It's a Year of Celebration; Nerds invade WDW, a PTR -- Updated To Buy/To Pack 5.13.09

Kadye - you and I must have the same caffeine habits! Have you used your Wii fit yet? I got one for Christmas and am loving it! So much fun!

I do have a few other restaurants that I can suggest! Always, I am such a foodie. I have a list of restaurants I want to go to that would necessitate me needing to spend 2 weeks at Disney. And I still wouldn't hit them all!

I loved Liberty Tree Tavern at MK when we ate there. They aren't doing characters anymore though. Coral Reef is really good too, and the big tank is such a cool thing to look at. Nine Dragons is another one that I thought was soooo good. If you are looking for just a little break, Boulangerie Patisserie in France has yummy pastries, but I am not sure that I didn't like the little crepe station even better.
I eaten at Restaurantosaurus at AK, and had a muffin from the Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery - can't complain about either one.
Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge was very, very fun - I think my family enjoyed it more than almost anything else. :) We like to eat. It takes me a very long time to plan all of my ADRs. I like to try everything! :upsidedow

:rotfl: 3 jobs, full time student, and basketball games... caffeine is the only way I function during the day!

I love my wii fit. It's so much fun! And a total workout for a couch potato like me. Haha.

Whispering Canyon! I forgot all about that place! Thanks for the reminder!!! I'll be sure to ask for ketchup... :)

We'll be sampling drinks and food from around the world in EPCOT. I'm so excited about this!

And Liberty Tree Tavern sounds like a yummy place for lunch. MMMM... getting soooo hungry just thinking about it!!

So, I woke up today feeling... less than blah... so I skipped classes. :ssst: Really though, I was sick. I think I have a sinus infection. I did go to work though... (gotta pay for my trip!) since I'm just "babysitting" the building (making sure no one dies between the time I go in and the time I close the building) I don't have much to do. So, since everything tastes like nothing... I'm eating Halls and drinking water and reading a ton of PTRs, TRs, and Dining Reports. :) And, luckily I have no classes on Fridays (I opted to take a MW Fencing class in lieu of some stupid MWF class that would help me graduate. :rotfl: )

So far, I've got a little bit of a plan:

June 3rd (Arrival Day):
Breakfast - on the road & oop (since we're leaving Memphis at 5:00 am :scared1: !)
Lunch - on the road & oop
Dinner - Beaches & Cream around 8 pm - oop (I'm hoping since it's a Wednesday, it won't be super crowded. *crosses fingers*)

June 4th (MK day):
B - Crystal Palace around 8:15 - 8:30 am (TS1)
L - ?
D - ?

June 5th (MGM day... yes, MGM... not DHS... M...G...M... oh, and it's SWW!)
B - Pop Food Court - oop, (because not everyone eat breakfast, and I'm already forcing 2 breakfasts on them)
L - Toy Story Pizza Planet (CS1)
D - 50s Prime Time or Sci-Fi (TS2) HELP ME CHOOSE!

June 6th (Epcot Day)
B - Pop - oop
L - ?
D - ?

June 7th ( Um... Day)
B - Pop - oop
L - ?
D for Boys - ESPN Club - oop
D for Girls - ?? - oop

June 8th (AK Day)
B - Tusker House - early ADR - (TS3)
L - ?
D for DBF & Me - Rose & Crown - 8 pm
D for Rod/Hannah/Kaytea - ?

June 9th (Everything else Day)
B - Pop - oop
L - ?
D - HDDR (TS4&5) early show

June 10th (Leave)
B - Pop - oop
L - early Lunch at DTD - oop
D - on the road - oop

Help me fill in the blanks! I'd like to fit in Liberty Tree Tavern in for lunch one day... maybe the 9th for an early lunch?

Heyyy! Just getting caught up! Your plan looks good!

I've never eaten at 50s Prime Time, but I have eaten at Sci-Fi...although it was a long time ago. I remember having a good milkshake, and a burger. To me, Sci-Fi is more about the atmosphere than the food, and we had a good time. Kelly is really wanting to go to 50s, so I believe that we are going to try and get an ADR for 50s. The food looks pretty good there...

Ha ha, this really wasn't any help for you to decide, was it?!

:)

Glad to see that I am not the only one who is a OCD planner. I don't have as much time as I did last year, but if you want to see my last PTR..

Here ya go..

Then here is my trip report...

I just finished reading your TR. Thanks for taking time to share it. Looks you really had a great time and all your pics are awesome. Also great PTR Kadye, looking forward in hearing from you after your trip.

Have a nice and safe trip everyone. :)

Thanks,

Don't know if I will do one this time, since technically it was easier to plan. Of course as it gets closer I am sure that I will start something just out of excitement.

Hey there! Music nerds of the world, unite! I am enjoying your PTR immensely. Keep up the good work :thumbsup2

I remember eating at the 50s Prime Time place back in '04 and LOVED the food there. We did not have a real "mom" type waitress, but it was still tons of fun. It's hard to go wrong with that place, I think.

Ha ha, this really wasn't any help for you to decide, was it?!

:)

Haha! Maybe I'll make one for all of us and the other could be for our girls night out. :)

Also great PTR Kadye, looking forward in hearing from you after your trip.

:) Too bad it's so far away! Ah, the better to plan mah dear. :lmao:

Awww :flower3: :) What kind of music nerd are you? Haha.

Well, guys, sorry for the delay! It's that time of semester where all the first tests are happening. I've started going to the campus rec center to use their equipment. (I watched Golden Girls for an hour on the treadmill! Each one has their own t.v. :) )

I'll get back on my Disney Planning (probably today while I'm stuck in wardrobe for the show). :) Stay tuned!

I'm such a bad DISer for not updating my PTR. Truthfully, I've been having a lot of personal issues and needed some me time before obsessively planning the trip again.

I'm putting together a binder full of every piece of information I'll need that I'll keep with me the entire time (for my sake, and everyone elses, haha) and I'll make note cards of the important information (ADRs, etc.) to keep on my person.

I got an iPhone... and the first thing I did was download the park maps, so I'm really excited to get to use those!

So far, I think I only have day one down to a T. It mentions everything from times, to restroom breaks, to who gets picked up first... it's all there. I'm so excited! It's getting close (which also means midterms and finals are coming up... NOOOO!). Tonight I'll put up my finalized "Day 1" and maybe get some more up there. I'll so start taking pictures of my stuff to get ready for my TR/Food report! (I can't wait to do it. I love reading other peoples!)

So, I'm off to go get on that and be slightly productive.

I hope you guys haven't left me!

I am still here! Hope everything is ok!

It is. :) I just needed to breathe for a moment. Haha! I think you may be the only one still following me. That's fine, though. :)

I actually started a website for those going on the trip, to help answer all of their questions, which is why for the hiatus again. I will be updating soon, though! It's almost ADR time!!!! :goodvibes

It just dawned on me...

I don't think they know I'll be snapping up pictures of all of their food...

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao:

And they think I'm crazy now.

Oh, you started a website to keep everyone updated? That's a good idea. If it was more than just me and Kelly that's something I would consider doing. Yup. Maybe we will for our next trip. We are talking about doing a couples trip in a few years. Heh. Anyway, can't wait to hear all about your ADRs! :cutie:

I'm coming to you, my wonderful DIS friends, for help.

I keep sitting down to try to at least map out the week... and I keep getting frustrated and leaving it (which might be why I haven't updated in a while). So far, the only 2 days kind of set in stone are the day we arrive... and the day we leave. I just can't figure it out! So here's what I have... and I'd love some help playing fill in the blanks. We have the Park Hoppers to take advantage of EMHs and to mix it up. There's one main park for that day and depending on how the day goes or what we're in the mood to do.

Places we're eating:
Beaches and cream - dinner - paying oop
Crystal Palace - breakfast - paying oop
Whispering Canyon Cafe - dinner - 1 TS (1)
Toy Story Pizza Planet - lunch - 1 CS (1)
50s Prime Time Cafe - dinner - 1TS (2)
Le Cellier - dinner - 1 TS (3)
Donald's Tusker House - breakfast - paying oop
Kadye/Tony - Rose and Crown - dinner - 1 TS (4)
Rod/Hannah/Kaytea - San Angel Inn - 1 TS (4)
Hoop Dee Doo Review - dinner - 2 TS (7)

Here's kind of what I have so far...

