Guzzling In The Grotto
We made the trek to the Contemporary, and on the way over KC told Garret he was not invited on anymore Disney trips because he asks too many questions. Apparently I come from a family who are Disney snobs and if you don’t know Disney like the back of your hand you’re not invited to go with us anymore.
We made it to the contemporary lobby and waited for Alicia before heading over to the poly to meet up with our parents, who had spent the whole afternoon hanging out on the poly beach.
Just a sighting of a Pa in his natural habitat
So we found Alicia headed to the poly, browsed the gift shop as we waited for our parents.
While I browsed the mug section to add to my collection of mugs I don’t really need KC was startled by a tiki man peeking in the window
With our troops all in line we were off to one of my favorite places on property…trader sam’s!
Apparently today was a popular day to guzzle in the grotto. Since the inside seating is so small we had to get a buzzer and wait. They did give us the option of going outside on the patio since they serve the same drinks but the antics that go on inside is what makes the experience worth it. We made the decision to wait…but only for 15 minute tops because we had dinner reservations to make.
Luckily our buzzer went off and we had to scramble to find a table big enough for 6 people.
Now came the real struggle, what to get to drink. I try to make it here every trip so I’ve already had all of the specialty drinks on the menu (minus the nautilus) It was either going to be the zombie head or the krakatoa and whatever came out of my mouth when the waiter came over would be what I got.
The Krakatoa won this round
KC finally got his Nautilus and my opinion this is the best drink on the menu, however its the most expensive and is a sharing drink but that didn’t stop KC.
And at the end of the day everyone got something different. Sorry tiki goddess but we couldn’t help guzzling in to grotto.
What it takes to get that instagram pic in the grotto
After Trader Sam’s we headed off to our family’s home away from home for some dinner.
So it was back on the monorail to the magic kingdom where we caught the boat to Fort Wilderness.
While we waited for the boat Ma kept saying how she wasn’t going to go and pay to eat and Alicia was freaking out because her schedule was about to drop and she needed to be on the disney wifi to see it and so she could jump on shifts.
We got to fort wilderness and checked in a bit early at Trails End thats when Ma and Pa decided they were going to eat with us because they weren’t hungry enough to do a buffet.
We left the boys with the buzzer and Alicia and I ran off to the trading post. Every time I walk into that store I just want to get the long sleeve shirt but I always walk away. This was one of those times even though Alicia kept saying “I get 40% off” I still just had to walk away. And thanks to KC calling us I didn’t have time to buy it anyways.
Trails End here we come!
I was ready to eat and fill up on mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and corn bread. Thats all I need in life. But then I saw that they had chicken noodle soup today but the non-existing bowls was the only thing stopping me from getting some. But luckily a CM came out with a basket full of bowls and my night was made.
As we ate Garret brought up some small dinner talk
“KC looks older than Sam. and Alicia looks like she could be the 24 year old”
KC had no come back for that so he just went “That’s cause she is skinny..*then slowly points to me* and….infant”
Scarfing down this delicious food comes easy to me but I know I need to also save room for some dessert. So I think strawberry shortcake, gummy bears and sugar cookies makes for a good healthy dinner.
After a very delicious and filling dinner we all headed back to the kingdom for the night.
As we waited for a boat back to the kingdom we saw fireworks go off. This all confused us because it wasn’t even 8 o'clock yet. Alicia thought it was just the last show of the castle show but when I looked it up I realized we missed Once Upon A Time. I just assumed that it would be before Wishes. So I was kind of really mad that I missed it but Alicia was right I saw it in Tokyo when I was there. But this time it would be different because it would be all in English and I would understand it!
Note to self and others: Once Upon A Time starts at 7:30 and not 9:30 before Wishes
