Hi all......I was wondering if It's A Small World has reopened yet and have they changed it at all. I heard somewhere that they were updating the song, so I wanted to know if that is true. If anyone has been on it recently can you tell me what is different.....thanks

They've changed the entrance and exit area, spiffed it up a bit on the inside, and removed the doll that asked for help, but it's the same song!!!!

It's primarily a cosmetic enhancement, and everything looks terrific. New paint job, more colorful than before, everything is crisp and clean and beautiful. No substantive changes, just a sprucing up. I usually hate rehabs, but I love this one.

I second what the previous poster said. It is a general sprucing up that was much needed. The big new change is the new entrance area. All the white and gold really look good. Excellent job on this refurb!

What I really noticed the most is that the old, white ceiling tiles have been replaced with black ones. Theyinstalled more directional lighting which is what seems to brighten up the dolls, costumes, and backgrounds. I actually noticed many areas with chippy paint and black smudges on the paint. I don't think they really did much of an overall new paint job as much as the changes that I mentioned. The entrance is new, too.

Small World now has a much cleaner look to it. The entrance area is really nice now. It seemed that the inside scenes were much brighter to us.

We rode it the day before they closed it & it was deffinetly showing wear. The dolls were in need of a serious cleaning.

It looks much better now.

:confused3 Was the song always multilingual? I thought it was only English when we went Nov 2003 but I know I heard the words sung in Spanish for sure and other languages I couldn't necessarily identify when we went March 2005.

I have pictures of It's a Small World on my photo.epson site listed below. Look in the Small World album.

we also thought the song had changed! We remember it really "sticking in our head" but honestly it didn't. And we could barely hear the words half the time. Maybe it's cause we are old now... :guilty: :earboy2:

I found 4 hidden mickeys :earsboy: while riding it 5 times in a row with my 2 year old at midnight at the end of April, :rotfl2:

It really looked fresh & clean to us!

DS (2) loved it - the "face" that rocks back & forth
always got him to say, "Ride the Tock Tock, ride the Tock Tock!"
(That's what he calls clocks).
It was his last ride on our last day, he fell asleep halfway :earboy2:

And DH & I said the same thing about the song not sticking!
It really does not stick in your head now!?
Only thing we noticed was bits of small debris/trash on the platforms,
I would hope the CM's do a boat ride every so often to sweep.
And the second week we were there the female skater was gone,
she hadn't been skating too well a day or so before.
But really, we loved it & rode it as often as possible :flower:
