It's a small world - flooding

No. Freaking. Way.

I eat my hat. I'm impressed. Disney hasn't done that for me in a while (probably too late for my trip, though).

Best part of the article:

"After assessing the damage, crews figured out what could be salvaged and what needed to be replaced. Then the race was on to find replacement parts and get them delivered quickly amid supply chain issues exacerbated by the pandemic.
“We’re reaching out to the other Small Worlds and other rides around the world at Disney parks and saying, ‘Hey, do you guys have this part and can you have it here by tomorrow?’” Tomlin said."

Like that is legit -- what better story to tell your kid than IASW has friends at other Disney parks that helped it out when it was in need? That's some feels, man.

They definitely did not drag their feet on this one. I mean, it is It's a Small World - it's iconic! I think it was a source of pride to get it back up and running as soon as possible, which is great!

I cannot read this article. When is Small World going to open again? We are going 12/5-12/9! Thank you!

Article quotes “next week”
Officially on Disneyland’s website = 12/5 (it comes off refurbishment)
Rumors = none in particular, but it’s still possible they push it one day at a time depending on testing, etc… and still happen “next week”

We are in the park through Sunday so fingers crossed. I walked over there a few hours ago and there had to be 18 people there between maintenance crews and a few CMs sitting in their normal positions.

tbf, the boats and the flume weren’t the key issue, BUT the CMs were in place in both of the control towers running the ride like a dress rehearsal.

I’m optimistic about Sunday, but we’ll see! I’ll stop by tomorrow afternoon and see if they’re doing anything different.
When I was last there two weeks ago it wasn’t even filled with water so these are great signs!

Sure hope you are able to get on for this trip 🙏🏼
