It's ALL about the FOOD! An October 2012 PTR! - Trip Report Started.

Monday is our Epcot day, too... maybe we'll run into each other! If you see a girl on a Segway trying not to run over any innocent bystanders... that'll probably be me!

Tonga Toast looks amazing but I am not a banana fan! Unless it's a dancing banana.

Sounds like a good plan for touring the F&W booths.

I've never been to Via Napoli. We have an ADR there this trip. I was at Le Cellier a few years ago. It wasn't bad but I think it's way overrated. No way should it be a 2 TS! Plus the filet mignon and cheddar cheese soup are part of the Canada F&W cart so if I were you, I'd stick with Via!

I love your photos of Liberty Tree Tavern. We ate there and had the pot roast as well. And the fried cheese looks so yummy!

All your food details are making me hungry! :goodvibes

Well you know its a trip about the food right?!? :rotfl2: Sorry. They make me hungry too! Since I am trying so hard to loose weight before the trip I am not eating very much good stuff right now!

Hard decision but at least you have two great options in VN and Le Cellier! As for breakfast at kona, I guess it will be a surprise to see what you will be in the mood for. :)

Yeah... its hard deciding where to eat on a regular day let alone months out lol! I'm kinda leaning away from Le Cellier just cause of the CC guarantee and the Pizza at VN looks SO good!

Your pictures from LTT look SO good! I can't wait to go there!!

I'm always torn between the Tonga Toast and the Macadamia Nut Pancakes too. Decisions, decisions...

I'm glad I'm not the only one torn between those items! I can't see hubby ordering either one so I can't try and convince him to get one and share!

LOL! I don't think we will be in WS while you are on the Segway!

Those items being at the F&W booth were actually influencing my decision as well. Only thing is they won't be served with the pretzel bread for the soup or risotto for the steak... I'm also curious how much they will charge for the filet... I'm thinking $7.50 like the lobster roll!

So I decided just to quote my original post for our plans for this day as the changes mainly involve the meals and the in between is the same!

I've changed the 50's Prime Time lunch to Hollywood Brown Derby! I'm nervous about the change as I REALLY wanted the 50's Fried Chicken again but something new is always a good option!!

Also Flying Fish reservations are at 8pm so sadly we will be skipping Fantasmic this time. I just don't want to have too late of a night in the park which would lead to a really late dinner and then a late night to bed... I don't want to wear us out!

Day 5, October 16

This is the dedicated Hollywood Studios day!

We will either grab a quick bite to eat at the resort or starring rolls or both!

The time at DHS will begin with the TSM mad dash! I'll mad dash for the FP line and hubby will wait by the standby.

From there we will head to Rock n Roller coaster. I'd like to also do Tower of Terror at least once but hubby refused last time so not sure if that will happen or not!

Lunch will be at 50's Prime Time!

I'm craving the fried chicken!
Sorry... I forgot to take the picture before I started eating...

Rest of the day will be spent on other DHS activities, hoping to not miss the Animation Academy (or whatever it may be called at DHS?!?)

We will end the day at DHS with Fantasmic!

After Fantasmic we will be going to dinner at Flying Fish. I am thinking 8:30-8:45 reservation. Since we will be finishing dinner late we will either have to take a bus to DtD and then transfer or take a Taxi. We will see how we feel that night!

Flying Fish will be a new restaurant for us! I see plenty of entrees my hubby can have but not any apps unfortunately so I am hoping he doesn't hate me for this reservation!

And me! :thumbsup2

I don't think you'll regret your decision at all...the Brown Derby is fantastic!

I'm also excited to try Kona Cafe :woohoo:

I am all about 50s PTC fried chicken. You can have it vicariously through me!

I actually have an ADR at 50's for one of my days but I'm not sure I will keep it... I'll explain why when I get there!!

And me! :thumbsup2

I just want to try so many places! Can't I go to WDW for a month?!? Maybe then I could do all the TS meals?

Well we are up to Day 6 revisited!

This day is also VERY much like I originally posted except for a few minor things. I will BOLD them out in the quote below!

