It's a Stroller Sir, not a Battering Ram!!! NEW PTR LINK POSTED

Love your dad's reason for moving to Canada. I try to remind myself of how much I enjoy all the seasons when it's really cold here too. It doesn't get -45 cold though, stay warm!!

I'm sorry to hear that the weather forced you inside, but oh boy are those pics great. I love that you and Shan enjoy the other guests so much and are so conscientious of them. That little boy meeting the Incredibles is priceless. Thanks for documenting it. :goodvibes

I love Saucers!!! Did you pop into
Michael Rodents as well? It's just next door
To Saucers!
Have a great day!

Debbie

Nice! Shan has reading week the week of the 18th which is also President's Week in the states so we won't be going anywhere! Prices are ridiculous during that time so she's just going to work and save her pennies for Disney!

It is always early here which is nice. We can avoid most of the other breaks if we want to travel over the break.

Just started reading this TR. I am really enjoying it. Back to it in a bit.

Tigger

Good Saturday morning everyone! We have had a week of extreme cold but apparently it's supposed to warm up by Wednesday!

Oh? Was it cold? Hadn't noticed. Oh sure I mentioned something or other to Ruby, but we had to bring the words inside and let them thaw out before she could understand me.

But other than that, nope. Hadn't noticed.

I heard it was supposed to warm up in July.

Could be wrong.

Yesterday the young lady that I drive with called me at 630am to tell me her car wouldn't start even though it was plugged in! I know all my Canadian readers will get this

I am curious to know if any of your readers thought, "Plugged in? Electric car, right?"

When we lived in Churchill our car had three plugs. One for the block heater, one for the in-car heater and one for the battery blanket. In a pinch you could do without the in-car... but not without the battery blanket.

but I think unless you've experiences -45 degrees it's hard to imagine just how cold that feels! You skin will freeze in under 10 under minutes so a hat, scarf, mitts, ski pants and a good jacket are all a must! Shanleigh splurged last year on a Canada Goose jacket and I thought she was nuts but man she was the smart one! She often reminds me of how toasty she is when we're out!

When we first moved north (Lynn Lake) I bought a Snow Goose jacket. Best purchase I ever made. I remember walking to a friend's house when the windchill was about -60 and I was wearing just a short sleeve T-shirt and my parka. I was sweating from being too hot!

Great coat.

have you ever asked your parents why they choose Canada to immigrate to

That's a nice sentiment about your Dad. I always thought it was because people came in spring and thought, "Oh, this is nice weather. We can grow crops here."
Then summer rolls around and they thought, "Wow! This is really nice! We'll have amazing crops."
Then as fall approaches they think, "Well, this isn't too bad at all. Nice weather for harvesting and planting the next round. Nice and cool, perfect."
Then after winter they thought, "Holy Carp! There's no way in Heck that that will ever happen again!!!"

We're born of optimists, I tell ya.

Someone (not me) had to use the ladies room so I thought I would take a pic to capture the moment:rotfl2:

Well when you gotta go take pictures, ya gotta go.

At our first destination and as you can see it doesn't look bad right? Wrong! As soon as you rounded the corner the line was right there!

But you did it twice? Did you fastpass once?

683.jpg

I couldn't help but take this picture! She cracks me up! Silly girl of mine! I didn't put my hands up this time because I wasn't sure the little guys behind us would ever ride this again so I thought if they wanted to buy the picture they could at least see them! 100% sure, they are never riding again! Hysterics were well in order the entire ride!

I don't know what's funnier. Funnier? Sure, it's a word. Funny, funnier, funniest, funnilicious.

Anyway, I don't know what's funnier, Shan's mock terror or the boy in blue hiding his eyes in front of you or the two kids on the far right front row holding on for dear life to their mother.

685.jpg

My girl being silly! She cracks me up sometimes!

Isn't it nice to know that you'll have a photo of her to display when she gets married?

This little guy was a few families behind us and Shanleigh thought he was the cutest thing ever so we missed the class so we could see him with his heros!

Awww... I bet that was the highlight of his trip.

We finally made our way over to the class and today we drew Goofy!

Well of course. There's always time to draw serious, but when you're at Disney, by all means draw goofy.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

You two too! Thanks for update! :goodvibes

Shanleigh's pictures crack me up!! :)

And you have a very smart daughter who invested in a nice warm jacket. I have a pretty warm jacket but its still pretty darn cold walking down Michigan Ave to work with a windchill of -15...although your temps are much worse!! I hope you are staying as warm as can be!

