It's a Jolly Holiday with LL. *FINISHED* Final Update on pg. 58.

Great shopping!!! Great update!!! Sounds like it was a lovely day!!! I can't wait to hear about Kona and your evening!
Hmmm...but did we end up going to Kona Cafe? ;)

Good shopping pics. I might steal your Stitch picture. For some unknown reason, I didn't take any pics of DTD this year EXCEPT for DD playing at the Lego Store. Oh well!!!
I barely took any pics, I was too focused on shopping. :lmao:

You did manage to get a ton done with only being at DTD for like four hours including lunch. That's why I always tell people to go shopping during the day, not at night at DTD. So much easier.
I had only gone to night and have to agree with you. Much less crowded and the stores were way easier to nagivate.

Oooooh, I am so looking forward to your seeing all of the treasures you bought!:yay: I love Goofy's (although I thought it was slow when we went too). The Christmas store is awesome!:santa: I think that would be a fun place to work. The floor reminded me of a candy by Brach's (so I Googled it) take a look at the jelly nougats.

Is that anything like it?

Great update!:thumbsup2
That's it! I am so excited you found it. That's exactly it. Thanks! :goodvibes

Awwww LL I'm so glad I got to read an update before i left:hug:

It sounds like a great day!!! I can't WAIT to go to DTD! No one ever wants to shop:confused3 with me!

The floor reminds me of the hard candy that my MumMum used to make herself for Christmas. It was a family event. Cooking the candy, pouring it out onto wax paper, cutting it into pieces before it completely cooled, then us kids got to make a mess and toss it with the powdered sugar!! I remember one year it was unseasonalbly warm in November and the parenterals made us sugar them OUTSIDE:rotfl: so we wouldn't make a mess in the house!!

I don't think we ever called it by a name though:confused3 it was just "hard candy" and we made it all sorts of flavors and colors!!

Paula
I hope you have a fabulous trip filled with lots & lots of magic! :wizard:

It seems like a lot of people complain about how slow the service is at Goofy's. Was it worth it? Could I make the treats just as well at home?

Another great update Lallie, but I kind of missed the lampage! And I feel really bad that you're so tired at this point in the trip.
Honestly, I didn't really think Goofy's was worth it. I'll give you my full opinion in the next update when we eat our treats. I guess the picture of the floor will have to be the subsitute for no lampage. :rotfl2:

That is sooo sweet! :goodvibes
I thought it was really sweet of him.

What do you think of them? Have you tried any of the recipes out of them yet?
You know what? I don't think we have. We must have a Disney Day soon & try one of them out! I do really enjoy looking in them though. I think for the price, it's a great souvenir. I can't wait to try out some of them when I have to bring a dish to a party or gathering.

That floor does look like grandma candy!
:rotfl:

That is the candy I thought of too! :goodvibes

I am looking forward to seeing all your LOOT!!!!! I love that there are 5x7 postcards at the art store! We didn't have a chance to explore DTD on our last (first) trip, but this time around we have about 4 hours cut-out for it. :thumbsup2
I still haven't framed my postcards yet but that is besdies the point, they are great! I think in 4 hours, if you go during the day you can see a lot of it. I didn't venture over near Pleasure Island at all, we just stayed at in the Marketplace area.

What is this world coming to....

An entire LL post, with no light fixture pix???!

:rotfl2:

Well I enjoyed it just the same. We really liked Earl of Sandwich. The kid's grilled cheeses were to. die. for.

And I remember that candy that the floor looks like!! I'll have to look for them at the Brach's bulk candy bin next time I'm at the grocery store.

Where was the Mega Blocks Jack Sparrow??? I missed him!

Rats....

We did like Earl of Sandwich but I think it was a case of it not living up to the hype in my head. The Mega Blocks Jack was in Once Upon a Toy I believe. pirate:

Thank you! Can you actually believe I did not take a picture of that? Granted I was a little tired when we went to Downtown. And not to reveal too much, but I love seeing your pics of Goofy's! We never made it in the door. Avoided the place like the plague. Which is not to say I didn't have my fair share of treats, but it this regard, I am LOVIN' living vicariously through you. :thumbsup2

Do you know what I did today, LL? Besides making a Christmas binder and some pumpkin bread? I started a list :) -- a souvenir shopping list -- and the first thing I put on it were the Disney cookbooks (I always think of all these things I want to buy when I am home, and then when I get to WDW I can't remember any of them).

