It's a Year of Celebration; Nerds invade WDW, a PTR -- Updated To Buy/To Pack 5.13.09

So, San Angel Inn is going to be closed while we're there, so I'm either getting an ADR for Akershus or 1900 Park Fare.

Ah, the trip is so close!

YAY!

Hannah and I have already booked another WDW trip for August 17-22 on the free dining!

I'm thinking of surprising her and upgrading to DxDP. I'll have to ponder on this.

We've booked Akershus for their dinner since San Angel Inn will be closed.

I feel really silly updating this. I think I only have one follower! If anyone reads this, follow! I'm soooo not boring, I promise!

We Memphians got some bad news today. The U of M basketball coach left us for KU. :sad1: Everyone's ticked and we're all in a tizzy because we don't know what's fixing to happen to our BBall program and which players will stay and leave (we have a projected #14 pick player on our team for the NBA).

SO SAD!

Ah, well... I'll read more Disney to cheer myself up!

Congrats on the new trip :thumbsup2

My family just came back from WDW last August and we paid for the Dining plan. It was ALOT of food. It wasn't the deluxe dining plan, just the regular dining plan. On the last day we found ourselves trying to use all of our snack vouchers. We ate so much we didn't need snacks. We typically used our snack vouchers for a muffin or bagel for breakfast.

So basically we ate Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner every day. Don't get me wrong it was nice, but it was also alot of food. I also didn't enjoy that the rushing that I felt about going to out addys. We booked all of our addys @ 180 days (90 days this year). We picked a lot of character meals, and special places that I knew my family would enjoy. The food was great, but when you are looking at your watch thinking. Well we have to get headed over there for our ressie; it kind of takes away from the relaxed setting.

So for all those reasons, my wife and I decided to go on a Disney cruise next year. It's going to be a cruise just for us. Now I just have to pick a date...

I am sure that you will enjoy your present and new vacation, just try out the regular dining plan before you go to the deluxe.

:goodvibes

I am your loyal follower. Though I make more comments on FB. :lmao:

:rotfl: Good to have you follow me on here, at FB stalk me on there. It's okay, I FB stalk you back!

Whoa... I can't believe you booked another trip! So jealous!!! hehe

Lol. I'm surprised I got Hannah to go back. That'll make 3 trips for her, because she's playing piano for a friends wedding at the Wedding Pavilion, too. I'm jealous of her!

I am sure that you will enjoy your present and new vacation, just try out the regular dining plan before you go to the deluxe.

:goodvibes

We're doing the regular Dining Plan in June, so I'll see how it goes, then. She loves to eat, so we'll see if we can fill her up on the regular. Haha! Thanks for the advice! Are you going to do a TR for the cruise?

I am sure that once we start looking into booking the cruise, I will be doing a trip report. I enjoyed my last one that I did, and I am sure that it helps others as well in decisions.

I just bought this. :) Yay! Now I won't have a fanny pack... which would cause my oh-so-cool friends to not want to walk with me. *rolls eyes*

I'm just reading thru your PTR and want to thank you for posting the link for the lanyard. It's so much better than the one's with the plastic holder on the end. I'm gonna get the black one with Tink on it, great place to keep the tickets handy. I sent you a reply to your than you message regarding the TA issue, but in case you didn't read it, glad it all worked out.

BTW, great PTR!

That's awesome you booked a free dining trip, too! You'll be leaving the day before we get there. I tried to convince DH to do free dining, but he really hates Disney food. Yeah...he's strange! :rolleyes1 I'm going to have to experience free dining vicariously through you.

Sorry for no updates! There's not much to post as everything is paid off, booked, and waiting for us down in FL. Now, for it to only be June!

Sadly, I'm having to cancel my August trip. We just found out one of my puppies needs surgery ( $2,000 :scared1: ) so I need to put my extra money towards that. Although I love Disney, I love my dog more...

Hopefully, we can get the surgery done next month, before all of the visitors come for my brother's HS graduation, and can recover enough before the two 5 year olds and one 2 year old come and attack. He'll probably go hide in my room the whole time.

I'm not canceling it, yet, though. Just in case, by some stroke of luck I am able to go. I'm holding onto my free dining date until Hannah and I decide it's okay to let it go. If we can't go to WDW, we might go to Washington, DC for 5 nights with 2 other friends, making the trip total $200. (Everything in DC is free!)

But, I'm more concerned with my doggie than I am with a second vacation. Even if I don't go on a second one, as long as Mac comes out all better, I'll be happy.

