How strict is the nursery on pickup times/reserved pickup times?

I was able to make a Palo Brunch reservation for my husband and I from 12:30-2:30, however, Nursery sign ups were only available from 12:30-2:00.

Do you think if I drop off just before 12:30 (since thats when my reservation at Palo is) and let them know where we will be, that they won't mind keeping him 30 minutes longer?

Does Palo typically take the entire 2 hours?

Thanks for any info, I will keep checking back on the Online Activities to see if the 2:00-2:30 opens up!

I would suggest that you keep checking. Things change sometimes. But, you should also, as soon as you board, go the nursery and see about extending the time you have booked. They do keep some time for booking onboard, so you should be OK. I wouldn't suggest that you just show up late.

Ok, thanks! I'll go straight there, and send DH in the other direction to get Elsa and Anna meeting tickets! :P

We were out in 1.5 hours for our Palo brunch. We were so full, we didn't want to sit any longer! So, 1.5 hours totally doable.

Thank You! My MIL & FIL weren't able to get a reservation (yet...), so if we aren't able to make them one 24 hrs before our reservation, I'll have free babysitters ;)

I was told they can go maybe 5 minutes past pick up time, but any longer than that you need to book it due to their ratio numbers. As said above though, they have availability open up once on board so you should be ok.

14 minutes prior to 14 minutes after scheduled time is all they allow without charging you extra.

When we did brunch, my husband went up to Palo to get us checked in and I took the baby to the nursery. Then I met him upstairs. No problem at all. I've also left brunch for a few minutes to nurse the baby in the nursery when the timing didn't work out for feeding him before. If you do need to nurse or feed the baby, they will let you in early (they take you to a different room) to do it :)

We had no problem adjusting all of our nursery times. It surely depends on how many under-2s are onboard, but I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Going next summer with at the time an 11 month old so our first time with a baby on board you have to pre reserve times???? That is good to know we are thinking to reserve times during the shows......

It's best to reserve the maximum number of hours you can pre-cruise, to ensure you get the times you want.

Thanks for the info we can plan 90 days out do you think we would have any issues on the dream? Or it
Is it a total crap shoot.

The reason there's a maximum number of hours you can book pre-cruise is to allow everyone who might have need of the nursery the chance to get something. So, if you book pre-cruise, you'll probably be able to get pretty much what you want. No guarantee, though. Also, once onboard, (I think like the second day of the cruise) you can book additional hours, if they are available. Again, to give everyone requiring the nursery a chance to book something (if they wait until they board to book).

The maximum hours you can pre-book for a 3 or 4 night cruise is 10 hours.

DH just had me cancel all nursery hours and we will "play it by ear" o_O

Reason being, the CM on Disney Cruise Line told me that all scheduled nursery times would need to be modified or cancelled 3 days prior to sailing, or we are "stuck" having to pay for nursery regardless of if we use the time scheduled or not.

Oh no! I'm so sorry, but you got bad info. You have 4 hours to cancel, although people have reported being able to cancel with much less notice. Go ahead and rebook as many as you can. :)

Edited to add: sorry--typo. It's 4 hours, not 24 :) I attached a screen shot of the DCL page for small world for reference

   Maybe I will book nights 2, 3 and 4 (late dining) and see how night 1 goes. If it's no good, then I have reservations for the following nights, and if it's NOT a meltdown... I can cancel

Unfortunately, the CMs on the phone don't always give the correct information. The "must be cancelled more than 3 days prior" thing only relates to actual excursions.

From the DCL website:
Cancellations may be made without penalty 4 hours or more before your reservation time. No-shows will forfeit the entire cost of care for the time reserved while Guests who call to cancel fewer than 4 hours before their reservation time will forfeit half the cost of care.

If he wants confirmation of this, call and ask again. If you call 3 times, I'll pretty much guarantee you'll get 3 different answers. Ask to speak to a supervisor, if necessary (and I'd be telling them what the first CM said).

Definitely! The CM was just confused. Happens all the time. That's why we're here ;) Between all of us, you're bound to find the right answer.

Ok! Another light bulb! How will I cancel my reservation without internet access.... do I just go to the nursery and cancel in person?