Ok, count me in on needing to meet up with you and Kathy for a lovely slushy alcoholic drink in Epcot...probably my favorite drink on property!

Oh my gosh, that is COLD!!! I'm shivering when it's 45 degrees, nevermind slapping a - in front of that! :lmao: That's such a nice sentiment about Canada, and one we definitely don't get to really experience in Louisiana. Two weeks ago, the weatherman was talking about the Spring weather coming. I was thinking, HELLO?! It's only January!!! :rotfl:

But anyway, cute update. I love the animation building, and it's definitely a really great place to escape the rain in DHS. That little guy with the Incredibles is absolutely precious. :goodvibes

Girl, you just made me ridiculously proud to be Canadian. :thumbsup2 Love the explanation from your father. It is really something to see the seasons change. In fact I've seen two seasons just today! This morning it was +5 and raining, now it's -5 and snowing. :rotfl2: We don't get the extreme cold here in the maritimes, the ocean keeps us a lot warmer.
Glad you found some good indoor activities! Love the little kid with Mr. Incredible, so cute!

Oh, yes--TS Beryl. It brought a little rain, didn't it? ;)

I'm going to ask a stupid question-but I am a southerner who complains when the high is 35 degrees. What is "plugging in the car?" I'm assuming it has something to do with keeping the battery charged in the extreme cold?

Trying to catch up (I've been working on my TR so I can get it done so I can start the PTR for he girls trip with Mary and Cayley and Avery in June).

I just have to say that I LOVE that little "Incredible"...he is too precious for words and I can understand why Jas and you missed the class to see him with greet and get pictures.

How sweet what your dad said (although I have to admit, I could settle for just two seasons...summer and summer :lmao:).

Hi :wave2:

So glad to see you back and posting...I definitley understand the need to take a break (haven't updated my own TR since early December :sad2:).

Those desserts at Via Napoli look amazing, happy to hear you enjoyed it there again as that is where we are having dinner the night before the Princess half...not sure I'll be indulging in those rich desserts but very much looking forward to some yummy pizza :thumbsup2

From the looks of the picture you had a whole elevator full of terrified kids on TOT!

The Little Incredible was so cute, would have been so fun to see his excitement!

I agree! I was so excited last week that it was light when I was driving home! Here in the winter we go to work in the dark and come home in the dark, the sun rises at about 830am and sets at 430pm but in the summer ahhhhhhh, it rises just after 5am and doesn't set until 10pm...love it!!

He was just the cutest little thing and so excited! He was having a very hard time waiting for his turn!

I love Saucers!!! Did you pop into
Michael Rodents as well? It's just next door

Debbie

One of our favourites! We were tossed between that and Pizzeria Gusto but Saucers won out! We didn't go in, but the time we were done, it was closed!

It is always early here which is nice. We can avoid most of the other breaks if we want to travel over the break.

That's great...we would be travelling with everyone else:rotfl2:

Just started reading this TR. I am really enjoying it. Back to it in a bit.

Welcome aboard!! Glad you're enjoying it!

Oh? Was it cold? Hadn't noticed. Oh sure I mentioned something or other to Ruby, but we had to bring the words inside and let them thaw out before she could understand me.

But other than that, nope. Hadn't noticed.

Just a little chilly, nothing we couldn't handle right?

I heard it was supposed to warm up in July.

Could be wrong.

July works, May would be better, but July works!

I am curious to know if any of your readers thought, "Plugged in? Electric car, right?"

6 PM's to be exact because they were too embarrassed to ask on here! Completely understand and yes they all thought electric car, but nope!!

When we lived in Churchill our car had three plugs. One for the block heater, one for the in-car heater and one for the battery blanket. In a pinch you could do without the in-car... but not without the battery blanket.

I remember the block heater always and when we were kids, I remember my dad had the in-car heater too!

When we first moved north (Lynn Lake) I bought a Snow Goose jacket. Best purchase I ever made. I remember walking to a friend's house when the windchill was about -60 and I was wearing just a short sleeve T-shirt and my parka. I was sweating from being too hot!

Great coat.

My dad picked her up one day from school when it was in the -40's and they went out for lunch and when she took her jacket off he got mad at her cause she had a blouse on underneath and she said even with this grandpa I was hot!

That's a nice sentiment about your Dad. I always thought it was because people came in spring and thought, "Oh, this is nice weather. We can grow crops here."

I agree...spring summer falll....all amazing beautiful and I guess winter is too but not when the settlers first came over! I can't even imagine how they survived it!