Day 6, Wednesday October 17

Today is Animal Kingdom Day!

Hoping to get a before opening ADR at Tusker House! Acheived! ADR for 8:05am!!

He "says" he hates Disney but does this look like he hates Disney?!?!?

We will then go Ride the Safari!

After the Safari we will head to Expidition Everest! WE NEVER rode this in May 2009! I was so dissapointed! We were tired and hot and cranky so we left AK early. This was the only park were it was my feet giving me issues! Plus my cold was really wearing me out so we just decided it was better to leave. So therefor I am NOT leaving AK till we ride at least once!

Also hoping to catch the Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo! We saw the HUGE lines in '09 so didn't go! I think hubby will really enjoy these so will make the time!
For lunch I am planning on Yak n Yeti! I'm thinking a little bit later ADR... Something like 1:30pm. Booked for 2pm! Hopefully this gives us time to have breakfast settle! We had lunch ADR's here in '09 but we skipped them because we weren't hungry at the time of the ADR and hubby didn't want Asian food. Since he is now living in Colorado and different ethnic foods are not as readily available as they are in CA I am hoping he will be okay with it!

After lunch we will head to the resort for a quick rest and change of clothes. We have another partial AK day the following week so whatever we miss we will do then!

Since AK will be a short day I have a few extra things planned!

La Nouba!! Planning the 6pm show so I think we will need to be there around 5:30pm. NOPE! Not this night!! I nixed La Nouba here to hopefully have no so long and tiring a day!

After La Nouba we will hop a bus to the Contemporary where I am planning dinner at California Grill! Wishes Fireworks are at 9pm so I am planning an 8:45pm ADR! Booked a 7:50pm ADR! Sounds good for catching WISHES!!!

So what do you think? To much planned?!?!

So like I said not too many changes!!

Let me include some FOOD porn pics from our first time at California Grill!

Complimentary Sparkling Wine and a message from my hubby!

A chicken dish... I think! Was good... It was hubby's... I dunno what it really was now lol!!

I do know this is the wonderful pork dish with polenta!! YUMM!!!

US!!

This should be a FUN, hopefully not to tiring day... a break in between lunch and dinner at the hotel should help!!

Joining!!! It took me a while to catch up but I think I managed alright. HAHA. Your plans sound so fun! I must say, though, that I'm really jealous that you'll be there on my birthday (October 21)... at least I think you will! :goodvibes

Welcome!!!

I would offer you the couch in the villa we have that week but not sure hubby would go for that since it's our first time seeing each other in 2 months and will be 6 weeks after that till we see each other again...

Day 7 is an off day from the parks... Kinda. Sorta. Not Really! It is in that we will not be using one of the days off of my hubbys PH. Instead we are going for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party! I have NOT bought tickets. Planning to get them when I pick up my AP after seeing what the weather is supposed to be like.

Back to the beginning of the day though... We shall sleep till we wake up with no alarm clock and nothing dictating when we need to be out of the room! Depending on what time it is that we wake up will dictate what and where we shall eat. If its early enough we will likely head to DtD as I would like to try WPE. The other option would be to head to Kona or Grand Floridian Cafe for breakfast/lunch. If it is later that we are getting going we will likely just grab something quick at the resort as I want to head to MK to be there around 4pm.

We will not be doing costumes for MNSSHP. I have thought long and hard on it and I just really want to enjoy the evening and while costumes are cool I am just not creative enough to think of ones we could do! So instead I am planning to get us some Disney T-shirts. I will make hubby wear one for one day lol!

Once we are there around 4 we will just wonder around. I would like to check the gift shops to see if any of the party merchandise is out yet. Last year at the DL party I forgot to purchase the items I wanted so would prefer to do it early at WDW!

At 5pm we have an ADR for the Plaza! This is a new restaurant for us and I am looking forward to it! After dinner we will just kind of wander around till the party starts. Maybe ride a few rides if the wait is low.

The Agenda for the party is. Hallowishes, Boo to you Parade. Possibly some Character M&G's and a little Trick O' Treating! I don't want to do too much T&T or we will have to either eat it or find room in our luggage for it and well I am splurging for 2 weeks while at WDW. I don't plan to splurge afterwards as well!!

