Have you ever had those 'what a small world' moments while at WDW? Meaning...running into someone who are from the same place you are all the way at WDW. This has happened to us numerous times! Two trips ago, we ran into family friends at DHS and a few days later we ran into our family nurse also at DHS! This past trip, we ran into two family friends that were on vacation together, numerous days. Seemed like we never missed a day without seeing them. Then, while in line for our bus one night at Epcot, we heard our last name being yelled and it was another different family friends!

On one of our recent trips my family made its way down a bench to sit and wait for the Beauty and the Beast show at MGM. As soon as we sat down someone from behind grabbed my arm; I turned around and there was one of my dear friends with her family! I knew they were planning to visit WDW around the same time we were, and could hardly believe we sat in the same place for the same show in that huge theater.

I have not seen people we known, but we have meet people that lived not too far from us. We were going into Epcot and there was a young man wearing the local community college shirt. We started talking and found out that they lived closed to us. So it is a small world ofter all.

Yup. On a recent trip we were in line to order drinks at Muddy Rivers at POR. We heard the unmistakable Boston accent of the man ahead of us and after chatting found out he lives a few streets away from us! Next time we are meeting friends who live in another state there, so we'll be making the world smaller by design! ~ducky

As a teacher married to a principal, this was one of the best...

DH and I took a couple days off from school to head to WDW last winter. On our first night there, we were checking out DisneyQuest, when DH saw one of his students from school whose mom had called him out sick the day before! DH walked right up to the kid (who was in 4th grade I think) and said something like, " Glad I finally found you to make sure you're feeling okay!" You should have seen both the kid's face and the mom's face! It was absolutely hilarious.

We haven't had that happen at Disney. But the best is this -- when I was a kid we went to Italy. We were in line at the Vatican and someone started calling my dad's name! It was our family doctor from our small town in PA, who was vacationing in Italy at the same time. I always think that was really amazing!

When we were at Disneyland in Novemeber, I was waiting for DH to get off of Spae Mountian with my bigger kids, when walking by was a friend of mine from high school and her mom. Haven't seen them in almost 11 years!
Yep, its a small world!

Yep. We were in line for Snow White's Scary Adventures last spring when someone a couple people back said "HI!" It was a neighbor and his daughter. We thought that was pretty amazing to not only be at Disney at the same time, but Magic Kingdom, Fantasy Land, and a certain ride at the same time.

Not at WDW, but on a flight a few years ago, I was seated next to my mom's old officemate! I thought she looked familiar but couldn't place her, so when she asked me to put her bag in the overhead for her (I was on the aisle) I snuck a peek at the tag on the bag, and then introduced myself :)

I had another one recently and I cannot for the life of me remember what it was! Mommy brain strikes again :faint:

On our first trip we're walking down Main Street and my husband said "I know that man over there". He claimed it was a person from his VERY small town he grew up in, moreover this individual was 3 years older than him and he hadn't seen him in 20 years. Needless to say I did not believe him. 2 hours later we're both in line for Buzz Lightyear and I have to eat my words!

On our last trip, we ran into neighbors who were staying at our same hotel - we had no idea we were both going to WDW! Small world indeed!::yes::

I once met a co-worker at the pool at CSR. She isn't in my department but I knew her all through grade school.

Three times! In 2006, a good friend of mine arrived at WDW the day before we left. Well on our last day we visited AK and saw them in Pizzafari! We watched the afternoon parade together and then we had to leave for the airport...:( In 2003 we ran into two families we know. The first in AK and we rode on the Safari together ( we knew they were in WDW) and another family ( we didn't know were in WDW) in the line for Peter Pan. I remember joking with my friends and telling them I would see them in Disney but never thought it would actually happen due to the amount and sizes of the parks. We asked a CM to take a picture of our families together- it was really neat!:)

We were leaving DHS after Fantasmic when we heard my husbands name being said with much ??? behind it... Totally took us by surprise! It ended up being his BIL's sister and her family! We had no clue we were going to be down there at the same time. It was fun getting to catch up with them for a bit as we hadn't seen them in quite a few years.

We met 3 couples in 2 days! I couldn't believe we saw so many people we knew from our small community. Amazing!

Last July mom and I ran into two different families two different times who are from our hometown in deep South Texas. During that same trip, we were walking behind the castle and I hear someone yelling my first and maiden name. Turns out it was a camp friend who now lives in New Jersey. And he was talking on the phone with his little sister who lives in DC and was a camper in my cabin when I was a counselor! What are the chances??? Small, small world indeed! That's another reason why I wear makeup in the world! ;)

During my trip in October of 2006 I ran into one of my best friends from high school at Downtown Disney. I've seen her a few times since I graduated (I'm a year older), but not very often since I stayed in the area to go to community college and she moved a few hours away to go to a university.

I was having dinner at the House of Blues on our arrival night. I was outside waiting with my DM and a family friend and Dani was there with a theater group from her school. They were there to see La Nouba.

It was pretty cool to run into an old friend, but she had to leave pretty quickly since she was on a schedule.

We ran into DH's cousin and her family in Epcot right in front of the Mexico pavillion. We discovered that they make an annual camping trip to WDW every December! :)

This past trip my sister's boyfriend had a Colorado Rapids shirt on and ended up talking to the father and two boys behind us in line on Kali, finding out that they were from our town and all played soccer! I think that's happened a couple of times to us, and one time we had a whole family of friends down there by coincidence at the same time and we spent a day with them at MK. Oh, and we also sat at the Beirgarten table with a couple from Colorado this time too. :thumbsup2

A few years back, we were in line for the Mad Tea Cups and were chatting with this husband/wife and their 7 year old son. 2 days after that we were walking in World Showcase and the little boy tells my DM that he remembers her from the Tea Cups! Not too unusual, just that we were vacationing at the same time, but still a small world in such a big place as Disney!