Well, I'm not sure what else to write about! I'll post more frequently. Maybe start a packing list, shopping list, etc.

Have a magical day!

I am getting online to harass you for not "posting more frequently." As you put it. ;)

 Oops!

So, since I'm being reprimanded because I'm not posting more frequently, as I put it, here I am! I'm at T-28 days until my trip to WDW. According to my TA, I should be receiving my travel packet thing a couple of weeks before we leave. (2-3 weeks) I'm so excited! So, I should start putting together a packing list.

I've officially canceled the August trip. She'll have it taken care of Friday, as my TA is actually at Disney right now. It's so sad to not be able to go, but we've come up with a cheap alternative. Washington, DC. My cousin lives super close to the public transportation stuff, so hopefully he and his family will let us stay in their finished basement for free. The museum's are generally free. So, food & gas is all we need! If we can manage, we might try to take a train up to NYC for a day trip to see some sights. I'm with AAA, so I get a discount on Amtrak. Now I just have to convince myself trains aren't scary...

Last week I got my servers permit. (Aka, I can serve boozeahol to people... aka bartend) It's a 5 hours class you take, and then you take a 50 question test about the laws and such. (I made a 100... so you know it's easy!)

I've finished finals. I'm done with school for the semester. So, yay!

And my brother graduates high school a week from Tuesday. Which means 12 people in my house (including 2 almost 5-year-olds and 1 2-year-old) Geeze! My room is a complete wreck, so I have to clean that so other people can sleep in my bed, while I fight with my mom and brother so I can have the couch, and not sleep in the floor.

Oh, and check this out:

Awesome posters from SWW. :)

Some good news, I'm going to eventually have enough money for my dog's surgery. I'll be doing a slight payment plan: pay 1/2 up front, and the other half over 3 months after that. It's not a lot of help to have that payment plan, but it's still help. Sadly, I'll be gone almost the whole month of June (I'm working a music camp the 2 weeks following my WDW trip) so he'll be without his "mommy". My mom, aunt, and brother will still be around some... so I'm going to work it out where I can leave for a bit every other day to go see him for an hour, and help out with his care (meds, let him out, etc.)

And one more piece of good news, before I head off, is that I have a new laptop! My DBF (Tony) has a Rewards Zone Card from Best Buy, and won some random drawing (he didn't know he was in) and won 2 free laptops of his choice. He got a Gateway FX (gamer laptop) and he surprised me with a Sony Vaio. It's so pretty and white and new! And now I don't want to kill my computer everytime I get on the internet, or turn it on, because it doesn't take 10 years to do it. :thumbsup2 Boy, am I lucky!

Well, that's all for now. Just a quicky update. Now I'm going to go make a packing list. :wizard:

Also, if you're peeking around, feel free to join in! I feel as though I've lost all of my followers (well, except my one loyal follower!).:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Sounds like a great plan! I'm trying to space my planning out now because I'm almost done and with over 3 months left I don't want to be bored lol. I'm over obsessing about the planning though, trying to make sure we stick to a schedule so we can do everything I plan on doing. I made a spreadsheet so I can hopefully have something to keep up with.

Can't wait to see your TR!

I so know what you mean by getting bored! I think that's how I lost all of my followers (except my one loyal one!), by having nothing to write about! Luckily, things are gonna start picking up soon!

Hi there!

So, I'm only stopping in for a quick question (I'm still making up my packing list & to buy list)! I need some shoes. Shoes that can get wet and won't be squishy, and that aren't flip flops; being a band nerd, I roll my feet my I walk (I also skip to get in step with other people and the music without realizing it... DON'T JUDGE ME!!) and I hate the sound flip flops make when they smack up against my heel. It's so annoying. I looked through all of the crocs I could find on their website, and I have it narrowed down to 3 different styles. Help me pick the one that the least ugly (I think most crocs are super ugly). Here they are:

http://shop.crocs.com/pc-1443-4-juneau.aspx?navcategories=3,4

http://shop.crocs.com/pc-825-4-malindi.aspx?navcategories=3,4

Which one?

Don't tell anyone, but I do the same thing.. Studder Step...lol I was in marching band as well. :lmao:

I like the Olivia ones. They look more "Cool"

Hm...decisions, decisions. I guess it depends on what you are looking for. I would probably go with the Malindi, but then again, it seems like, because it has the holes in the top, it might get more water in it than the Olivia. But I'm sure they all dry pretty fast.

Would the Olivia ones show weird toe cleavage, you think? :rotfl:
