So hard to get this fountain with nobody sitting around it.



I was great to drive over and see those wonderful decorations once more. I am pretty sure that good memories of my stays there helped me enjoy the surroundings.

And back to the room by 10:30pm.

Right?!?!?!? Teenagers I tell you, they will come up with some great ways to avoid doing what they are supposed to do. If they would just put forth that much energy to doing what they should..

Heck, it would be great if some adults would put that much energy into doing what they should!

The timing would be right for us to have seen that but I remember a theater with bleachers all around the the show in the middle? Might have been that OTHER park.

There was something like that at the "other park"! We went there too and there was a whole Nick area, with shows and attractions (it is now all closed off and I think the Blue Man Group is taking up some of that area now).
My daughter Paige also went down a few years later with her Dad and Step Mom and was on one of those game shows. Well she watched it and then they talked to her during a break time and it made it on TV and of course we were excited and recorded it when it was aired.....of course I have no clue where that VHS ever went.

I did not get to say a proper goodbye in December, but I will visit next month and get pictures of the new lobby in progress as well as the bungalows out at the beach.

I enjoyed the Coronado pictures. You know how fond I am of resort hopping.

And yes, it was 18 bags.

Thank you again, it made a HUGE difference in our trip!

It certainly does help to be able to get to the store. I am grateful that Marc and Anita let us hitch a ride with them to get milk, bread, and produce whenever they have a car.

Pat, I LOVED seeing the pictures of the Coronado. You know I have a deep fondness for that resort and despite our difficult stay there with the Pop Warner people in 2013, it was nice to stay there with those beautiful Christmas decorations.

I am so glad I am not the only one with that memory.

I also have a memory of the Hunchback show and I read some article about it and where it was. I always want to put that show in Universal but my Disney mind reminds that is impossible.

Okay - deal Poly beach is NOT the place to go.

I had not been to the Coronado since 2009 and loved the decorations during the holidays.

They are very unique to the resort. I really felt the need to go back and see them. Not a bad consolation instead of waiting for the NYEE fireworks.

I know you will be snapping away later this month. Be prepared the Poly is sad looking right about now. I do look forward to seeing it finished and I have to visit during the transition so I can appreciate it but it does make me sad.

I like the speed of flying but I am getting spoiled by driving and having the car.

The beach seems so small now. I hope eventually it seems better. It won't ever be the same but I have hope that it can be better than it is now.

Ahhhh A Trader Sams seems like it might take some of the sting away. The Coronado is a very nice and peaceful resort.... unless it is Pop Warner time.

Seemed like an unusual place to go but I had an itch to go see it and while I wasn't up for sitting on the beach any longer, taking a little detour to see them again seemed right at that moment.

I am finally up to Dec 31 2013. Today being one of the busiest days subject to park capacity closing I opted for



The TREE!!!!!


At the entrance to the parking lot the CM handed me something all about FP+. I was like okay, I know how it works and all no problem.

What she neglected to say was that the regular FP were GONE!!!!
So here I was assuming I could do what I had been doing – pre-book the 3 online and then use regular FP for the rest of the day. Well what is great is that I booked FP+ for the evening park figuring that was wise.
I DO NOT DO WELL WITH CHANGE! Well let’s see how this will work out.

Somehow after the tree the next shot is here..



I am guessing the coffee I had was to blame. That is the bathroom by Pizzafari perhaps? Or the ground near there?




The first stop was the safari assuming a FP could be obtained and then go over to EE.

I had to really work to find that one.

I cruise up the FP machine where the CM stops me and that’s when I find out they have stopped issuing them in AK. During the busiest time. Really?!?!?!? Now you have just 3 FP+ and if you are off site you can stand in a really long line and book what may be left. Great Job Disney.

People are streaming into the safari and the wait time says 10 min. Not buying it. Figure it may actually stabilize after the initial crush. So now what?

Go walk the trails and check in on Lily and the other gorillas.
First Up the okapi, the side shot. Front and Back...




Ah ha there she is


She was acting a fool with that blanket. Typical young child.
Here she is being a ghost.





Now add in climbing blind.




She eventually ran off so it was time to check out the bachelors.





Well that was exciting… Oh look Lily came back.



Now it is the spinning game. She got the blanket on her head and then just spun around in a circle.





She eventually got tired and just staggered away.

Back to the bachelors and their snack time.





Love the way he is carrying his snack.


And then he goes off for private time.




The safari line seemed just as long and I was miffed at the whole FP situation. Well let’s try EE.
The line at the FP machines that were now for FP+ were HUGE. Standby line seemed long as did the single riders line. I was clearly thrown off.

Cynthia updated a while ago on her day and while we did not cross paths this day, she had MUCH better luck in touring than I did.

Could I find a groove? Will I get anything in or just be frustrated?

I do love the pics of Lily...they are so fun to watch when they are young...not a care in the world. And the bachelors are like who cares...just leave me alone.