June 3 B - on the road - oop
W L - on the road - oop
On the road D - Beaches & Cream - oop

June 4 B - Crystal Palace - 8:00-8:45 am ADR - oop
Th L - ?
MK D - Whispering Canyon Cafe - 8ish ADR - 1 TS

June 5 B - Pop Food Court - oop
F L - Pizza Planet - 1 CS
MGM D - 50s Prime Time Cafe - 7ish ADR - 1 TS

June 6 B - Pop Food Court - oop
Sa L - ?
EPCOT D - ? (A CS meal)

June 7 B - Pop Food Court - oop
Su L - K/H/K - ?
R/T - ?
? D - Le Cellier - 7ish ADR - 1 TS

June 8 B - Tusker House - 8:00-8:45 ADR - oop
M L - ?
? D - K/T - Rose & Crown - 8:00 ADR - 1 TS
R/H/K - San Angel Inn - 8ish ADR - 1 TS

June 9 B - Pop Food Court - oop
Tu L - ?
? D - HDDR - 2 TS

June 10 B - Pop Food Court - oop
W L - ?
DTD D - On the Road - oop

So, basically... I need all of the "?s" filled in. The Lunches should be on the Dining Plan and a CS. The one dinner on Saturday should be on the cheaper side as it will be oop. On Sunday the girls and guys are splitting up for part of the day, including lunch. Monday is date night for Tony and myself.

Any ideas, guys?

WE'RE ALMOST 3 MONTHS AWAY!

AHH!

So, I think that might mean it's time for a WDW Trip Countdown Calendar...

I'm giving up Facebook for Lent because my friend Hannah's making me. So, I'm trying to do more arts and crafts things. (Scrapbooking, etc.) So this will be this weeks arts and crafts project!

Time to hit up the craft store!

Ok I 1) could never give up Facebook, partly because it is a part of my job, and partly because it's the only way I talk to some people. :(

And I have some CS suggestions for you, since it looks like you were looking to fill in some of your ?s!

1) Pinocchio Village Haus in MK, it overlooks IASW and it is pretty fun. Just general CS food, ya know.
2) Yorkshire County Fish Shoppe in Epcot (in the UK) - I ate here for the first time back in September. The only warning I would give is that it is more like a good cart that you go order at, there aren't places to sit down inside, although there are some nice covered tables just to the right of it.
3) Lotus Blossom Cafe in Epcot - never eaten here, but the food sounds good (allears.net has the menus!)
4) Cosmic Ray's in MK has good food, and a wide selection
5) Sunshine Seasons (Epcot, right by Soarin') - this place by far has the best selection of any CS I've been to save for some of the CSs in World Showcase. Roast chicken, rice bowls...yummy! And strawberry shortcake!!

MMMM! Reading all these menus on allears.net is making me so hungry! I hear good things about all of those places, especially Pinocchio Village Haus. I will definitely be filling in some of my ?s with these places. :)

I'm gonna break on the Facebook think. Facebook and DIS is basically all I do when I sit at work! (I guess I could be studying... :teacher:, but facebook is so much more fun!)

Ha ha. I am so bad about Facebook and Dis at work too. At least I can write the facebooking off as "social networking" for clients. The Dis...not so much. :)

You should facebook me, if you want! Just PM me and I will let you know how to find me :)

I did. :)

You can never have too many friends!

Okay, so kind of. I'm getting in the Disney spirit (like I'm never not... ) and I'm now working on a countdown calendar of sorts.

Some of the supplies

Countdown1.jpg

Starting on it...

Countdown2.jpg

The bare bones.

There will be more flare added, of course, as I work on it. I started it at work last night. I'll be adding more tonight, as well as more detailed layouts of the trip. And MORE PICTURES! Yes, I will be adding lots of pictures. 1) I like pictures, 2) DIS likes pictures... so maybe I'll pick up some more readers along the way. If not, I still have my dear friend jewels1916.

Right now I'm reading TRs and Dining Reports... is it June, yet?! Oh wait, I can just look at my handy calendar! Alas, 96 days until I try my first Dole Whip!!!

Oh goodness... It's so far away!