Sorry no pics!! It's all new to us this day!!

I love MNSSHP! It's so much fun. Make sure you see the parade! You'll have that song stuck in your head for days. We're planning on going to the party our first day there so we can snack on the candy the rest of the week. We're not wearing costumes either. I have a tshirt with a Mickey head covered in cobwebs to wear to the party. I need to find Kris a Halloween themed shirt!

Ahhh MNSSHP sounds like so much fun! I've always wanted to go. I bet yall will love it! And I've heard good things about the Plaza.

There are some cute halloween themed shirts on disneystore.com right now. I really should order them before they sell out!

I LOVE the fireworks at the DL halloween party so i can't wait to see these ones! And i've heard the Parade is awesome so I can't wait! We will have a week after the party left at WDW so I am sure we will have some of the candy! I brought home about 20lbs of candy from the DL parties (I did 2 during my trip!) We used it for treats during our Open Houses! And then gave the rest to our realtor when we moved! LOL.

I've always wanted to go since I first heard about it! I've been to the DL parties in 2010 and 2011 and can't wait to experience it at WDW!!

The 8th day of this trip will for the most part be pretty laid back except for one major thing! We move resorts!! We will have to pack up from Coronado Springs and head over to Villas at Wilderness Lodge. The WL has always been a favorite of mine and I wanted to book it for the last trip but it was too expensive... This trip I was lucky in that I was able to book the Villas part through my timeshare exchange company! Its all very confusing but just know that I will be there at the VWL for a week!!

Once we check into VWL I will either be doing laundry once our bags arrive or we will just head to DtD where I predict we will have another meal at Raglan Road. Or at least a salad there! :rotfl2: The rest of the day is whatever we feel like doing... No real plans till later in the day where I will be making reservations for the 8:30pm Hood de doo Musical Review!! I'm hoping we can catch the boat there and the boat back to the VWL!! I was originally planning HDDR on the 14th but figured it would work better to do it a day that we are staying close by!!

Some pics from our first visit to the HDDR!!

Late but sounds like a fantastic trip!

Welcome to Colorado. :)

I love HDDR! I was only there once and was pulled up to can can dance.

I backtracked to read about your AK day. I really want to go to Yak & Yeti. I was there when it first opened and I'm dying to go back. Maybe we can squeeze in a lunch ADR...

Ahhhh Wilderness Lodge! That will be amazing!!!!

Hoop Dee Doo looks like so much fun! I definitely want to do that someday!

Hi there Paula! It certainly looks like you and your DH had a blast at HDDR!!! What fun!

Your day 7 plans sound lovely... rest and relaxation and go at your own pace. Next trip I am building in every 3rd or 4th day to not have any set plans! :)

BTW: I saw a preview of the Halloween show with the castle and fireworks the other day at MK. It was about 1am and I was getting ready to call it a night and I was on the balcony at BLT and had my video camera on the castle looking at the pretty lights. They started the Halloween light show and even had some fireworks with it - really, really cool stuff!!!! I won't share the video since I don't want to spoil it for anyone but it would be nice to compare what I have to what you see! :thumbsup2

Happy Saturday!

Welcome to my PTR!!! I've been planning a long time to make the trip extra special so I really hope it turns out as I wish!!

Thanks for the Welcome to CO! I wish I could be there all the time!

HDDR is so much fun! I was so MAD when they kept saying it was going to be closed in the fall. I think Hubby would have revolted on me if we couldn't go!

There are always so many places we want to eat! and not enough time or stomach room!!

I think both will be great!

Welcome back from WDW Brenda! I can't wait to read your DR... will you be changing my mind on any of my ADR's?!?! :rotfl2:

Yes that will be interesting to see how it compares. I guess even though I'm over a month away the MNSSHP parties start soon!

the way my schedule goes it is one park day, one day off, 4 heavy duty park days, MNSSHP day, rest day, 5 whatever we want to do park days and then 1.5 days off before leaving. I'm hoping I've built in enough rest!
