Woo Hoo! I'm so glad to be on the DIS boards - finally a place to obsess over our trip without annoying anyone in the process ;) I'm probably getting a little kooky about the whole trip but I"m just so stinkin excited!!:banana::banana:

I'm Becca - mama of 2 girls: Fin (5) & Marin (2) and married to Wayne (the reluctant Mouseketeer).

We did WDW as a family 4 years ago just 2 weeks shy of Fin's 2nd birthday. My hubby only stayed for 1/2 the trip and flew back home for work...he only ended up joining us last minute b/c he had a conference in Orlando magically coincide with our trip ;) He is not as Disney nuts as I am! He's a tech geek, though - so he's pretty stoked to use all the new aps for navigating the world. I have fond memories of going to Dis when I was little and we'd visit my grandparents in Florida. Which may explain my affinity for vintage/retro Dis t-shirts, etc...

We'll be traveling to WDW December 4-9th and staying at Wilderness Lodge Villas thanks to my generous brother and his family who are hooking us up thru DVC - :yay: thanks, big brother!! My daughters completely adore his daughter - so, spending a week with Maddie is almost as sweet as meeting the mouse.

So, its gonna be a huge crew of us in the villas - my family of 4, my bro's family of 4, my parents and my other niece & nephew (4), my SIL's parents (who are divorced yet sharing a villa!), and my SIL's adult sister

We'll be flying. Thank goodness. It was a lot of $ for us to plunk down (I'm a SAHM & DH is gainfully employed - but we live on a budget for sure!) Spending 1/2 our vacay in a car would just ruin the fun for us with such little kiddos. We have direct flights out of Buffalo and plan on taking advantage of Disney's Magical Express :woohoo: VERY grateful!!

We'll fly in by noon on Sunday. I'm hoping to check into the resort and take it all in - maybe take a swim & head to DTD for dinner at T-Rex and a little shopping.

Monday morning we have ADR at Cinderella's Castle for just the girls :wizard: My girls both have December birthdays - so this is in honor of their 3rd & 6th birthdays!! Fin will be in her Cinderella garb and Marin has a Snow White frock to rock.

Which brings me to the outfits - I have always made handmade clothing for my kiddos - but when I started poking around the web I discovered the absolutely amazing DIS-inspired artistry that some of my fellow seamstresses/designers are making!! WOW! I was in awe!! So, I too, have been stitching some OOAK gear for my little peanuts to wear at WDW!! It is SO fun!! (Plus, it keeps me from buying to much stuff on "the Bay" or the Disney Store - I suddenly can't resist the notion of dressing my kids in head to toe red & white polka dots - its the strangest compulsion!) Although, my girls have a lot of issues with comfort - so no tulle or headbands!!
(pics to come)

We plan to hang at MK all day (resting in the afternoon?) and into the evening as there are slated EMH until late-night. Cannot wait for fireworks and seeing the castle lit up!!! I can almost taste the Dole Whip and feel the wind in my hair from SM!! Wheeeee!!!

Fin is just barely 40" with shoes on - I really hope she can ride those 40 inch rides! Little mama has been eating her veggies and trying very hard to grow, grow, grow!! I'm a shortie and it seems my girls got luck b/c they are both very petite and very short for their age.

as a mother of all teens....i understand the need for dis board for an outlet (they love to go, just dont love to plan). sounds like you will be having a great time!

Thanks, Lauri! My daughter even told my husband that she thinks mama is more excited than she is!! (She's right!....but she's gonna *love* it!!)

Tuesday brings Animal Kingdom!! can't wait to go on safari with my lamb chops :) KALI is such a great ride - woo hoo! The Lion King show is our final destination before we close the park and head for Boma with all 15 of us! My SIL's dad turns 70!! YAY!!

I made the girls matching DisSafari outfits of course. wonder if Fin will be afraid of Dinosaur? I have a feeling that my youngest would be less scared - she's the brave one! Sorry, shortie! The older kiddos LOVE EE so I hope I can ride at least once with my niece or nephew.

Wednesday we're hoping to do DHS. I really want Fin to battle Darth Vader in the Jedi Training Academy!!! (We actually went to a Halloween party tonight and she was one adorable Queen Amidala!!) Do we bee line to ST first thing in the morning and register? Not entirely sure how that works.... The girls are looking forward to the DisJr show and BatB and VotLM...hoping we can get the grown-ups on TofT and RaRC at some point. I've never been on the new Toy Story ride. Is it worth the crazy wait? It looks adorable!
not sure if we'll do an ADR this day or not....hoping to see the Osborne lights and & Fantasmic that night <3

Thursday is for Epcot. Gonna ride all we can in the AM (and see TTwC) and meander thru WS all afternoon. Still no ADR either. It would be nice to do one more big meal with the whole crew, but I don't know if that will be possible. Pleasing everyone's palette (and wallet) with that many people is tough. We may try for the Moroccan restaurant. My dad has fond memories of the belly dancers.... hope the kiddos make it for Illuminations!

we don't fly out until Friday night at 6:30 or so, so I'm hoping to revisit one park on Friday to soak up our last bit of Disney magic before hopping the Express for the airport. I think we'll let the girls decide. At this point I'm leaning towards getting just 5 day passes with no hopper option as I don't think hopping will work with little kids so well. Still not sure...

Planning on treating the kids every morning with surprises from *Tink*! I bought a bevy of pins on the bay as well as lots of little things like tattoos, stickers, t-shirts, hats, cups, etc... Older kiddos get ear buds, Disney dollars, etc... I'm really excited about this as I've never done it before!!!! ***********

Our greatest challenge when traveling with my dear generous brother is the "keeping up with the Joneses" syndrome. He is incredibly generous and his vacation time is a time to splurge, etc.... Our just being there is a huge splurge and we have to live on a budget. We can't afford to buy anything and everything we want or eat 100+ dollar meals at every single sitting..... So, graciously bowing out of certain things is hard to do. We're already grateful for his sharing the villas with us, I don't want him picking up anything else. We like to take care of ourselves. Some past occasions have left my husband and I feeling odd with him picking up checks, etc...

It's all good, though!!! I mean what a problem to have, really! Sheeesh..... In 47 days I'll be in WDW!! yippie!!!

Making progress on the outfits :) Girls are gonna look SO cute!!

Wondering if we can do just carry-on for our luggage...Think I'll do 2 rolling duffels and each of us will get a backpack for the plane. Just too much crap I wanna take!!

Fin is hedging on the Jedi Training - she is a SW nut - but is afraid to battle DV!!

Really hoping we have good weather - we went 4 years a go the same week and it was sublime! Last year was COLD. I was really hoping to feel some Florida sunshine on my shoulders...

Only 38 days!!
