It's ALL about the FOOD! An October 2012 PTR! - Trip Report Started.

Just read a lot of your plans - it's great that you're really taking full advantage of the Food & Wine Festival. All of those events sound incredible. As for the V&A Chef's Table, I bet that's going to be a jaw-dropping experience. Even the regular dining room sounds wonderful enough, so I hope the chef's table blows both of you away! :goodvibes

My hubby only agreed to the trip because it was the F&W festival so I really wanted to make sure we do take advantage. Originally I was planning on a lot more events but have it narrowed down to just 3 I will try and get and then a few of the smaller deminars and mixology seminars. We will see on Tuesday how it all rolls out!

I think V&A chef table will be an ideal way to cap off our trip!

Tomorrow!! 4am for me!!! Is the time to call to try and book the F&W festival events!

I am still not sure if I want to try for any of the smaller deminars or wait till I am there to see if anything is left available so I can get the AP discount. Yes the AP discount is only $2 but its $2! LOL!

I'm planning to do a little more research on some of them and if they fit into our schedule I may book a couple. I'm kinda leery of the ones that just say Savory as they could turn into being seafood with my hubby can't have.

Any opinions on the seminars??

Good morning!! It's so very early for me!!

I had my alarm set for 3:30 am, hit snooze once. Got up, visited the restroom, booted up my laptop and was all ready to call by 4am. Alarm went off again at 3:59 am just to make sure I was ready. Called 407-wdw-fest. Not open yet. Called back exactly when my phone flipped to 4:00am. Got into the system. Was told 30 minute wait! URGH! Only ended up waiting about 10-12 minutes! Booked my 3 events, paid with my Disney Gift Cards! Got my confirmation Numbers, completed the survey and was hitting dissconnect at 4:30am!

I'm so happy! And so tired!! Back to bed!!

I will start updating my daily plans soon as there have been quite a few changes!!

Glad you were able to book all the events you wanted! Now I hope you're taking a much-deserved nap! :thumbsup2

Since there have been a lot of changes I am going to go over my daily plans again!! If you have any suggestions feel free to speak up!!

Day 1: Friday October 12.

Arrive to CSR sometime after midnight. Fall into a deep sleep. Wake up (hopefully!). I will not be setting an alarm. Traveling can be stressful and so I don't want to start the trip off in a rush. When we do wake up we will get ready and depending on the time grab a quick bite somewhere. If its early I would like to head to WPE or EoS at DtD. If its already kind of late we will head to Epcot for a 3:05pm ADR at Biergarten.

After a late lunch I am hoping to catch the 5:30 show for Eat to the Beat Concert starring Smash Mouth!! I was upset when originally planning that we would miss them but now we have a chance to see them again!

Unfortunately this puts us quite some distance from the World Showplace where we will have to head next for the 3D Dessert Discovery Party. Which I was able to obtain Sweet Seats tickets for!!

After the Dessert Discovery Party will decide if we need some more protein or if we are good for awhile! If we need something we will catch a snack or some F&W booth items!

Part of the 3D party is supposed to be a special viewing area for Illuminations. Which I am hoping to see and enjoy! After that we will head back to the resort and hopefully enjoy the hot tub!

How does this compare to the original plans?! :surfweb: Well I wasn't sure when I wrote them when we would be arriving at WDW so they were kind of up in the air. Tentatively we were going to attend the Swolphin F&W Classic. However the 3D Party is not held on the 19th :confused3 so I chose to attend that on the 12th instead of the Classic. This day was also supposed to be a non-park day but as you can see we will now have to be using 1 of my hubbys 10 park days. If for some reason I wake up SUPER early. I will head to MK just to take a walk down Main Street. I am upset :headache: MK is not our first park but I guess I will survive!

Glad you were able to book all the events you wanted! Now I hope you're taking a much-deserved nap! :thumbsup2

I was able to sleep about 2 more hours before I had to get up to be ready to go for a hike with a friend! It was a good hike! Then I went to the grocery store so I can get back on track with what I am eating!!

Day 1 sounds wonderful, though I'm jealous you got those sweet seats!! UGH! I had so many issues with the phone lines, was on the phone at 6:59 and didn't get through to someone until after 9AM :( and they were sold out of sweet seats! SO MAD!

I'm glad you were able to get all the events you wanted!

Yum. Biergarten. We're going there this trip too.

mmm! Biergarten! We didn't go there this last trip, but I really missed it! I wil definitely be taking my nieces and nephews to it in October 2013!

I started laughing when I saw you were attending Smash Mouth! I just read a PTR where she was going to see Sugar Ray. It's like all the bands from H.S. and my first few years of college are playing this year, LOL!

I'm here! I have LOTS of catching up to do but totally did not realize you were doing a PTR for a trip that you'll be going on SO SOON! :goodvibes Just wanted to let you know that I'm planning on catching up here soon and can't wait to hear about all your plans!

