It's Back-January Trip-A-Day Contest!

Oh the bus is not "alone". It's a really nice bus, they play a DVD about Disney resort stays, the driver is really nice, and there are lots of families doing this too. When you get in the area of the airport that has the magic express it's full of smiles and fun. I have taken with people and solo, it's one of my favorite parts of going to Disney.

Again this is why I stay on property. No car rental/driving

Really? Why did I get a quote from the Disney website for Beach Club if it is DVC? I could not get a quote for Yacht club as it said no rooms for the dates I plugged in. But yet Beach Club would give me rates for the dates???? I'm confused.

Part of Beach Club is DVC. That is why I brought it up. Do they exclude all DVC resorts? For example, BLT is excluded because it's DVC but cash paying guests can stay there. Boardwalk has two parts. One is the Villas (DVC) and the other is the Inn. I'm not sure how Beach Club works. I only offered Yacht Club in case Beach Club was excluded in case she wanted to sty in that area. Beach Club is also supposed to be going through a refurb soon.

errrrr. I have been telling my Dad's wife to look into Beach club for end of April because they are looking to head down. When I look at the website I could only find them potential room at Beach club. I did suggest a Disney travel agent might be able to guide them better and save them $$.
I hope it works out for them. I know Villa's was DVD. I told her to be aware of that and look at the Inn. They don't want a full kitchen anyway.
But I would love to stay at a palace with a whirlpool club.
Then again it's not my vacation. :-)

Thanks

I haven't stayed at Beach Club because BLT is my home resort and by the time the 7 months rolls around to book Beach Club, it is normally booked solid. My DH and I went in sept. with paying cash and using the 25% annual pass discount and sated at Yacht which shares everything with Beach Club.

I can't believe the jealousy in this post.
As far as finances and being concerned. You say it is just the taxes and fact that you don't like she is eating at ONE nice restaurant. But she mentioned needing to get clearance to take unpaid days. That costs money. I have all of my vacation days scheduled for the entire year by January. If I take extra time off I risk losing $10k in benefits because I won't be considered full time. So please look beyond your nose (the one that you think is more worthy of winning because you have kids - ps I have twice as many kids as you. Does that make me twice as worthy?) and admit you are jealous. She is just voicing her concerns. She has expressed NUMEROUS times that she is excited. Should she apologize that she stopped jumping up and down long enough to post her experiences with winning?
Get over it. It is done and over with. I'm not getting back into it with someone who was not involved. So mind your own business and get out of mine.

But I am not jealous. However, I will be enjoying my stay at WDW in 28 days at a deluxe villa.

anyone else having trouble with the perfect fit and share your adventure sweepstakes? I normally don't enter this late... can't even get logged in! :(

I haven't had any issues with Perfect Fit until today but it wasn't really a big deal. When I tried to login this morning it said their account retrieval or whatever was down but I tried a few minutes later and logged in and entered fine. Keep trying! :)

I got my first error message today. I hadn't been having any trouble with it before today. You know how it is with Disney Contest sites. They have errors often. I just remembered I couldn't log in yesterday too. Then today I got the error message. On logging in I waited about 5 or 10 minutes and tried again and it worked again. Worth a try. :badpc:

My aunt's 1099 from the 2014 contest was $5500. She chose GF and we went in early/mid Dec. If Disney uses rack rate, for that time period, it was about $750 per night.

Also, get this...my aunt is on the FB group of winners from last year. She said a lady, who won last year, posted yesterday that her dh had won for this year!! If that is true, that is crazy...!