Well when you gotta go take pictures, ya gotta go.

:thumbsup2

But you did it twice? Did you fastpass once?

Nope, by the time we came back around the line was completely gone, I think they opened the other side!

I think all are hilarious! It's funny when you can actually take time to look at the picture and see everyone's reactions!

Isn't it nice to know that you'll have a photo of her to display when she gets married?

Oh yes, it's been added to the list! But I hope that is many many years away!

Awww... I bet that was the highlight of his trip.

;)

Well of course. There's always time to draw serious, but when you're at Disney, by all means draw goofy.

Is there any other way?

You two too! Thanks for update! :goodvibes

Thanks!

Shanleigh's pictures crack me up!! :)

She's a card, isn't she?

-15F is pretty darn cold too and you are know for your wind as we are! Portage and Main here in Winnipeg is the windiest spot in Canada....not fun in the middle of January!

Oh my goodness....that just put a smile on my face! How much fun would that be!

Ok that made me laugh!

My goal when I retire is to spend a few months in the south each year...here's hoping!

We love it too and we really try and make time for it when we can! My sisters girls love it too so when we're all together we need to make a point of stopping there too!

Awww, I'm so happy! We are pretty darn lucky aren't we! That happens here too....I thought it was a Manitoba thing! LOL

TS Beryl....she was a bit of a pain wasn't she! LOL

No question is stupid and I'm so happy that you asked! We have what are called block heaters so we plug our cars in and the block heater keeps the engine/oil warm so the car will start! It's one of the reason's I swear by buying a car that's built in Canada/USA, they are made for our weather! One of my girl's at work owns a foreign car and even tho it was plugged in, it didn't start once during our cold snap!

You lucky girl you! Another trip with Mary and her little beauties! Can' wait to read about that one!

He entertained us more than any class ever could! Precious!

Right now Kathy, I would agree with you...summer and summmer sounds just wonderful...in FLorida sounds even better!

I hear ya girl! It's just tough sometimes!

They were amazing! We could easily have split one but Shanleigh loves chocolate everything and I don't so we very rarely can decide on a dessert we would both like!

Hope all is well, I heard you guys are getting hammered by that storm. Stay safe!

Another week has passed and I thought I would have had time during the week to get an update completed, but nope, got sick! Stupid cold! Shanleigh has it now so she is none to happy with me for giving it to her!

But here goes!
699_zps6c37a56e.jpg

We were heading out to Epcot on this particular evening and I realized as we came out of the main building that I had yet to take any pictures here!
700_zps1cb02088.jpg

The bus stops....I really did love how close our room was to the buses! Walking to the bus is never hard because you're so excited about what the day has in store for you, however, there are some evenings where we are dead tired and that walk is like having cement boots on! But this location was perfect for us!

Arriving at Epcot

It was such a gorgeous evening!

We were a little early for our ADR and it was so nice out that we decided to stop for a little drink! The is a mango gingerita...yummy! Shan had some kid of tea I believe!

Once we were done we headed inside for our dinner. This was our first visit here and we were quite impressed!

Shan's dinner which would have been more than enough for 3 ppl LOL

My dinner...so good! The service was second to none and the food was good! We headed out to wander some more and watch Illuminations! Sorry, no pics, just enjoyed our evening!

Quick update! We ate there once, they had great food.

Have you guys warmed up yet? We are waiting out a blizzard warning today.

It's not too bad here but we haven't ventured out. Not as much snow as expected but pretty strong gusts of wind. South and east of us are getting lots of both and in Nova Scotia they are getting storm surges along the coast.

Hope you beat your cold quick! And Shanleigh too!
Awww the Pop pictures make me so wistful. I love that place!
Mmmm dinner looks yummy! I think I'll make something similar for dinner tonight...

We have yet to try Nine Dragons ourselves! Glad you did and you enjoyed it- the food looks so good! :thumbsup2

Hope you ladies feel better soon and stay warm! :goodvibes

Yes quick is right, had to finish off that day!

Yes...finally! yesterday for Hockey Day in Canada we hit a high of -3....felt like we should be wearing our shorts, never mind skates! Hope you guys faired through that storm!

Carla

We figured after so many trips it was time to try something new and Nine Dragons was it! It was good but it really was the service that was impeccable!

Thanks and yes, we have warmed up finally!

You ladies look so lovely. Love your outfits.

I have never eaten at Nine Dragons, but the food certainly looks really yummy!

Thank you Mary Ellen, you are too kind!

If and when we go back we will definitely share an entree that's for sure!
