It's ALL About the Food (We go to WDW to eat and drink!!) ~ October 2009 TR

Thanks, Carolyn. myBob will eat the steak (which I understand is really good) but I will be eating seafood and these three items are at the top of my list. Unless there is something exciting and new on the menu that evening!

That steak IMO is the best on WDW property.:thumbsup2

Flying Fish ... Cheese - check, wine flights - check, crabcakes - check. myBob's steak - check!

Thanks, Friendies!

Cheese and wine and fish-how can you go wrong?-You'll have to write a review of your meal (I'm thinking that it might be a good place to celebrate DD 16th B-Day next year-in October -I guess we'd miss Food & Wine-so I'll have to live vicariously through your trip...:goodvibes

I love crab cakes....mmmm.

mmmmmmmmmmm.... me too!

Patricia - I will write a review just for you. I think it would be the perfect place to celebrate too.

I spent quite a while tonight trying to decide about a Park 'n' Fly for the night before we fly. We are located about 90 minutes south of BWI airport, but in order to get there we have to drive the I-95 corridor through Northern VA and the DC-Baltimore environs. Not a good drive on a weekday morning.

The hotels in the Baltimore airport vicinity are up to about $180 a night for their "free parking" offers, but other hotels without the parking can be booked for about $100-125. That being said, we will have to pay $8-10 daily to park at the airport. So, I think it is pretty much even financially.

It all seems like a simple thing to figure out, but it takes forever for the shuttles to come pick you up at the airport to take you to your car at the hotel. Our flight gets in a 8:30 p.m. and we thought we could just jump in the car when there is no traffic and be home before 11:00. We do love the convenience of not having to find a parking spot the morning of our flights, but maybe the time factor on our return will outweigh that convenience...

What to do, what to do????

Elin, I'm afraid that I can offer you no assistance with this decision, as I myself have spent the last 2 weeks debating over where to stay in Miami the night before our cruise!:lmao: Everytime I think I have made a decision, I change my mind!

I hear you loud and clear, Heather. We over-think everything, don't we?!?!? :rotfl2:

Well, I think I'm going to have to make a final decision pretty soon....or else my husband is going to divorce me. I think he's beginning to dread the words "So, I've been thinking.....":rotfl2:

myBob looked at me when I said that tonight, rolled his eyes and said: "Oh, gawd!" :rotfl:

Decision has been made!

I found a Comfort Inn & Suites at BWI with a Park 'n' Fly rate of $109 + taxes ($122) so I boked it. I don't think I will find a hotel that I would stay in for $50 in that area and that is the difference between the PnF and paying for parking outright.

One more thing out of the way!

Glad that's settled :thumbsup2

We decided to do a Towncar rental for this trip. We used :sunny:ray Transportation last Christmas for our daughters and they were wonderful so I am booking with them for this trip. They include a grocery stop so I don't have to ship anything down either.

ETA: The DIS apparently does not like the name of this Towncar company. it **** it out! so I have used my own shorthand which may or may not fly. We will see!

we love using the towncar service ... no fuss, no muss, no screaming kids ... no waiting for hours to see your luggage. Never had any problems until last year when they forgot to pick up at SSR the day we were supposed to leave. Got it all straightened out though in the end (they reimbursed us for cabfare ... long story).

I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's usually very relaxing and hassle-free. :thumbsup2

off to the baseball game now. have a good evening! :goodvibes

Glad you figured out the park n fly, Elin. We always did it flying out of Charlotte to OR mainly because there is no way I would park my car anywhere at that airport and leave it. Now, here at home or Asheville, yeah I would leave my car and not worry. It was always so nice to know that it was safe and sound at the Wingate Inn! We should just quit telling our hubbies when "we have been thinking"! :rotfl:

Hope you had fun at the game!

We have used towncar services quite a bit, but not for a long time until last December. Bob always insists on renting a car but I just cannot justify spending over $300 when we are really not going very far afield from BCV this trip. This was my compromise. :rotfl2:

Instead we will come to our TRs and brainstorm and then present them with the done-deal. Or wait... isn't that what we basically do anyway? I know I hardly ever listen to Bob when making up my mind.

That sounds like a great deal! Logan parking is $24/day for the garage and $18 for the long term lot.

I have really enjoyed using them on my last two trips. So worth the $$$. I was using ME which was OK but I had to wait over an hour for a bus last May.

Sounds like a great choice...:thumbsup2 (I've seen some of that DC area traffic-DH worked out of DC office for over a year and when I'd take the kids down the traffic was...:sad2:...I didn't think anything could give NY traffic a run for the money-but I was wrong...:confused3

better to have your car safely parked and be ready to fly out...:goodvibes