Glad to hear you got the stuff you wanted :thumbsup2

I always thought the food/theme of the Biergarten looked good, but I really don't think I'd be able to eat to that music

Yay for booking the events you wanted!!! Can't wait to hear more about them!!!

I was very excited that I did not have any phone issues that morning and was able to get exactly what I was trying for!

I'm sorry you had issues! I think they should do a staggered booking instead of EVERYTHING at the same time!

I'm glad you were able to get all the events you wanted!

Yum. Biergarten. We're going there this trip too.

Thanks! I was happy!! I've thought about changing to something else that first night but I think Biergarten should be fine! Initially I thought just the booths but then figured being a friday evening the booths would probably be pretty busy!

Yeah. Smash mouth is actually from the Bay Area in CA and so my hubby has seen them a few times. I think it will still be fun!!

:welcome: Less than 2 months to go! So excited!!

Glad to hear you got the stuff you wanted :thumbsup2

HaHa. The entertainment is part of the reason I booked it again. Love it!!

Well as my title says... these plans are just being revisited and they are not revised!

We will have an early lunch at Raglan Road
Dinner will be the Food & Wine Classic at the Swolphin!

Only difference between these and what I originally planned is it will be the only night we attend the Classic since the Dessert Party is not offered on the 19th and so moved to Day 1!

Sunday, October 14th

The day will begin with an early trip to Magic Kingdom!!

We have an 8:05 am reservation to Crystal Palace!

Blurry photo! Hoping for a better one this trip!

A happy looking hubby!!

Following a filling character filled breakfast we will head out of the restaurant in time for Rope drop into Fantasyland. Yes this is a repeat of our first trip but its the best bet to ride those rides with little wait!! From Fantasyland we will tour other areas of the park... not planned out yet and somehow end up at Liberty Tree Tavern for a 1:40pm Lunch ADR. Again the exact same order as our 1st trip to MK in '09!!

And I will probably order the exact same things!

Fried Cheese (we only got one variety last time due to my hubby's seafood allergy so it wouldn't be much difference if that is the only kind you get now!)
ry%3D400

Pot Roast
ry%3D400

And Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake!!
ry%3D400

Depending on how hungry we are I may convince hubby to just share with me or he can order whatever he wants!

Last time he surprised me and got the Turkey Dinner!

More time will be spent after lunch touring Magic Kingdom. Hopefully taking in just some of the atmosphere and admiring the details I tend to blow right by!

The park closes at 7pm so when we feel tired, worn, out or just done for the day we will head out to CSR to get refreshed. (Or if we are at MK till close we may or may not get refreshed in time for dinner lol!)

Dinner tonight (different than the original plans!) is at Citrico's at 8pm.

This was one of our favorite meals in 2009. So much so we went TWICE!
The menu appears to have changed quite a bit from the last time and I've heard that Chef Eddie is no longer there so we will see what this trip brings!

I'm actually kinda leery of the menu that is posted right now. It seems to be pretty small (meaning not a lot of options). Hopefully it will update one more time before we go in October with some more options for us! Otherwise we can have a little something there and then move onto another restaurant if we desire!

Again the night will probably end with a trip to the hot tub at CSR to soak our weary feet. Hopefully we will have a drink in hand from somewhere!

Monday, October 15th.

This was originally going to be our first Epcot day but of course we have the 3D dessert party there on Friday but it will still be our first FULL Epcot day.

The morning begins with a 7:30am ADR at Kona's. I'm determined to make it to breakfast there this trip!! I'm TORN between Tonga Toast and the Macadamia Nut Pancakes!! :scratchin

From Kona we will walk to the TTC and hitch a monorail to Epcot. I'm hoping to arrive close to Rope Drop. It's of course then a dash to Soarin for FP. I will most likely be the one to trek inside to get them and then depending on the return time we will see what we want to do next. We will try and do things in a semi-orderly fashion as I really don't want to overdo the walking. Epcot is so big if you start criss-crossing your feet pay the price!!

We will hang out in Future world till we feel hungry again at which point we will heard to the World Showcase for our lunch of snacking around the F&W booths! So excited for this. I'm hoping we will enjoy from one booth. Explore the country a bit, move onto the next booth, explore the country... etc... I'm hoping by doing it this way we not only save our feet but also our tummies from gorging out too much!!

Dinner this day will be one of two places. Via Nappoli or Le Cellier... Yup... I still CANNOT DECIDE!!!! :confused3 I have an ADR for Via Nappoli at 7pm or Le Cellier at 8:25...

I love your photos of Liberty Tree Tavern. We ate there and had the pot roast as well. And the fried cheese looks so yummy!

All your food details are making me hungry! :goodvibes

Hard decision but at least you have two great options in VN and Le Cellier! As for breakfast at kona, I guess it will be a surprise to see what you will be in the mood for. :)

Your pictures from LTT look SO good! I can't wait to go there!!

I'm always torn between the Tonga Toast and the Macadamia Nut Pancakes too. Decisions, decisions...