This would be me!!! It is absolutely completely true and 100% shocking to us too. I won under my name last year, but we chose Disneyland since we didn't think we would spend money out of pocket for that trip. We're glad we did that, because we never have to wonder if we should try it instead. We know Disney World is our home away from home.
We're a family of 3 so we took my mom thinking it would be a great time for her to make memories w/our dd. That is how it should've been, but that is not my mother. It was a hard trip, an emotional trip, my mother caused a lot of drama and never sent us a thank-you card or apologized for a panic attack she brought on during our 1st day at the parks. She got "bored in the animators studio so took off out of the bldg on her mobility cart without telling us and then didn't answer her cell phone when we tried to reach her. Well, I was scared to death as my mom normally uses a walker, falls easily, has diabetes, high blood pressure, +++ lots more stuff that could go wrong. On top of that it was 95 degrees outside and we had come from Fargo, ND the day before where it was in the 30's. All I could picture was that she had either fallen or passed out and couldn't get to her phone. It felt like forever, but was literally at least 20 minutes before she comes zipping back in the scooter and didn't understand why I was so upset w/my heart racing, difficulty breathing and uncontrollably crying!! That set the tone for the trip, unfortunately. The saddest part is that, instead of it bringing her closer to her 11 yr old grand daughter, it made my dd wish she had a different Nana...so sad, it brings me to tears now. You can only make excuses for your dysfunctional relatives for so long, but eventually your kids will figure it out on their own! We do have some good memories w/some old friends who were able to drive down from San Jose, CA, to meet us, but we didn't come home refreshed and relaxed.
Anyhow, on to this trip. Dh surprised us last night w/the initial paperwork. He won for an entry on Jan. 20th and e-mail just came on Wed. afternoon so there may be up to 10 more winners, so don't give up hope. We had already been planning a trip back to WDW in early May w/the spring discount at CSR and will most likely just try to add these 4 nights to it. We are inviting a friend of mine who is living w/us right now. She has low income, no health insurance and would never be able to afford a trip like this. We are inviting her for the full time we'll be at WDW and only asking that she cover her food and souvenirs. We will cover the extra park days, and all hotel expenses so hopefully we will be able to share the blessing of winning again w/someone who deserves it and will appreciate it. Thanks for all the positive comments from people who don't even know who we are, but I totally understand the little nag of jealousy too!!:) Hope there are 10 more winners all from the DisBoards here!!

what amazing luck that you guys get to do a redo!

I'm so excited for you, pokanos, and all of the winners! I hope your good deed of inviting someone along works out better for you this time.

I would love to read trip reports as well.

CONGRATS to you and your "do over" vacation!
You guys got really lucky because I'm thinking your DH's name was drawn after the original pick didn't respond. :wizard:

I am thinking the Flip Side picks are done, unless anyone gets lucky for a redraw as it appears that is the case of pokanos.
SO GOOD LUCK to everyone moving on to new sweepstakes! Hopefully we see more winners on Dis!!! :goodvibes

Wow-Pokanos! How very fortunate! I hope this trip is much better than your last one!

Any advice for the rest of us? Do you enter in the middle of the night or have a lucky rabbit's foot or something? (If you do I want to borrow it-LOL!)

Thanks everyone!!! It's. Great group of people here on the dis boards. I don't know how or why we won either year. I must say last yr I was diligent about entering just about everyday and kept saying we're gonna win, why not us?? This year I might have gotten 10 days entered w/the problem glitches and my heart wasn't as in it as we had just won. Probably wouldn't have entered at all except for the stay in the Cinderella suite. I think my friend will have a great time, but we won't have to take care of her so she can tag along w/us or not. All we ask is for a couple hours kid sitting on our Cinderella night!;)

Are you from Fargo?! That would be super awesome to meet another Fargoan! Congrats on winning! Hopefully there will be two of us from up here going down there!!
Actually lakes area in MN, but close enough. We're on our way there as I type for a doctor's appt. Joy joy, reality still calls!! And no I'm not driving!:) Thanks for the congratulations!

Okay question: for the photo submission contests (I know of two at the moment) I was looking through the gallery and noticing a few were obviously Photopass photos. I have some great photos taken by Disney Park staff, but it is my understanding only photos of your creation qualify. What is the consensus on this?
