm not a lawyer, I just used to work for them before I became CEO of stay at home mommy. Lol

We must have met at a convention somewhere.

LOL!!!

I can relate to what you said about vacationing in WDW. I get asked "disney world again?" I have 2 young girls. The places I would like to vacation at, they would not appreciate. My love of going to Disney is seeing their faces. They love it and it makes me happy. We are trying to plan a disney cruise for December 2015 out of Galveston so we don't have to drive to Florida. Also going to Aulani in 2016. I hope they are old enough to appreciate Hawaii by then.

So here is a question I have been pondering.

When I win :thumbsup2 even though the prize is for 4 would they let more stay in the suite??? I read that Cinderella's suite can sleep up to 6 people. There is just the 4 of us - DH and two young boys- but this is a once in a lifetime moment so I wonder if I can have my sister go on vacation the same time as us and have her two daughters stay with us in the suite for the night. The next morning we could have early breakfast reservations at Crystal Palace or CRT and meet back up with my sister there. That just sounds so wonderful.

Just day dreaming really. I just can't imaging not having them join us if Disney would let them.

Oh- and I think we would stay at Yacht or Beach Club. My husband just loves it there and that pool! I feel like I'm supposed to want to stay at a monorail resort but I really love the Epcot Resort area- so relaxing and being walking distance to so many things is just wonderful. Breakfast at Cape May is the best.

We've stayed at BLT twice. Both experiences there with busing was awful! We shared with WL too. Once, we got on at CR, went to WL (sat forever there), then to Poly and then to GF. Got to AK almost an hour later and we had already waited 20 mins for the bus to begin with. We were late for a YES program class we were doing so I had to call and let them know what was going on. The busing is my biggest issue with staying at BLT/CR.

We were just at the Poly in Dec and it was much better. We only had to stop at GF after we got on so guessing the bus had already picked up at CR (and maybe WL).

That sounds so fun!! I can't imagine why they wouldn't allow it. Most (all??) of the deluxe resorts even sleep 5 to a room so your sister could stay in those rooms as well.

I actually share this dilemma as although my two sons are grown and could care less, my husbands God daughter is that perfect age to want to stay in the castle but my guess is her two brothers would be heart broken if they could not come up there too.

Our next vacation was suppose to be with this couple and 3 kids. Separate rooms but same week. However they recently said they could not afford this year as originally planned. We'll worry about it when the winning emails and phone calls start. Even if we do win, it will be months of planning sooooo. But it's hard not to day dream about it.

Just worked with my son to clear off the deck. I'm so proud of him. He was very thorough. He worked why harder than I wanted to but with way less heart pounding out of breath effort. I really need to get back to Disney. It's my best exercise week of the year. :cheer2:

I wonder if they allow you to have visitors to the Castle suite? We like to do trips with my family of 4 and my sister's family of 4.

WHEN I win, it would be fun to at least get them access.

I can't say what deluxe I would choose! The castle does cover the MK end of the trip. The Epcot resorts are crazy convenient. We loved Boardwalk DVC. Maybe Beach Club....would love to try out that pool. Although, it would be a great chance to get into GF.

What nice problems to have!