The Giselle picture is awesome, I have never seen it before. When we were there we also spent a ton of time in DTD's Christmas store - my friend Jakkie loves everything Christmas. And I went CRAZY in Basin. I even regretted that I didn't buy more stuff there because all their soaps are so fun and different. At least they have a website!
I will be curious to see the stuff you got in your mystery bags, I have always wanted to buy one but it seems like such a gamble
Also I kinda feel the same way about Earl of Sandwich....good, but I'm not racing to get back there again.
Oh also I thought it was very funny that you hated that one picture of yourself (which is a cute picture!) but posted it anyway

Weird about the Pop wake-up calls. Don't they synchronize watches and realize how precious every minute is in Disney?? :confused3 I'm also very interested in your assessment of EOS and thoughts on Wolfgang Puck Express. I'm still undecided it's between those two and Raglan Road if I could get in w/o an ADR (maybe sitting at the bar). I think I'm going to make a game-day decision and go with the flow.

Can you believe I've never been to Goofy's Candy Co?? :scared1:

Looking forward to your next update.popcorn::

PS- too cute about the wedding band tan line :goodvibes

I am glad that was the candy!:thumbsup2 Are you going to buy some?
I am going to have too next time I see them. Ahhhh.....sweet childhood memories.

WOO HOO! A trip list! How very exciting. I can't wait to read it.

I loved my mystery bag. Stay tuned for a story about what happened after I opened it!
The reason I posted the picture is that I have some pretty funny/embarrassing ones of Marc and I promised that I would post all of the embarrassing ones of myself too. I have to be fair.
Glad I am not the only one who felt that way about Earl. It was good, don't get me wrong but I think I'd like to try something else next time.

Honestly. I would try for Wolfgan Puck Express or Raglan Road. Earl was good but it was meh. If you are in the mood for a good sandwich, go to Earl but if you want something a little more elaborate try one of the others.
I was kinda mad about the wake up calls. At WL, our wake up calls were right on time! I guess that's where the extra money goes. :lmao:

Not that Earl was bad but I guess it just didn't live up to the hype that I read on here. It was a very good sandwich but if we went again we would pay OOP and not use the CS credit. We didn't feel it was worth it. I think we had been spoiled already and Earl didn't live up to everything else we had.

We ended up eating here to. My review will be at the end of my report. :D

I hate this picture.

And yet you posted it anyway. LOL

Of course, we had to go over to Goofy's. There was no one in line and somehow we were there forever it seemed.

For us too. And then a bunch of people positively DUMPED into the shop and we waited even longer because they were making batches of stuff at a time. WELL WORTH it though. It was one of the things I brought home for BF's souvenir. He was quite happy with it.

I had wanted to take a nap but didn't really have time since we had to leave for the Poly and our Kona ADR.

I was beginning to doubt going out tonight. I didn't feel like it.

No! You MUST go to Kona!

How were we going to get to the Poly?

HOWEVER you had to get there.

Was Kona worth it?

I will wager a YES.

**Can you believe I have a whole post with no light fixtures? What has the world come too?**

Feeling ok?

Sounds like you got some really good shopping in. I love the Minnie as Mary Poppins big fig in that pic. I was looking thinking - Wow I really want one of those. The fact that my tiny place is filled to capacity and I have nowhere to put it means nothing to me.

Alright.

You're aware that I'm a pirate, yes?

I want you to know, I'm fixin' to mutiny. But not on Jack Sparrow. That would just be wrong.

ON YOU!

Where's my update???? ;) ;) I require another.

Ahem. Exxxxxxcuse me Ms. Pirate but it has only been FOUR days since my last update. I am trying to prolong my TR as long as possible since I don't have another trip planned until December 2010. *Sniff Sniff* I need the Disney magic to last as long as possible. :scared:

I know.

But I'm selfish.

And I LIKE reading about your trip.

It alleviates my Disney Depression.

Puh-puh-puh-please???? ;)

I won't be going back until 2010 (June I think) too! I have already started planning it, in my mind at least.:thumbsup2
